  • that looks like a old vintage elevator

  • can you do a retake with going to the basement

  • elevator

  • What I would give to live in that apartment!

  • We have a Westbrook traction elevator from 1969 that looks awfully similar to this at my college campus.

  • Appears that Monarch was based out of Greensboro, NC. One of their mechanics left to form Southern in 1949, it seems. From my research, Dover acquired them in 1961.

  • there is a monarch hyro in woods hall at murray state

  • yeah there is and the call button is a best lock

  • @10738cartman is it still running??

  • by the way,the clicking souds like someone inserting coins at a casino or something..

  • very old type there. ive only seen one, around here, there's one at the Doctors office, the building is pretty old as well

  • The door opens before it stops

  • I think that the clicking between floors aren't relays, but contact switches to give floor position.

  • It has quite a small floor indicator.

  • OK the chime on that one sounded like s***

  • what is the purpose of holding up a stupid toy train?

  • So people like you can ask questions about it...

  • you then stupid la.......

  • what if you would have gotten out on the top floor and the elevator door shut and you were stuck between the glass door and the elevator door what would you do?

  • That would really suck! you would be there for a long time if nobody came up to that floor!!!

  • I knew it would be a truck, since elevator door protection systems don't make that noise.

  • Was that beeping noise on the first floor when the door was closing from the elevator door protection system, or a vehicle backup alarm outside?

  • it was a truck outside. it was backing up to the building next door i believe.

  • Hey, wait a minute...I've seen an elevator like that! I found it at St. Joseph hospital and fixtures look like that, except the control panel inside is by Montgomery. And that one I rode at St. Joseph is by Murphy Elevator.

  • what city is this in?

  • Lexington, KY.

  • Is basement restricted?

  • no the only reason i didnt go down there, is there is a ballroom down there and it is VERY poorly lit.

  • Interesting elevator. Also weird how they control access to the floors. All of the old elevators I saw had keyholes in place of buttons for restricted floors.

  • wow very nice vintage elevator
