These guys are spot on. They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I think that if Syd and Rick would come back from the dead and see these guys, they would smile. For all intents and purposes, they may be smiling from heaven as I write.
Can you blame Roger Waters for writing such a great song as this. His inspiration is having grown up with and being in the presence of definitely one of the most important writers, (astonishing skill with words) and innovative guitarists from any genre of music. The inimitable Syd Barrett.
I discovered PF in the Summer of '69 at a frat party. It was Ummagumma. I was blown away! Sadly, Syd wasn't with the band by then. I also heard Syd's earlier influences on Astronomy Domine and Intersteller Overdrive. Equally powerful tunes. See Emily Play & Arnold Layne were OK but very British Pop sounding. I still own most of their albums and CDs, DVDs, etc.. I've seen them perform LIVE with & w/o Roger a dozen times. They're great. But their passion for Syd made them greater by his absence.
that was PERFECT! dude you sound like David Gilmour. and the band sounds exactlly like FLOYD. next time cover echoes. you probably would nail that one easy.
Amazing. Sounds great, just like the real thing. Maybe better, cuz all the other live videos of floyd perfomances have terrible sound and urs has great sound quality.
Now that I am over the colitis thing, I need to say that ya'll did a good job with the tribute. I would not know the difference between your performance and Floyd's. I think you should take it on the road for a Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis benefit. Crohnies love Floyd and people need to be more aware of inflammatory bowel disease. In the past fifty years, it has increased in incidence dramatically. Shine on, you crazy gastro-boys.
There is actually a band called COLITIS? Groovy. My daughter will greatly appreciate that -- she has ulcerative colitis and spent a month in the hospital this year. We both associate Pink Floyd with the illness and so do her doctors.
She is giving her docs each a Pink Floyd button as token of appreciation for her care. Floyd was somehow a very Crohns/Colitis kind of band. Gastroenterologists really love Floyd. She had a sigmoidoscopy with Floyd playing in the treatment room. She greatly enjoyed it.

Does anyone know about the song Syd wrote about himself, called "vegetable man?" It was too close to home at the time, and it wasn't released.

Ya, Syd wrote it about himself.

I think this is the best of Floyds song, without Syd.
Back in 70's, I went to a disk store to hear the new Pink Floyd album, after long period of time, but instead of it I heard a masterpiece.
Astonished I was, I asked for the name of this song. It was "Shine On you crazy diamond" the new PF album.
