I see that the crystal (face) was simply pressed into the frame, is that secure? I figure that the plastic ring between the crystal and frame helps tightening the fit, but could the crystal still be popped out?
seriously, you guys are the people my father always told me had "more money than sense"-lol. who really gives a fuck how much your watch costs??? you have any idea what else you could do with that money? no, you don't... you don't give a fuck.
@dc44resident people who buy swiss watches have everything else already kid. This isnt my favorite by any measure but if I had the cash I would buy a Breguet.
@markistheone You should see some real high-end stuff. Panerai is basically entry-level. I bet you won't find Patek, AP, or VC inviting the Science Channel into their factory though.
@TheKasperkat Hahaha! You sound like my wife. My response always starts with something like, "Back in the good old days, before we all wore hubcaps on our wrists..."
@Nebraskahusker23 Five thousand is pretty much the definition of entry-level if you've been paying attention to the watch industry lately. If somebody tells you he saw a Pam in the wild, do you really think he saw a quarter million dollar tourbillon they produced as a stunt or do you figure he saw one of the basic stainless steel watches they sell at the same price point as a SubC?
@MrGalt Of course I don't think someone wearing a Panerai has a $250,000 watch on their wrist, but I would call Baume & Mercier, Tag Heuer, etc. more entry level. I think if you call Panerai entry level, you'd have to call such brands as Glashutte Original, Parmigiani, and some APs entry level as well.
@Nebraskahusker23 Baume & Mercier also makes one of the most expensive watches in the world. I was actually doing some googling after you mentioned six-figure Pams to see where you were coming from and B&M watches were mentioned in some of the same lists. And yes, they're entry-level. I'm trying to consider the brand as a whole. Rolex, Tag, Breitling, Omega, etc are definitely entry level in the luxury watch world. Panerai is in that same club. Same image, same price point.
@spartycatch I'd say Tag would never have pulled the trick Pam did this year, so yeah, I guess they're not in the same league. Tag Heuer, is much more honest, even if they use a Seiko design. Exclusivity is a joke either way. They're both mass-produced "luxury." Come over here and tell me how exclusive Pam is. I know of five shops where I can get one within a 30 minute train ride from my apartment.
@Nebraskahusker23 Sorry to spam you. I had to look up Parmigiani. Those guys are on a whole other level from Panerai.
Please, take the last word and I'd love to discuss this further with you by private message. I'm not anti-Panerai like I come across here. With luck my comments will get pushed to the bottom over time.
@MrGalt I believe you. I'm not a Panerai lover either, your original comment just came off as odd to me when I read it. Parmigiani is a great brand - not well known, but an excellent watch maker.
@9tothe9thtothe9th "Worth" is hard to comment on. I'm a Seiko collector myself. The only non-Japanese watch I have is the one I reviewed on my channel.
@Clipster15 You're entitled to your opinion. But I'm sure you own something that I think is not worth the additional bucks. Perhaps you own a $50,000 SUV that in reality costs little more than a $20,000 car.
Why fuck do they water narrations for these things down below a retarded noobs IQ level!

@MrGalt I wouldn't call Panerais entry level at all; new ones range from around $5,000 up to 6 figures.

@MrGalt
Of course they won't because then you can see that they build their watches the same as a 100 dollar Seiko.
These products are so not worth the asking price.

Very nice, though I don't care what they put into it, no way a watch is worth several upon several thousands.
