@peepeevagi Some people feel overwhelmed by the prospect of having to care for a child who will have many medical needs or will always have health problems, especially ones that aren't curable. People might not feel they have the resources or are ill-suited to help a child in this situation. And while it's sad, it's better than a needy child living with inept or unwilling parents.
