DUDE , This is SO Wrong, You should know that you should leave the Fish Bag in the water for at least 15 minutes so they can get used to the temperature, otherwise they will get stressed, poor things. :S
thinking of getting a turtle and put it in my 250-260 litre tank i have a fluval 206 filter and 2 air pumps and a backround that looks real, but i dont have so much gravel , i have 4 piranhas in it that are about 6-7 inches they eat goldfishes that are bigger then they are, do u think i can get a turtle in my tank? if so, can u tell me what type of turtle i can buy, how much it cost, how big they get, what they eat,and the requirements, and if i can order them at the closest pet store. plz reply.
@TheFishKeeper100 no pet store sells water turtles and if you are smart enough to even think about putting a turtle with a piranha i dont think you should have one
@TheUSAHaxor Pet stores do sell turtles and it was along time ago since i posted this comment, so i dont want to have a conversation about it couse i dont care about turtles now.
@TheUSAHaxor I knew u were gonna say that, and in that exact way aswell, well i did not say i was gonna buy them from the pet shop, i said i was gonna ORDER them from the pet shop to make sure it was illegal and bla bla bla, never said i was gonna buy it from a tank at the pet shop. I ordered my piranhas from the pet shop, so just thought that ordering a snapping turtle would be possible, ok? cant wait to see ur next reply, hope it's worth my time.
For those complaining about the seeing the cute little goldfish swimming for their lives only to be eaten by a snapping turtle, here's my two cents: Ahem....*clears throat and sings* It's the Circle of Life....
I got a baby from my cuzin like last spring, feed him gold fish. He was like the size of a qaurter when i got him. Hes the siz of my hand now. I have a question. Does your turtle get like flakey stuff all over it ??
You need a bigger tank for this fella. iv got 2 RES in a 5ft tank and they are 4inch long ea. Also goldfish are not a good choice for food. burt each to there own. on to the video, damn hes a monster looks very healty. I just cant wait to get mine next week.
Babys mostly forage for dead carcases and bugs. They don't start eating live prey untill they get a little bigger and it's easier. They are more worried about surviving those first few days. Check out my turtle in my videos. No quit as big as this guy, but just as amazing.
Wow.. i read your story on how you obtain Mr.Noodles.. it was a very nice story almost like a short film on how you got him lol its crazy how he turned out now..
i just got my baby common snapping turtle on the 6th so iv had him for 4 days and he just startedeating on the 7th i have a vid on my profile of his forst time eating while iv had him and he is the size of a half dollar maybe a little smaller and his shelsl still soft what can i do to help his shell along??
Mr. Noodles is just like my turtle, they look alike except mr noodles is bigger, i rescued my snapping turtle just like you did, and they both love goldfish!
crack man i hope tis scary shit turtles oneday grow as gaint cum n tk u up since u could put de fish in 4 turtles to eat poor thing i c de fish r all so scary movin...heartless
Hmm maybe that theres just water where its under the turtle where it can cath the fish and no filter no hides no nothin?? and how about you ask the owner b4 you go and be a bitch and just think your right
i have alot of friends and let me tell you somthin its kinda sad how you try and be big and bad and know everything when you havent talked to the owner
That turtles gonna bust through that tank yo... i would get a bigger and thicker tank. Cause the bigger the turtle is the harder he'll hit the walls of the tank when he charges at the fish.
awesome 5/5 check out my snapper vid, i also found my snapper, she was about to die in the middle of a huge marking lot, and she was going nowhere towards water, she was just hatched cus she had dirt from crawling out of her hole and she had a very soft shell, thats how they are as soon as they r born, and she also had that white thing at the tip of her beak to help her get out of the egg

DAMN HE'S A GREEDY BEAST! it cool how you can still see the goldfish moving while it's in the throat.

i found a snapping turtle walking down a country lane in the middle of the road so i took him in. i rang RSPCA and they said i could keep it and told me about it. i was told that considering they are found in canada (cold climates) i can keep it in a pond. ive got a 4 and a half foot pond thats about 3 foot deep. the turtle is about 15-18 inchs long and weighs about 6-8 kilo. what should i feed it and what sort of features should i put in with it.....
355FOX 3 years ago
Don't use goldfish they contain small amounts of copper sulphate in them, and over time it builds up in their bodies and causes organ failure. I use minnows but they're small in pet stores so you might wanna get them from bait stores they're the same thing.

I found my baby snapper the same way, he was a late hatcher, since there was a drought that summer, the turtles layed late. Ussually the baby snappers just overwinter right in the nest when they are late, but somehow we found this little guy after the snowfall, and he wouldn't have made it. My second snapper, and he's already went from the size of a quarter to almost 5inches in shell length.

Nice video michaillaszolo, gold fishes are jam packed full of calcium for good size shell growth. I am not a fan of feeding them too much meat like most people do, and high protein pellets the causes shell abnormalities. Fish of all sorts(as fresh as possible) are the best diet for these plated dinosaurs. I feed mine crickets, fish, vegetables, and the occasional fruits of all kinds.
jerumd 3 years ago
Hey, nice turtle. I am getting a baby snapping turtle next month. How old is that turtle and shouldnt you have a basking spot for it.
frankierogersss 4 years ago
He'll be five years old this fall. Snapping turtles need much less UV exposure than other turtles. They are rarely seen basking in nature. I've found that I can keep Mr. Noodles in good shape by feeding him a diet rich in calcium and phosphorus, and by taking him outdoors during the summer. Fifteen minutes of basking in strong sunlight is enough to stimulate Vitamin D production for a few weeks.
As for your plans, please bear in mind that snapping turtles grow to be large, strong, and violent.
michaellaszlo 4 years ago
Yeah, Thanks, umm i was wondering if i can put it in the tank with my painted and map turtle. some say i can some say i cant
frankierogersss 4 years ago
No way. Snapping turtles don't get along with any other creature, not even with their own kind. The cute hatchling phase doesn't last very long. I cannot emphasize enough that these are very aggressive, carnivorous, destructive turtles. I do not recommend them as pets. I have kept mine only out of necessity.
michaellaszlo 4 years ago
Ok, thanks. Are you going to start feeding him `bigger things
frankierogersss 4 years ago
I always buy the largest feeder fish they have at the pet store. During the summer, I feed him earthworms, which I get by the case from a bait wholesaler. I feel it's best to give him live prey that he can swallow in one piece. I did feed him a large frog once. He tore off the limbs one by one before he got to the head and torso. I did not enjoy watching the gory scene play out in my tank. The frog suffered a great deal and there was much tattered flesh to clean up afterward. Never again!
