  • OH WOW!..and Tex Ritter also! Thanks for the posting!

  • one of the bluegrass greats

  • andy and cliff johnson did this one when we played to geather

  • Назад в 50-ые,срочно!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No effort at all for this guy he has talent galore, Wayne

  • I have been hearing for several years that Dennis Quaid was going to make the Spade Cooley movie. I think it would make a great movie. But not much progress seems to be forthcoming.

  • I love Dennis Quaid and any movie he is in is usually a good one. It would be nice to see him in a "musical" . However, after reading of how Spade killed his wife I have second thoughts about even seeing a movie about the very popular band leader of yesteryear. If Dennis wants to play a real life musician maybe he could play Tex Ritter - he had an eventful life and was very well thought of I believe. -Paula

  • Mac is awesome, Great Voice.

  • Cool!!

  • One of the greatest singers ever, Wayne

  • I just found a 78 record at a yard sale today, on the Bogan label. It's recorded by Charlie's Square D Boys, and is called by Charlie Bogan. Seems to be a hi-fi 78, maybe early 1950's. Thanks for the great video!!

  • Friend of mine who used to play with a bunch of bluegrass acts covers this song and introduced me to it. Couldn't always quite put my finger on the genre. Mac Wiseman is pretty unique. Also a Prine fan.

  • I have every record that Mac ever made, on 45's. I love the recording of Fire in my Heart

  • Mac suffered from the curse of being too good at too many styles. He was too country for the folk and old time shows and a little to folky for the hard core country acts. He was -- and is -- one of the greatest of all the entertainers and singers. What a voice. Instantly recognizable and able to sing just about anything. He should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame as well as the Bluegrass Hall of Honor.

  • I agree wholeheartedly with you that Mac should be in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Bluegrass Hall of Honor. The last time I heard him sing was only a few years ago and his voice never changes. He is a true treasure and I never tire of listening to him. His unique voice and st yle really stand out especially in today's country/bluegrass scene. I am glad to see this performance here of Mac and the guys and gals in their western outfits. He looks quite classy too. I do love him.-Paula

  • @PaulinaRena Mac is in the bluegrass hall of honor he was elected in 1987.

  • My favorite song that Mac does

  • I love that old country music. So awesome! Real talent...Thanks for posting this clip. I really enjoyed it.

  • He new how to sing those "old Tyme' songs

  • "The voice with a heart"

  • Who's the blonde lady fiddle player? Joe Maphis's wife, Roselee, or Spade Cooley's wife, Ella Mae.(And I can't believe Dennis Quaid and Katie Holmes are seriously being considered to play Spade and Ella Mae in a movie)

  • Fiddlin' Kate Warren plays the Fiddle in Joe Maphis' band.

  • Did anyone else recognize the announcer as Tex Ritter...the father of John Ritter? I haven't seen that face and heard that voice in ages.

  • if prine plays with this guy, he was worth a look, thanx jon.

ps check out my moon video on uTu: BLUEMOON

  • his voice is calm and clear as a bell, and one of my childhood memories.

  • WOW i'm soo happy to know that this many people still love Mac Wiseman!!!!

  • Mac Wiseman and Marty Robbins were on tour and on a trip from El Paso to Phoenix. During the trip, Marty wrote the song, "El Paso" Mac and Marty were good friends.

  • Fabulous! And cool to watch Joe Maphis backing him on guitar.

  • This is cool....I have a great rendition by Webb Pierce somewhere...not video though.

  • This is the youngest Mac Wiseman that I've ever seen. Thanks a lot.I met him in Alabama once and took a ton of pictures with him,as fate would have it they were all lost in hurricane Katrina. He's a great singer ,songwriter. Thanks again
