I started to have problems after a bug from a holiday in Turkey. After 5 years of pain and trips to the hospital trying one drug to another i was finally told i had Ulcerative colitis. This is a nightmare. i
had an iliostomy in 1999 and have just had my rectal stump removed. still healing but on the mend NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT!good luck to everyone thats got it email me for help or questions or worries
I've had UC for 7 yrs and am on Imuran. I have recently received treatment from an alternative GP who advises that I can eventually lessen the severity of the UC and no longer require the use of any harmful drugs by having a liver cleanse every 3 months. Our body is reacting to allergies so the obvious thing to do is try and reverse it. The more stones you remove by cleansing the fewer allergies. Do everything you can before you succumb to surgery. Once its gone you can't get it back.
so bad that there was no improvement after one year. I read here on you tube that smoking cures
UC. So I smoked Djarum clove cigs and I have zero problems now. I smoked for a few months and quit. I stop taking my meds as soon as I was regular. It's been 9 months. Thank God
I have been getting sick for a long time sometime it manages to stop and it will start back up its been happening since I was a kid. I occassionally get fevers and the drs...don't seem to know what it is..i get bounced from dr to dr. I finally got to see a gastroenterologist and he thinks I may have Chrons disease or Ulcerative colitis. I have to have some tests to find out for sure but I sure am tired of being sick all of the time :-(
3 capsules of 500 mg daily or you can also take UMF 10+ mANUKA hONEY 500gr ...also it is recomendable to be tested if you have a bacteria inside of you called HELYCOBACTER PYLORI ..for this the doctor can help you giving you a medicine than can kill it , since this bacteria generates ulcers...
when i had an ulcer something that helped me really a lot was a helthier diet, took ranitidine 300 a day and took 3 capsules of mastic gum daily it helped me really tremendously it is proven that mastic gum cures ulcers.....
For all those with active lifestyles who feel robbed of the ability to perform physically when suffering with UC, remember that the bright side is still there once success is aciehved. You'll pull through the hardship and bounce back! I promise. Regards.
I just want to extend my support to the people in posting in here... although it may feel like the end in some ways, it really isn't. Eventually, you will be cured, whether it's a remission achieved through medication and possible lifestyle changes or a successful surgery, and once that success is achieved, you can make a physical comeback. I have some videos on my profile of myself doing some things in the gym and I have UC!
Yeah I was diagnosed with UC when I was 18, I am going on my 22nd birthday right now. This is a great video... I have been taking Asacol, and it has helped, but I did some research and I ordered AloeElite today, I hope it works better - its something more natural. God bless you all that have to suffer with this disease, but do not give up, God gave us one life and we have to live it to the fullest, so raise your heads up, and fight.
I was diagnosed a little over a year ago and went on the SCD diet. It saved my life!!! Go check it out before you consider having anything removed. Search for specific carbohydrate diet on google. THousands have experienced incredible success. I was off my meds within 6 months of the diet. I've been meds free for at least 8 months now. Check my blog of the progress beginning with the diagnosis through the first year on the diet. check for the username colitisking on blogspot.
I have UC, also a complication of UC- Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, and portal vein thrombosis. I am not sure how many also have the two other diseases, it's great to know that there are so many people out there that are willing to share there stories too.
I have UC had it very bad after initial diagnosis but in last few years lots of water some probiotic drinks fresh fruit and veg and exercise helps greatly remian very positive also towards it its not the end of the world
Thank You..I have had UC for 15 months and I don't feel alone now. I am glad we are alll sharing our stories. My UC got alitte better with the use of some herbs on top of the Gastro Dr. meds that don't work for me either. Contact me if anyone has anything to share. Let us know when we can see that whole documentry. I have subscribed.
i was diagnosed UC two month ago, i still have my colon, but it hurts so much. i´m afraid of removing it. what can i do? can you help me? i wanted to go to the military, but they don´t want a girl with UC. i lost my hopes, i lost my health.. i´m crying everyday.. i lost my life.
Stop crying and start fighting! You can control your UC by finding out what is exactly causing your allergy. Your first step is to understand your disease and do as much research as you can. Start with a liver cleanse and remove dairy, sugar, alcohol and anything else that may be causing a problem Take Lactobac and drink lots of water.
Whats up with the attitude? This sufferer is obviously expressing her opinion and I respect that. With an ignorant attitude like yours it is no wonder you are finding it hard to beat this disease. Take in suggestions and don't complain.
Just because you have the disease does not necessarily make you an expert on the condition. Take on this new information with an open mind. I am no expert and I admit that. I hope you respect my advice.
I guess i did sound a little harsh there. when I had U.C it was so bad that my bowel had perforated, I had to have an emergency colectomy. I was about 4 hours away from death. I don't mean to sound too grave but once you have U.C you've got it for life, some are lucky and go into remission, some like me are not.
The thing about all of the drugs and diet control is that even when they do work it dosen't cure U.C. The drugs poison your immune system, and the controlled dietjust removes things that are hard to digest, or cause problems under normal circumstances. i Understand that it can have different levels of severity, for some its a minor convience, for others one huge struggle.
anyway my point is that would the doctors let me (and everyone else who has U.C) suffer for months, years even a lifetime if changing your diet could cure you?
Hey, when can we see the whole document? It looks really great!!! I am 15 years old and was diagnosed when i was 12. Had surgery to remove my colon, MUCH BETTER now. But, yeah, i would LOVE to see the whole thing.
I had the sugery and the bag and stuff like that. I feel heaps better, forgot I even had the diesase and I'm only 7 months from surgery! You can message me if you have any questions. :-)

Hi Klein, I sent you a PM - I am in the exact same situation as you - also diagnosed 2 months ago!
I used to be very active - into martial arts, swimming, jogging etc etc. Now I can't do anything - the UC drains me everyday.

I have it too, and it has ruined my activeness as well. Diagnosed about 1.5 years ago my social, soccer, and lacrosse life has been ruined by it.
