  • That must be so overwhelmingly happy. It made me cry happy tears for her. :)

  • @EdgardFlicks

Yeah.. Me too! That is the only solution that

relieved the pain im suffering from tinnitus

before! Its been 5months now and it made

it permanently gone. But you must have

mispelled the site name. That should be:

    StopTinnitusToday.infp

    Highly Recommended!

  • I just watched you get your tattoo on NY Ink on tv today omg this led me to your story mad me cry!

  • I though it was amazing!

  • We take so much for granted.. So much!

  • How does she know how to speak?

  • @flaper41 Are you dumb? she is not mute she is deaf.

  • @bongotoo1 its funny how you used dumb and mute in the same sentence considering they both have the same meaning

  • @pokepokemonmon LOL never looked at it that way.

  • Comment removed

  • @bongotoo1

I mean, understand people and respond.

  • @flaper41 Deaf people can communicate they just use there hands, read lips, ect... I know several people that are deaf and they have very "normal" conversation with me and other people they just cant hear.

  • @bongotoo1

But they can verbally speak english? (or whatever language) Seems almost impossible to me, just verifying.

  • @flaper41 I would not use "speak" as the term for every one, but yes they can. Some times very clearly. sometimes they have some hearing which I would think is the case in this vid. But I know people that are 100% deaf and the still can talk just not like you and me. I would think they don't really have an understanding of audible language, like you or me. But they still know the idea of language and conversation, through sign language

  • @flaper41 I also would like to apologize for my first comment it was a bit harsh. I would google Deaf people talking or something like that. I will see if one of my deaf friends will let me video a conversation, so you can have some point of reference.

  • aww, so happy for her. :) pretty girl with her nice tattoo!

  • Being that I was born deaf and I speak perfectly. I am really shocked at the lack of understanding here about how a deaf person can learn to speak. While not all deaf people succeed at speech, many do. Speech therapy guys. A lot of work. Not for the weak or faint of heart. Getting an implant? also not an easy choice. It is a huge investment of time and energy to learn sounds and get comfortable. A lot of DEAF bullies posting here. Good Luck Sarah!

  • 16 peeps couldn't hear what was going on.

  • fantastisch toch!!

  • awh <3

  • @TedManiax yeah get it from MK

  • @TedManiax waita copy MK you bitch ..

  • @PAGLST

I didn't know MK said that..

  • @TedManiax >didn't know he said it

    >used copy and paste.

  • Thanks for sharing the moment.

  • The Esteem implant only works if there is some residual hearing. The person may be basically deaf, i.e cannot hear anything, but there can still be some residual hearing. This surgery would not work for Rush Limbaugh, who is 100% deaf.

  • @cejaney haha.

  • Way to steal someone else's video.

  • Sarah I am so very happy for you! What a blessing to share this moment with you. This SHOULD be covered by insurance!

  • May I ask please? If this woman was born deaf, how come she could talk and understand voices? I'm sorry I was excited to hear this because I have a deaf relative but he doesn't talk since he couldn't hear well. Please if anyone has any idea please get back to me.

  • @ProudLad87

Some people hear a little more than absolutly nothing. I think see still read lips, but is smart enough to understand the voices.

I'm hard of hearing since I'm born and live in the Netherlands. In the USA that I'm deaf with the same percentage lost (I only hear lesser than 30%)

I think Sarah belongs too those persons who calls hard of hearing in other countries.

But its also a chance this video is fake, we will see.

  • @shersmk90 She was on the Ellen Degeneres show, so I'm sure it's not fake. :))

  • @SallieAltie

I'm glad you can tell me that.

because I wouldn't know that (no Ellen Degeneres show here in the Netherlands)

    Thanks

  • @shersmk90

Thank you so much for getting back to me brother. The thing is my relative is not 100% deaf but since he only picks louder voices but he can't understand most of what we say. His pronunciation is not normal to words since he never heard them probably. In Saudi he wasn't even given appropriate lesson to write coherent sentences which is terribly sad! I know of people who are hard of hearing but this girl sounds so normal in her sentences.

  • @ProudLad87

People never know that I'm hard of hearing, because I do pronounce everything perfectly. If I tell them I'm almost deaf (Dutch line of deaf) they're totally surprised. I think that everyone is different, in the way they would talk, deaf, hard of hearing, hearing and everything in between. I don't think that is a bad thing, if everybody just feel conformable with at least one languages so if that means the persons speaks perfectly Sing languages than that is oke!

  • i disliked this vid too.. haha.

  • @Ibringthetruth1 I thumbed you down and marked you as spam, haha.

  • ciência + tecnologia=vida.

  • idk but i am realy posotive this video is fake. i have a deaf cousin and she has been deaf sence she was born and she is unable to talk. so if she has never hered anything in her life she wouldnt be able to talk. she wouldnt know what it sounds like to talk and even though she hered the lady talk wouldnt mean she would learn the english language just like that.

  • @quadril12 I agree I wondered for the same reason.

  • @quadril12 It's speech therapy. My uncle's deaf and doesn't talk too. But have you ever heard of Helen Keller? She was deaf, blind, and apparently mute. But after a caretaker, she learned to speak and understand others also. It's not impossible.

  • @quadril12

Of course its not fake, ffs, whats wrong with you people?. are you incapable of doing a google search at least??.

  • Wow thats great.

  • THATS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • How did something so wonderful as a woman hearing herself for the first time get stained by Bible thumping. I myself am a Christian and bless this woman for sharing this beautiful moment in her life..I'm so sorry that every religion has its extremest.. I am so happy for YOU!!! forget what others may say and enjoy the sounds that God has provided for us and whatever may be on your skin is irrelevant!

  • @hancocklicata

Hey. Im only 14 but i know several ppl in my school who have tattoos at my age. Its not a bad thing its all about personal choice.

  • @SteelTearsz

    People ignored God's words.

    That's it.

  • The deaf can actually speak very well. I met a deaf person at my old school and we were good friends but for the first month I didnt know she was deaf, she was just really good at reading lips and she could easily mimic the sounds by moving her own lips the same way.

  • @hancocklicata are you from Westboro??? And who are you to judge others, thats God's job, not yours!

  • how did the woman learn pronouncing words if she has been deaf for her whole life?

  • @xXxXxXxJennixXxXxXx

As weird as it is, you can learn to speak even if you're deaf.. there's one MMA fighter who's been deaf all his life and speaks fairly well.. search: Matt Hamill

I guess this woman has not been completely deaf all of her life.

  • @PeXis she has

  • @PeXis Oh I see. Interesting. O.o

  • @hancocklicata How dare you judge her for her decisions? How can you not see the good in this. She's experiencing something amazing, and all you care about is her tattoo? It's the 21st century, people have tattoo's grow up. Why ruin something so beautiful with your hate?

  • @hancocklicata no one gives a crap about your stupid bible crap. the events of it are as real as santa claus. so cut that bible crap.

  • Dont be stupid , she was using a implant already.

  • HEI TYÖ SUMALAISET MIKSI TE KOMMENTOI TÄMÄ VIDEO KAUNIS KOSKA TÄMÄ ON ENSINMÄINENKERTANI KUULEE ITSE ÄÄNI PAHOITELUN GOOGLE TRANSULATER

  • dammit, im in love again..

  • nice tatoo!

  • Learned to speak from lip reading? My ass. This is fake. She has a flawless accent. Someone deaf for three decades CANNOT produce such flawless speech. There's a lot more to speech than just lip reading, it's the tongue and the whole mouth and all the possible sounds. Why the hell would someone want to fake this? You idiots. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • @HienoKaveri she doesn't have a flawless accent

  • @HienoKaveri Älä ny pilaa muiden iloa

  • @HienoKaveri as an deaf person, I find your statement to be ignorant. don't you even know that there are many different types of deaf people? look at my comments below yours for more information. there is SUCH a thing as hearing aids, and stuff like that, you know. so Deaf people do know what sound is like, etc... in fact I don't even have cochlear implants and I still enjoy music on a regular basis thanks to my hearing aids. moron.

  • @HienoKaveri jenkit....

  • @HienoKaveri wow you really think it's fake? you're stupid.

  • @HienoKaveri luitko ees tota video descriptionia....?

  • @HienoKaveri it is ignorant, spitefull, callous, uncompassionate, and heartless comments, thoughts, and prejudices like yours that make this world a horrible place. Either you suffering from cynicism or you belong in the dark ages.

  • Muito linda parabéns ^^

  • If u have never heard anything, in which language do u think?

  • @joujoppe the deaf people are educated in everything just like everyone around them, inducing reading and writing. so they would still think in the language of their native country. also, read my response to piavo in how deaf people can learn to feel the vibrations of sounds and associate sounds with words.

  • This kind of things have a reason to be appreciated. Modern technology can give a chance to have an ordinary life when in history that was forbidden and impossible.

  • Wow, this made my day! I'm happy for you!

  • this is so wonderful, made me cry. so happy for her!

  • How does she know how to speak and how she understants speaking that well? Im not saying that its fake, i just want that somebody explain me :D

  • @piavo there are many types of deaf people, which varies from "hard of hearing", meaning that they can hear some sounds but it's very hard for them to hear everything. then there's the completely deaf, meaning that they litterally cannot hear anything at all. There are many deaf schools where they teach them how to speak, etc. depending on the deaf person, this can be easy or very difficult. many deaf schools teach about sounds by vibrations, and during this process they learn lipreading too.

  • gotta love technology

  • He speaks kinda normally for deaf. Usually deaf people don't speak very well.

  • Your voice is sooooo cute :)

  • I don´t understand, she talked after to hear , She heared the voice of the Doc

    (o_o)???

  • @pablo88bsas it said on fox news she learned how to speak from lip reading

  • @elizabeth2285 yes, i can see that, but she didn´t speak, Is the doctor who speak when she are hearing,,, she never spoke... =/

  • I want to hug her.

  • Como ela fala se nunca ouviu? Não estou duvidando, porém, me veio a curiosidade.

  • Twas once I was deaf, but now I hear. My god. Alright lady, this is Beethoven and Jimi Hendrix. They're a good place to start.

  • @MaximusDowns Haha, hell yeah :-) - Don't forget Mozart.

  • In response to the disbelievers here is an article from Time that has more info:

  • This is so touching. One thing I don't understand though is this. Did she stop sounding like a deaf person at that moment she could her or did she not talk like that all along?

  • Yea for her!!!!!!!!!

Alguém sabe informar a respeito?

  • So amazing :) God bless her i couldn't picture life without hearing ..

  • 4 people are blind and clicked the wrong buttom..

  • i find this easy to masterbate to

  • Gracias a Dios!!!

  • Awesome video. Thank you for sharing. You are now more blessed than most because you can turn it off when idiots, like some of those commenting, choose to speak. All the best.

  • i will get her an ipod.

  • Até eu me emocionei.... que legal !

  • That was beautiful. Wow. I'm really happy for her, that must have been so much to take in.

  • I LOVE THIS GIRL.!!!!!!!! She is beautiful in every way. When I saw this it brought tears to my eyes. I love the fact that the nurse was so easy going and cheerful herself. This is truly heart touching in every way. So Happy for you Sarah

  • God Bless this young woman, very very happy for her...!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • some ppl need to grow up and stop cutting others down all the time it ppl like that that pisses me off get a life oo and some deff ppl can talk

  • Wow...she is really Beautiful

  • Great !! we all happy for you !! And really made me think twice about what i got and really appreciative

  • Do you wanna hear your husbands voice? ... Guess not.

  • This video game me chills and brought me tears- I'm excited for her !!

  • @jlopezosci

just don't listen to rap. It will make you want to rip the thing out of your ear.

  • I love these happy videos

  • thats a nice one

  • My cousin was born deaf and was considered to also be mute. Her only means on communicating was sign language but now thanks to surgery and a hearing aid she was able to hear and learn.how to speak since her not being able to hear is what keept her from speaking. Not all deaf people have the same level of deafness.

  • Thumbs up if Matt Lauer's interview on the Today Show brought you here.

  • De édes :) Egyem a szívét ,nagyon megkönnyeztem!

  • That woulda been funny if her husband like did some ridiculous accent, and been like you makin fun of my voice!?

  • this is fake! what deaf person has speech that clear and articulate. look up marly madlen. deaf people speak like choppy and ..... but not clear. she's too articulate with all the hidden sounds. this is fake

  • @AndrogynousMarley you're ignorant on so many levels that I don't even know where to start. first of all, you are stereotyping... not all deaf people are the same! there are many various types of deaf people... some actually speak pretty good just like a regular hearing person, while others don't. Not all of us speak in Hulk speak, you know. :P It's ignorant people like you who makes life hard everyday for Deaf people with your idiotic stereotypes. I should know, I'm deaf.

  • AWWWWWW she is so cute!

  • How come she knew what the nurse was saying if she wasnt looking at her lips?? And how does she know what " loud" means? This is bull.

  • @xxLoBBLyDominicaNxx

Death people can actually talk, though they can't hear themselves or others speaking. Some speak well, some not so well or not at all. As far as i know it's mainly cause they feel the vibrations that language makes and then learn to speak. Don't you think that if you are able to produce the sound even without being able to hear it, then when you hear it you can recognize that particular sound?

  • @originalperloocko

Death people can actually talk?!?!?! Do you mean deaf? Dead ppl definitely don't hear ... drastic difference!

  • @originalperloocko

Ok you got a point.... BUT answer my first question.. How she knew what the nurse asked her if she wasnt looking at her lips??? the vibration has nothing to do, she might recognize the vibratioon of her voice, but not the nurse's voice

  • That's awesome! She's so beautiful too!

  • How the fuck do you dislike this video?

  • I am so surprised that a born deaf girl can speak so clearly.

  • i dont get it.. when she said 'can you hear me' how did she know what that meant? i mean she nodded.. but if she's never heard sound before?

  • @thewirrow she can speak so obviously she knows the words

  • @BurntWaflles what are u talking about? she doesnt know what sounds were coming out of her mouth. she could lipread before... sound is completely alien to her. how did she knowwhat 'can u hear me' was?!

  • @thewirrow she knew the basics of sound. she had to learn how to make the sounds. that along with the fact that she can probably read lips. if you know how to say the word "apple" then you know what apple means and somewhat how it sounds

  • Thank you for sharing this with the world. I hope you have a lifetime of hearing!

  • Epcotfan1, I have a cousin that is deaf since he was born and guess what: he speaks. So, unless you are an expert, you're not able to classify it as fake. Don't be so cinical.

  • It would be inspiring if true. Clearly, she wasn't born deaf. There's no way she would be able to make sense of the sounds she is hearing or understand dialogue if she'd never heard it. From my understanding, people who hear for the first time can't distinguish different qualities of sounds. Also, it's still very controversial for deaf people to learn to speak (and very hard, as learning sign language is very difficult for hearing people to learn). If she wasn't born deaf, this makes sense.

  • beautiful moment...and, I know it´s not the point but to be honest, pretty hot girl as well !!

  • This is truly amazing, I'm glad that I was able to watch it. I'm sure you went home and listened to music, the sounds of birds chirping and the sound of your parents voice calling your name. This is awesome!

  • Wow wow wow! I couldn't imagine not hearing my first sound until I was 29. What an incredible experience :D thank you for sharing this special moment of your miracle :)

  • @TallTanAndLoud If she's never heard anything in her life, then here's my question.. How could she know what the nurse was saying if she wasnt looking at her lips???

  • @j132wray

exactly, I have this question too, but by watching the clip it is so real and touching, maybe something else we dunno yet

  • @j132wray Dont be stupid . She starts with the implant . And after de nurse adjust it , she starts to heard her .

  • @eltonmonsores1 Sigh... What j132wray meant was how could she understand the words the nurse was saying to her. It's hard to belive that a person that has been deaf all her life could suddenly understand what certain words sound like
