@littlegermanbro play the fills slow, just by themselves, not with the song, get them in your head, then speed them up slowly, after getting confident, try it in the song. you will get it eventually

thats way too much dampening. you need to leave your drums more open. he just needs to tune it a bit higher and tighten the snare strands.
