  • this video was helpful in a way ....

i still dont really get it tho -__-

  • Thank you. The video has been done using Flash software.

  • very nice video. How did you produce it? Software? Please I need to do something similar for hydrogen related project i am working on. Thanks!

  • i wanna know the chemical reason for why this works. How do sun rays get converted to electricity.

  • @kitenyos Photons (sunlight) reach the solar panel (silicon) and knock the electrons loose from the silicon which makes them produce a DC, it then goes through the wire to the inverter to be converted into AC.

  • @BlueMeteor2009 The solar panels also contain impurities of phosphorus 5 electrons on their outer shell. This allows for some electrons (when heat is applied) to move freely around as they aren't all bonded to silicon atoms. On the other side of the panel are numurous boron atoms which have 3 atoms on it's outer shell which makes it want to accept another electron. As electrons flow from one side of the panel to the other, this generates an electric field - making the panels conduct electricity.

  • @kieranhymas Didn't know that part, im just doing GCSE Physics at the moment

  • @BlueMeteor2009 Yeah that was a super condensed version of what goes on because of stupid typing limit on comments :P .. Thats cool man, i wish i did physics at school - i ended up going more chemistry biology based science after starting triple award science at GCSE level.

  • Nice Video :D

  • This is a simple explanation of how solar energy works. Harnessing the power of the sun's rays is actually a simple process and this should encourage us to use solar energy more.

  • Interesting video on the working of solar energy. Harnessing solar energy will result in significant energy savings. This is the prime reason consumers are turning to renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Both are clean energy sources and are beneficial to the environment and the economy. Pacific Crest Transformers manufactures liquid-filled distribution transformers for a wide range of industry verticals. It has many whitepapers and articles on the renewable energy market in the US.
