  • I had to mention also how great the song "Over the Radio" is. It just gets stuck in your head in a way that many songs don't.

  • i swear to god this song was a triple j favourite and then lo and behold 2 years later the commercial stations gave the song the credit it deserved... weird huh?

  • Is there any vids on when they did live at the chapel///?

  • love this shit, i feel like a kid again.

  • this video should be massive. the song is one of the best of the late 90s from any band around the world at the time. its in my top 5 australian songs ever.

  • Lol Rage back in the day

  • Just heard this on the radio and finally found it. Wonderful.

  • There were quite a few Australian rock bands with chicks as lead singers back then, who can forget Killing Heidi? My mother has this CD, it's actually pretty good, I like it, I liked it a lot in 2000, I listened to it every so often back then.

  • filmclip doesn't do this song justice.. she needs to be blonde.. with the wind in her hair.. like she's obsessed.. oh the filmclip just doesn't do it justice dammit!

  • sing this in the car.. LOUD!

  • cd 2 hottest 100 number 6 i think. this turned me onto triple j when i was about 10. love it

  • @tancred27 Actually it was Hottest 1000 volume 7 CD 2. Hottest 100 volume 6 was for 1998, I know, I have most of them.

  • @Lachlant1984 cheers bull, thats when these days top it?

  • Aussie music hit it's high mark in the 90's with bands like Deadstar etc & stayed that way until the end came when the Powderfinger/Silverchair tour in 2007 ened. The best indication of the slide is the 2006 homebake was chocka's with talent. Then years after that, they wheeled out has beens & old school acts as their top acts & in 2010,homebake didn't happen because of the lack of big name acts.Today JJJ promotes crooners & folk singers & remix garbage.

  • Yep....."run baby run".......now I wonder if Spencer Tracy's "corner of my eye" is up!

  • havent heard this in 10 years. saw them play this while opening for The Whitlams at Metro in Perth in...must of been '99 i think. shame they never got the chance to kick on. cheers for the upload

  • @aussiesurfer28 That must have been an excellent show - I love the Whitlams too. Thanks for the thanks!

  • Empire of the sun Karnivool Birds Of Tokyo Eskimo Jo Pendulum Gyroscope Little Birdy John Butler Trio End Of Fashion Downsyde I think its safe to say that Australias last 10 years has been dominated by perth?
  • @AJInStereo very true

  • Great song, sadly as per usual not much recognition.

  • can someone pls upload runbaby run by deadstar? cant find it any where.

  • Can I move to Australia...you guys have awesome music...

If you guys haven't checked out The Welliingtons, due so. They're Australia's Weezer, Elvis Costello, and Fountains of Wayne all rolled into one.

  • my favourite deadstar is still valentine's day

  • This song was stuck in my head the first time i heard it back whenever

  • What memories!!...Cool music, triplej...and plasticity was frowned upon...unlike today where it is devoured.

  • I used to love this song classic hehe

  • totally agree.. an excellent song and great times had blasting it out in Bondi junction. thanks ...

  • I saw caroline in 'the plums', loved their stuff, especially Satelitte which comes out whenever i have a guitar and am drunk..

  • what happened to this band

  • Lack of record company support apparently.A shame i say, same thing happened to Lash and they were a great band also.

  • It's so hard for Australian artists - it's the the reason for this channel. The trendy 'cool' put-downs don't help, but I hope that's slowly changing.

  • @Breniznit nailed it

  • @Breniznit Good God I remember them, my step father wouldn't stop singing Take Me Away when it was popular, that must have been in 2000 or so, maybe even as late as 2001, maybe as early as 1999. Wow that's a blast from the 'past'.

  • TOP AUSSIE SONG, GREAT GUITAR RIFF!!!

  • Thanks heaps for putting this up the person who had it up previously took it down so this means alot that you put this up! 5 stars for sure.

  • i just wanna say great song and she is hot, but wat is happening to aussie music it was good now its crashing in my opinion, the stuff people are releasing now u just tihnk they didnt even try to make a good hit unlike these guys n who can forget acdc and the angels n icehouse all great aussie bands just these days there getting worse.

  • I think there's still good Australian music around but radio stations play such a limited range of genres. I wish there was more good live music played and sung by real musicians, especially on CDs! Hopefully the fashions witll change soon.

  • yeh i guess i mean the butterfly affect are a really great band infact my fav aussie band besides acdc lol

  • @guitarledgend1990

Dude there is tons of great Aussie music at the moment. I actually thought the opposite, whre after a 10-15 year slump we are finally starting to get some good stuff again.

  • this is awesome I have been searching for the singers and the actually title of thissong for a couple of years, and then I heard it played at just jeans and thought wow , I have so got to get it , thanks to google and other I now have it , cheers and Yes Us Aussies have pumped out so many awesome artist and music , well done .

  • So much great music and it's so hard to get it out to the rest of the world. That's the reason for this channel. Thanks for commenting.

  • love this song and Deadstar - Run baby run but i cant find Run baby Run by them

  • I thought I had Run Baby Run too but haven't been able to find it yet. I'm sorry it's weirdly compressed - all clips are made the same way but they come out differently at times.

  • I loved this song when it first came out - I have so many memories to this song - thanks for putting it on here!

  • aussie music at its best!!

  • even better is that this drummer is now my music teacher :)
