I cant believe mac thinks helmuth is the best player ever, haha you donk! Helmuth won the World Series when there were hardly any players in the event compared to now. To win it back then was a joke compared to the 2000s-2010s
@learnfromhistory1 Well, number one, he finished 2nd three times this year, a record. Secondly, he won 5 bracelets in the 2000's. Also, If you think it was a joke to win it back then when 99% of the field were among the best at that time, I'd rather play now with 90% donks than back then. Is he the best overall player, no. But he is among the top 5 tournament players of all time.
Hear about reference codes? Me never until one week ago I made big buck from it with no sweat atall. Just entered the code FILM in fulltiltpoker and got $600 bonus! Poker was a challenge for me but now I got the hang of it cuz was easy to
Allright dude... lets play sometime my FTP username is buraze9405 :]

Full Tilt just announced to their facebook fans that new players should go to FTPs web site, then register an account with the code AMERICAS.
It really is a great bonus offer. Make a deposit and they DOUBLE it also a few other awesome perks. It is only going work for the first 3000 players that sign up with it
Ever hear about referral codes? I haven't until one week ago I made big cash from it with no sweat atall. Just entered the code FILM on fullTiltPoker and got $ 600 ! Poker was new for me but now I got the hang of it cause was easy to understand.
phil put his bet in and said 'this is a bluff' then went crazy when he called! Actually i think the guy mightve folded to the second bullet if phil hadnt said that.
if i ever get to play on the same table as phil......ill make sure i bring a babies dummy just for big phil to suck on when he losses a donkey hand...lol
yeah but heads up what kind of hand preflop is he raising with that has a 6? a straight is a hard hand to put him on. a flush is far more likely, but the overbet is a trap. overbetting stinks more of a bluff than a value bet. the 55 call isn't that bad. he can beat something like KK that just wants to bluff (yes KK is a bluff, nothing that it beats is calling)
maybe the guy who played against phil was bad player, but maybe he is having fun when playing like that and phil steals his fun :( and if phil would have hit his flush then he would say how good he is. i think even if phil is good player, he does not show that he understands that variance is part of poker so he doesn't look more clever than his opponent
Hellmuth is an idiot. He talks like there's only one way to play the game and he is the only one that knows it. If he is the only one that knows how to play how can he expect people to do what he would do?
no it wasn't jacob. im sure u wouldnt be saying that if u didn't know wat the other guy had. plus, he has the reputation to be aggressive and he's shown his bluffs in the past. shows how much u know.
I don't see how any of you can like Phil at all. Would you still think he is funny if he was calling you an idiot. I'd kick him in his teeth. I don't care how many bracelets he's won. Doesn't mean you can act like a that.
I've watched all kinds of poker videsI think Phil is a bad ass at his craft and I respect the fact he is a great player. But you can't tell me that the way he acts is too extreme and if you are as great as he is, would you act the same way?
Of course I think it's way over the top, and I could never berate other players like he does. However, it's become his trademark and I suppose it helps his business (booksales, contracts etc). I think its easier for him to lose it when everyone keeps expecting him to.
Johnny's, Ladie's, Kangs and Jokers Rule the game we know as poker Time to flip the hat, and pop on the shades Lets begin wit da ace of spades Deadly, primal, and easy on the eyes But never over-estimate itz power and size Very rarely raise with pocket ducks You will find yourself broke and shit out of luck Two sixes may look medicore and weak But always chase to complete the mark of the beast If you get too excited with Dead man's hand You will soon find yourself in no-man's land
At 5:52 Matusow bets 6,000. At the beginning of the show it says that blinds are 4,000 and 8,000, which would make that 6,000 illegal. I'm guessing this hand was before the blinds rose?
Im with you on that, an all in or a big bet on the river and the guy probably would have went away.if not he would have to make a ridiculous call with his pair of 5s
even if the guy did call it would stiil be worth betting - u dont just give up on a 180k pot after representing A twice already,if helmuth bets 100k at the river worst case scenario is the guy is full up and reraises u(the pot was practically a double up for helmuth if he wins) HE MUST BET THAT RIVER to have a chance of winning
The only problem is that the guy represented a weak ace. Hellmuth must have thought he was getting called after the other guy called a reraise on the turn.
It's easy because we see the cards, but I would have put the guy on a weak ace, and I'm pretty sure I would have checked in this situation.
well i would of bet - i hope - i know how easy it is to talk about rather than execute and im a helmuth fan but i wish he had more aggression in his game
"poker is everything except the cards" said by ivey or chan (cant remember). but back to the main point, w/o calling stations playing poker. there probably will not be pros and poker websites raking in millions annually. and for small timers like me to profit in the long run. nutshell you really sounded like you are a fish LOL
Because of the way he played his flushdraw, the other guy couldn't put him on that hand. That's why he got paid of big time. It was a "flushdraw in disguise". And yes this is an example of implied odds. If you just check and call towards your flush according to the pot odds you will never get paid like Ramdin in this situation.

leolauzon 3 years ago
then probably your a losing player. most of the profit comes from fishes else poker is a sunset industry
bookieko 3 years ago
Lol
Just calculate the pots odds of calling 43 000$ in 172 000$, look at % he had to get his flush, and then come back talk to me.
Or not, if you can't understand such a simple concept and still call people "losing players", then you'll never understand.

that must have been around 18% of his stack......
tidusquall10x 3 years ago
yeah he got owned.
:P
adimsimplease2000 3 years ago
It was a good call--he had good implied odds as evidenced by the fact that he got paid off nicely when he hit his flush.
jondoe19 3 years ago
So what's the maximum percentage you can call a nice draw with oh "wise" one?
ScreenJunkie 3 years ago
Well the fact that it wasn't even close to the nut flush draw also played into it.
I would say a good percentage for calling on a draw is like 10% of a stack, but that is my opinion and I guess just my playing style.
tidusquall10x 3 years ago
Euh... No.
he bet 32 000$ and called to 75 000$, which means 43 000$ more. It is a good call.
People who call other donks without being able to fully understand a situation are so funny.
leolauzon 3 years ago
Because of the way he played his flushdraw, the other guy couldn't put him on that hand. That's why he got paid of big time. It was a "flushdraw in disguise". And yes this is an example of implied odds. If you just check and call towards your flush according to the pot odds you will never get paid like Ramdin in this situation.
