  • @virtuallyishan Soon! We are working on the next one as well as our new drill catalogue.

  • How do you get better with your dribble while in motion?

  • @mr2fresh21 Well to improve any of your skills it is all about spending the time to practice this type of dribbling!! Practice, practice and the practice some more.

  • FINNALY A TEACHER THAT MAKE SENCE!!

  • @TheExtrmeboy Thanks so for your very nice comment. We really try to make our videos as useful as possible.

  • The guy at 2:44 looks like the main character from goodfellas

  • @hookerwithapenis00 Hmmmm! Maybe!

  • HI! just wanted to know if there are any drills that doesnt require me to bounce the ball as i am only free at night and im afraid i might wake up my neighbours if i dribble. If possible any drill related to improving my in beetween the legs dribble, behind the back and cross over as this are the ones i can do but need to work on it a lot. Thanks!

  • @Vath01Fly You can use all the drills you have mentioned.

  • lol arm shield in b-ball sound like Disney channel

  • oh

  • thanks going to try this tommorw in school

  • @TFBRO This is great, but remember, all of these skills take some time to develop and be usable when you play. Thanks to you for your nice comment.

  • @ShotScience how can you improve your speed while you dribble

  • @NestorEs18 you have to work on your speed and quickness and then up your intensity when performing dribbling sprints.

  • @ShotScience Thanks, I'm planning to join the basketball team next year and need a lot of practice XD

  • @DudeProblemMeMuch Get on it today!!!!! Do not let another minute go bye without thinking about or practicing you skill! If you wait it may be too late!

  • @ShotScience Thanks a lot for the motivation :)

  • @DudeProblemMeMuch Glad we could offer some help!

  • Hi Tom and the folks at ShotScience...just wanted you to know these videos are greatly appreciated by myself and my daughter and we are ordering shirts to show our support...thank you and keep 'em coming...

  • @ElHajjMalikElShabbaz thank you SO much for your very kind comment! We truly love to hear that the videos we're making are helping young people and their parents, too! We actually ran out of shirts a while back and are in the process of making new ones with another new design. Hold tight because we'd love to have you guys representing Team Shot Science!

  • When are you guys gonna upload dribbling drills!? I need help with weak hand dribbling... :[

  • @MarkMarkalicious We are working on getting these drills going for our newAPP. It takes time to get these done and keep regular jobs. Have patience with us.

  • I can't dribble with my left hand it's my least dominate hand when I switch hands and switch over to the right the ball would slip out my hand I guess I got to keep practicing with my left hand I need to learn how to do the underleg trick that's the thing I never tried doing but I know I can do it if I tried.

  • @Funnymw2Fails Well the way to get better with your weak hand is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE and then PRACTICE some more!!! These is no secret, just work. The move you seem to be talking about is probably the Scissor Dribble. Check out our video play list and this will show you the important elements of the dribble.

  • wow i didnt know i was supposed to bend my knees. o.o 7 years of basketball and coach never once pointed it out

  • @devilhorns595 of course you have to bend your knees!! Athletic Postition!! Get to work!!

  • Hi ShotScience, so if I'm in this dribbling position, protecting the ball and fending off the defender with the off hand, what are some things I can do from here to beat him? In your other excellent videos, you start in triple-threat (long 1, jab step) or running at the defender. What are some options from here?

  • @jjames2b we have tons posted on our channel. Check out our "Dribble Attacks," "Finishes at the Rim," etc.

  • @ShotScience Thanks, I did look at the dribble attacks. It's effective to start those moves from this stationary dribbling position? Just drop the lead foot to face up to the defender, and go?

  • @jjames2b James the first thing anytime you attack the defender is to "make them Defend." In other words attack them aggressively and then execute your move. They usually will over-run your move and make it easy to get by them. Check out Jeremy Lin's move on John Wall on his cross-over far a great example.

  • I get the ball ripped a lot from me and I can't control it very well. Is it because I don't hold the ball long enough when it comes back up in the dribble motion?

  • @onemogain23 We would guess that you probably are NOT POUNDING THE BALL on your dribble. If you are not then the ball becomes lazy and easier to get a hand on. Pound the Ball!

  • nice

  • @bradley5838 Thanks for your very nice comment and please stay tuned and "Spread the Word."

  • When I was younger my uncle told me to watch the guys hips because that will show you where he is going. Is that true? Or should I keep my eyes on the field

  • @DSpyder08 not sure if you're talking about when you're on defense or offense...

  • @ShotScience defensively, I would think that offensively it would be a bad idea to watch your opponents hips

  • @DSpyder08 This is true!

  • @shotscience why is it that when I dribble between the legs, the handcuff effect occurs ?

  • @Jael1625 It's really hard to say unless you can get us a video so we can see what you are doing. We would be stabbing in the dark!

  • great!

  • @MzVanessaz thanks!!!

  • Hey I'm a decent dribbler but I don't get how I can run and keep my knees bent. Any advice?

  • @XWantAPwnyX Practice is the answer!!!!!

  • @ShotScience

1st i'd like to start by saying that this was a really helpful video!!! But lately ive been having a really aggravating problem. i play basketball on my highschool JV team and everyday we scrimmage against the varsity team, there is this one kid on varsity that no matter how i try to get around him he just steals the ball from me without even trying. He tells me that im not dribbling low enough or protecting the ball, but when i do dribble low and protect the ball using the "arm b

  • @stingrae1232771 A couple of problems you may be having trouble with are dribbling the ball too tall. Waist high is the best and secondly, you want to pound the ball so that it comes back to your hand quickly. Using the arm bar is fine for protecting the ball.

  • I have been watching these videos everyday. I take my brother's iphone to the park just to watch them and practice right after because I do better doing not just watching and then trying it later. Also I keep on having the problem of when i don't have eye contact on the ball like when I am defending it just trails off or bounces on my foot. I just can't get that dribbling motion yet. I really want to make the school's team and they are offering basketball camp. Any tips on bball camp?

  • @bamazudi Well, the most important thing to remember is to "POUND THE BALL" when you dribble as this helps control. Practicing your ball handling with your eyes up is essential for better control. It is mostly about "PRACTICE, PRACTICE and then some more PRACTICE!"

  • they should make a video of how to make your left hand stronger

  • @Cianna304 No need to make a video for the left hand. Just use the same elements of dribbling and do a ton of PRACTICE!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for all the help from these vids, today I managed to get 9 steals and 21 points in my game thanks to you guys at shot science.

  • @WhatArePrawnBalls We are so pleased for you and we hope you continue to develop the game. We are also very happy that our videos were of assistance to you.

  • You should make a tutorial of the eurostep

  • @fishingmasterxy We plan to do this sometime in the future!

  • The arm bar is boss

  • @CJUeda Absolutely keeps that guy off you. It must be tight and strong!

  • I used to play basketball......then I took an arrow to the knee....

  • How do you know if you're using your palm or your finger pads?

  • @eqzuestas Look at it! Feel it! It is that simple!Q

  • Hey coach im having problem guarding the ball when im backing down the post in other words im not good at the low post I am also having trouble making a shot in the traffic always seems to get blocked any tips to my problems? Would be really greatful! I want to join our school's basketball team :|

  • @Vath01Fly Ball handling is all about practice and nothing more. Check out our Video "Finishes at the Rim" for making shots at the basket.

  • Im good at handling balls, Oh wait they're talking about basketballs, my mistake :/

  • @unlukyPker Come on now!!! That is not very nice!!!

  • So i naturally play the forward position but i am wanting to transition and play guard what steps can i take to do this...i am an okay shooter from all around and i can somewhat handle the ball but i know that there is more to it than shooting and dribbling any tips??

  • @EuphoniumBaller14 Develop all of your offensive skills and play as much as you can. Try join a Club team so you can p lay in the off-season. It is all about skills and then learning how to use them.

  • Hi.. this is a random q but could you have a video of how to dunk? I'm getting to where I'm jumping around there but I feel like I'm not stepping right or something.. so I wasn't sure if there was some kind of technique

  • @Ruledover125 Probably do something in the Spring on Dunking.

  • Have you done a video on passing or defense

  • @elmborg11 Check our ply list on our YT channel!

  • That's ok they are not used in a game so it's ok . merry new year

  • Thank you for the tips

  • @elmborg11 You are very welcome.

  • Thank you for the tips

  • Thanks I went to the gym today and worked on my shots. While I was shooting I shot this trick shot were you are on one foot at the three point line and I went 3-6 can you make a vid on some trick shots for fun or somthing

  • @elmborg11 Sorry, we are not into trick shots! we will stay with basic basketball.

  • Hi again just wondering will you do a vid on three pointers because you get alot of high fives from making 3s

  • @elmborg11 We will do it!

  • Shotscience I seem to be having problem while playing.....the problem is that i feel too scared(literally!!) to go head on head with the opponent with the fear of losing the ball..!>!>!>..

    Any suggestions??

  • @dmnkllr22 O.K.! Let's get this straight right now!!!! There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of the opponent. Your real fear is that of failure. You need to learn to deal with this as life itself is full of failure for all of us. Some are small and so not so small. In basketball your fear is that of your peers. You are afraid that if you fail they will hold you in low regard. Work on your skills really hard and you will become more competitive and your fears will go away.

  • @ShotScience Yeah you told exactly what i had in "the other side of my mind" ....!!!!!

but how can i get rid of this fear ---->>ASAP-??

  • @dmnkllr22 Check the last sentence for the solution!!!! ASAP

  • @ShotScience Yeah I dint realize it the last time I read it.!! Thanks guyz..

  • Nice job guys I am 11 so me and my league are not very good with shot %any tips thanks

  • @elmborg11 Work on those averages no matter how old you are!

  • Everytime I try to dribble down the court,I always get fouled for double-dribble.:(

  • Great Material! very profecional...Thanks Guys!!!

  • @maunicomar09 thanks again for very nice comments. These are the main reason for us to provide these for young developing players. Are you a coach or father? Thanks again.

  • @ShotScience I am a coach and father, but thet only problem is that my son is lazy...We are from Argentina and we love Basketball and now I am Asutralian and here the are plenty beatiful court to play so here is 100% more easy to became profeccional, but If you dont have the Passion... is a waste of time .

Thanks for your material guys!! I hope we keep the comunication as it is.

    God bless you guys.

  • @maunicomar09 we are really pleased to hear from you and we hope you stay in touch with us. It is possible your son will change his attitude and become more interested in BB. Let's hope so! Let us know how things are going.

  • erm how can we practice left hand layup?

  • @CommunistChocolate Please go to our video "Layups 101" and follow the instructions for either hand!

  • Thx Shotscience I guess both ways will help me and I believe in what you said

  • @MrVman202 this is good!

  • @Shotscience like how to dribble the ball in one place straight down or in a circular motion?? Really need help please

  • @MrVman202 This is easy. If you spend time working on your ball handling it will become very good for you. Ball handling is about spending time working on both hands in many different situations.

  • Hey Shot Science,

How can i consistently score in the block. I seem to get the ball down there a lot but when i put up my shot, i miss. I think i seem to rush because i don't want to get blocked. Please help

  • @cmordi4 Please review our video "Finishes at the Rim." This should help you remedy this problem.

  • Hey shotscience i play basketball but i can be blocked very easy :( when i am ready to shot someone comes and blocks my shoot please answer to this comment!

  • @xaralabosful Probably because you take too long to get your shot off or have not created enough space for it before trying to shoot. Check our videos on this topic.

  • @ShotScience Ok thanks a lot!

  • @xaralabosful you are very welcome. We hope this has helped you.

  • @ShotScience Yeah!

  • keep making videos lm getting better and i can touche the rim on the basketball cort all because i saw that video how jump higher thanks ShotScience

  • @namewhat122 Glad this is all working out for you. Stay tuned for more videos.

  • HI Shotscience, I am 12 years old, and I am not at all strong, do you have any tips on how I can pound the ball, or gain upper body strength??

  • @MrJumboshrimp13 The best way is to begin "pounding the ball" and find out how hard you can pound it and still maintain control. Push-ups and low weight curls would be good.

  • would you dribble faster and harder the faster you are moving?

  • @m3v2p Dribbling faste requires that we push the dribble out in front of our body. It does not need to be faster.

  • I thought that any contacts on the arm means foul on the defender.

I like that part though where you clench tightly, with powerful arms to protect it rather than weak arms.

  • @JustFlew Contact on the arm does not necessarily mean a foul. There are things that you do with your hands or arm that do mean a foul even though not always called. The fist is a very important key to using the Arm Bar and protecting your dribble.

  • 2:20 - 2:28 = No Foul?!

  • @JustFlew Typically this Arm Bar is NOT a foul unless you extend your arm to push the defender away.

  • 2:16 WHAT A MUSCLE!

  • @JustFlew Casey does have rather awesome arms! No?

  • shotscience is the best!!!!!

  • @MrVershawn123 Thanks so much and please help us by "Spreading the Word."

  • @monnyg1 This sounds like a PLAN!!!

  • nice you've got exactly what i was looking for. Thank you so much !!

  • @xXSHIELDX Glad we could be of assistance. Stay tuned for more.

  • awesome video dude.helped me a lot

  • @JamManMr Thank you so much. We really appreciate your comment and please "Spread the Word."

  • Thanks a million coach

  • @Lmclean89 You are very welcome and please "Spread the Word."

  • THANK YOU COACH!

  • @joeycasimir7777 You are very welcome.

  • @TheBballJunkie You will notice a big improvement in a few weeks if you commit the time to develop the weak hand.

  • @ShotScience thanks coach!

  • @TheBballJunkie You are very welcome!

  • Nice

  • @TheWoopycat Thanks!!!

  • ShotScience should make an Apple App Store App. Including the a drill library and all of these videos. Can you do that? I would be extremely thankful.

  • I have not been able to dribble worth nothin. Embarrassing. This is the first video I've seen that may finally make a difference. THANKS!

  • @mwbillups Well, we are really pleased to hear this. That is the point of our videos. Thanks.

  • Coaches, just a back up question to my man defy, the wrist of the smaller guy doesn't seem to flex it just seems that he is driving down the ball with a powerful extension of the elbow and his wrist was just going up and down and not flexing or is it just that his dribbling was too fast that i can't see the flexing and all i can see it the up and down motion of the wrist?

  • @definegreatness There is less flexing when you are driving the ball downward. The wrist does get more involved when you are not "Pounding the ball."

  • @ShotScience Thanks a lot coaches.I appreciate the effort and time to reply.Peace

  • Coach, What are some dribbling drills that can improve my dribbling skills?

  • @spidermanangel93 Use the information on this video for drills to work on to develop your ball skills. We are working on a drill library to come out after the first of the coming year.

  • coaches, how do you actuall snap your wrist when dribbling? You can't actually snap it because when you are pounding the ball and keeping it low there is not enough space to snap the wrist like the one when you're doing a follow through when shooting.

  • @defygreatness It is not a sanpping of the wrist, but a flexing of the wrist as you push the ball toward the floor. It is not like when you are shooting.

  • @ShotScience Thank you coaches very much for replying now i understood it

  • I am just starting out with basketball as a sophomore hoping to make the girls JV team, and this really helped a lot. I'm doing everything I can to get there, and I'll do anything once I'm there. Thanks so much!

  • @LUCICx17 Let us know if we can help you out. Good luck!

  • hey coach, how long does it take to master dribbling in both hands?

  • @SuperDreamers23 If you work on it every day for 30 minutes you will be surprised at how quickly your weak hand comes around. It's all about taking the practice time to develop all aspects of your game.

  • How can I stop getting the ball stolen from me when dribbling? They just strip me so easy. What can I do better?

  • @onemogain23 There are usually two things that create problems for us when we dribble. First we do not "POUND THE BALL" when we dribble and so the dribble is slow. The second thing is we tend to dribble the ball "TOO TALL". Waist high and pound the ball is best. You will find this info in this video.

  • How low am I suppose to get when dribbling? I often feel too low or too high how can I find the right way? And how can do move faster when dribbling?

  • @onemogain23 the proper height of your body is pretty much determined by what you are doing. Having a nice athletic stance with the knees bent is pretty good. Learning to go faster is all about confidence in your ability to take care of the BB.

  • excellent video - I'll be using this to teach my 6 and 8 year old kids. Thanks much!

  • @tmaretzki Thank you so much for your support and we are very pleased that we could offer you some things that you can use to teach your young-ins.

  • My coach mentioned that when i dribble the ball, i should "cuff" it. He said some guy invented this, and is used in the nba. Is this a good dribbling teqnique too?

  • @NinjaCOOKIEZZ74 "Cuffing" the ball is unknown to us. Who was the guy who invented this? There are often things that people push that are just a wild ideas. Let us know and we will check it out.

  • when are you guys going to make the dribbling drills video??

  • @azndude1337 we are working on a complete Drill package that we hope to have av available after the first of the year.

  • is the arm bar considered a foul? cuz im new to basketball and it seems rlly helpful so plz answer
