  • The solo itself is magnificent. But this is far from sounding Thordendal-like, mainly Meshuggah's newer stuff. You would need more extended notes, more whole-tone scale and some Allan Holdsworth clear influence too.

  • Sounds nothing like Meshuggah or Holdsworth... fail

  • Not really that Meshuggah/Holdsworth like, but good nonetheless

  • omg, un francophone qui joue du Meshuggah .. <3

Dis, tu connais pas une bonne 7 cordes à bon prix ?

  • @Tiobranlotin Schecter hellraiser C-7 .. Je l'ai en blanc .. c'est la classe et puis elle sonne vraiment bien

  • what scale do you use?

  • That shit sounded rad :-)

  • can u make some kind of tutorial?

  • what are the scales you're using for this solo? and if there are others that meshuggah uses what are they?

  • badass

  • Needs more legato/less picking for the true authentic Thordendal sound... Nevertheless, it's still very good : )

  • What's this scale called? i really want to know how to play like this!!!

  • Not enough whole tone to really sound Meshuggah-ish, but great playing none the less

  • Nice hoodie!! DEATH!!!!!

  • awesome solo dude... what scales are you using?

  • @throatguitar i think its the harmonic minor he's using

  • nice tone! and props on the shirt. Death is probably the greatest old school death metal band of all time

  • If you guys are interested in the solo style of Meshuggah, check out Allan Holdsworth.

  • @GaryCancer u wasted my fuckin time buddy, allan holdsworth is a soft old man u fuck he plays nothin like mshuggah

  • @420mofuckah Fredrik Thordendal is heavily influenced by the genius of Allan Holdsworth. you wouldnt have Meshuggah today as they are without his influence, so dont be such a closed minded cunt

  • @420mofuckah No sir you are very wrong. Fredrik Thordendal Got a huge inspiration from Allan Holdsworth's legato style playing, tone, and even scale positioning.

  • @420mofuckah Compare Meshuggah's "Acrid placidity" to Allan Holdsworth's "Toyko Dream" and tell me what you hear.

  • @Brandon75689

Just so you know, Mårten Wrote all of "Acrid placidity"

Therefore you cant really use that song in an argument about Thordendahl

  • @thenameiwantedwasnta True, But he is part of Meshuggah. Fredrik Really showed he was an influence because he made a solo album that was almost dead on. Mårten only has a Song of DEI. Which goes to show I think they all have the same mindset guitarist wise.

  • awesome!

  • That is the fuckin' shit right there! Fredriks brother from another mother

  • Which scales did you use to make this awesome solo?

  • sounds more scar symmetry than meshuggah.

    thats no insult though

  • fredrik joue beaucoup en legato, toi tu as pické toutes les notes (ou presque)

    Sinon, j'aime bien, c'était inspiré :)

  • what song is this called

  • belle guit!

  • jelous

  • Hey that's pretty good. I feel inspired after watching this. Gotta get me a wammy bar on me 7-string though. I do have one on a 6-string but meh needs both gadgets on one guitar really...

  • nice tone and fret work mate!

  • Cool guitar, nice playing, im wearing the same shirt at this moment

  • Thanks for the comment .

    Death Rules ! ;-)

  • @ExcaliburFury yes they do and so do you

  • Tu as une énorme maitrise de ce style mec, franchement continue = )

  • Merci

  • nice sweater

  • I like the "Death" t-shirt. Great band!

  • cool , continue comme sa mec ( alal vivement que j'ai ma guitare ^^ )
