@hjalmarBuoi He's saying staccato that, to put it simply, it's when's he's playing the note super short with an aggressive attack. Look it up in wikipedia so you can get a better explanation than mine. :)
@christianhansen63 He was in Mr. Big with Billy Sheehan and stuff and also Racer X, as well as playing solo, and he also played with G3 and many other epic musicians :)
@LWRCftw Korina wood, its poisonous to work with. also its both a signature model and limited edition. paul gilberts latest model uses different wood (and different electronics) and is produced in china, so thats a whole lot cheaper.
He is one of the best because he is so creative. What I like so much about Paul Gilbert's teaching style is that he encourages the student to be creative, too. A lot of guitar teachers are like, "This is the lesson and I want you to play it just like me." Well, that's great if you want to sound exactly like your teacher for the rest of your playing career but it is not for everyone. Paul Gilbert's lessons are more like, "Let's create any random rhythm and let's see what we can do with it." Cool!
Geez people are weird, the way they critisize things. He did a major sound because he wanted something that he doesn't obviously do that much. Most stuff he does is minor because he's a rock guy and a huge percentage of rock is minor. I thought it was a cool useful lesson. For those who didn't notice, his melody actually contained a Bb instead of B natural. So it was a C mixolydian melody. Or simply put, it was the sound of a C7 chord instead of a Cmaj7 chord... Very nice!
@brando18guitarplyr its the relevant minor scale to Cmajor and paul claims he knows A minor like the back of his hand, then says he's shit at Cmajor, he should know that
@joesatriani1200rulez "then says he's shit at Cmajor" he said "I'm going to do this in C major.... I'm better at C minor but i'm going to pick something i'm not so good at guitarwise" He never said he was shit at Cmajor.
To me, this is the type of stuff that really makes Paul special, and is why he is my favorite guitarist. He can shred as well as anyone, but it's the tasteful guitar playing like in this video that separates him from the other shredders

there's no reason for that guitar's price of $10,000. it's completely illogical.
