The occupy movement needs a person that can be identified as a leader, the message is not focused. As well don't let people with limited speaking skills that look like they just crawled out of a ditch get on TV and try to present the world with your message, they look like idiots and make the movement look like it's lead by a bunch of homeless crackheads. The people that want you to look like fools are doing a good job. Get your shit together, focus your message and you might have a chance.
@stewgotz1 The Occupy movement is in it's infancy. In 1962 anti war protesters were sparse in number & the protesters were pelted with rotten fruit & garbage, but because of the draft waking us up, we grew. Fast forward 10 years & you had FRED HAMPTON, ELDRIDGE CLEAVER, HEWEY NEWTON, MARK RUDD, MARIO SAVIO, ABBIE HOFFMAN, WILLIAM KUNTSLER,BILL AYERS, JERRY RUBIN, etc.
Only time will tell if this current generation of Americans can unify & continue the revolution.
I remember back then. I was more worried about getting some lovin from my girlfriend than anything else. Yeah the world is still just as screwed up as it was back then. NEWS FLASH !!! Lovin is better than it ever was and everything else don't mean nothing !!!!! Enjoy the music and your life and loved ones.
@7323cody No.t is a tribute to the world wide youth revolution that happened in the comming of age of the modern elder generation in the formative years
Its only a matter of time now before whats going on in Egypt hits the mainland here In the US and trust they will not be able to contain it at all. The system is antiquated and flawed time to re-write the Revolution.
I used to be a political conservative and ardent supporter of the Vietnam War until I heard this song in high school. Then came Bloody Sunday in Belfast, Occupied Ireland, and the shootings at Kent State University in Ohio. Since then, I have been a left wing radical. BTW, I can't stand liberal democrats.
@004burke I agree.Liberal democrats talk a good game, but they never put their money where their mouth is, they lean too far to the right, & there never there when it comes to a fight.
Democrats "....support the left, but they're leanin', leanin', leanin' to the right"
@cleaverzl Perhaps that's because progressives are not known for having a lot of money, and the ones who do are advocating for the ones who don't. Things are changing radically. Occupy will be back in full force in the spring and they have many friends in high places. Democrats think for themselves, thus the varied positions our politicians take. We do not go in lock-step with our party leaders. The republican party is in total disarray, desperate because they have no new ideas to run on.
@004burke You don't have to be a radical liberal to be radically anti-war, but you do to be economically insane. It's all about anarcho-capitalism; the radical *and * practical solution... So you can still enjoy songs like these :)
@004burke I took a test once in HS that assigned me as a left leaning centrist, which alludes I understand your POV, but radical bleeding hearts bleed the country dry just as must as radical rightists that bleed the country dry with wars. I agree Vietnam was only a retaliatory war that was needless, as is the current Iraq war, but being "rad" solves nothing in the end. Look at a zombie apocalypse; radical communism would thrive when necessary and then fall apart when immanent danger isn't there.
@vinner38 actually, that is what we wanted to do to you. The slogan of the day was, "Up against the wall, Mothger F#cker" in reference to when we lined you up for the firing squad after the revolution.
@vinner38 Mc Vey was a Tea Party Crazy before his time. My loyalties go more toward the Weatherman & those that attacked the military complex. McVey killed office workers & children. Those I supported attacked the Pentagaon at risk of loosing their lives.
Those "Draft Dodgers & hippies" were the DRAFT RESTSTERS that".. refused to follow the traitors to Humanity as they marched them off to prison in this land of Liberty." "There they marched for you & me."
@cleaverzl you are one ignorant f*ck! typcial nostalgic moron who espouses ideologies he knows nothing about. the weather underground systematically targeted and BLEW PEOPLE UP WHO THEY DISAGREED WITH! The only difference between them and islamic terrorists are the body counts! i doubt you were alive during the 60's, so stop pretending you were. if you were, you were asleep. get some brains before you talk about stuff you know nothing about-or is that possible with a wannabe radical? pathetic
@cleaverzl revolution-what an idiot. up against the wall was a slogan imitating what the cops said before arresting people. you wannabes need to understand that the real protest movement, started by dr. martin luther king, abhorred violence. even when faced with dogs, water cannons, and billy clubs, they did not fight back. the anti vietnam protests started the same way. it was when the yippies started getting violent is when the police moved in. No friggin firing squad. LEARN YOUR HISTORY.

Great song, horrible, unending, useless piano solo! I'm sorry but it just ruins this brilliant song.
