  • Fuckin dope.

  • Я думал что СH-47 более вместительный......ошибался.Принудительное расскрытие......

  • Thank you ALL for your service!!! My uncle is about to be deployed on Tuesday!

  • Can someone describe me all procedures and why these 2 guys are sitting on ramp.

  • @Kreyzy195 Well, first they hook up, which is the attach their static line to a cable that runs along the roof. Then they "SOUND OFF FOR EQUIPMENT CHECK" where each jumper or the jumpmaster himself checks all of the chutes and static lines. Then the jumpmaster tells them to jump. When they jump, the static line, which is still attached to the helicopter, jerks the chute out of the bag. The guy on the left of the ramp is the crew chief. He is part of the crew of the helicopter. The other

  • @Kreyzy195 guy is the jumpmaster. The crew chief is in charge of making sure everyone is safe while they are in the helicopter, as well as exfil and infil. The jumpmaster is responsible for all of the jumpers.

  • Great vid but does it always sound like that when inside a chinook?!?! man!!!

  • @awoo1122

no, its 10 times louder and the vibration is very intense.

  • @cyberphan Wow!

  • In my fifty jumps I was only on two Chinook jumps(when I wasn't getting bumped by officers). Great times at Ft Bragg.

  • I spent 5 years in 82nd and I only got one Chinook blast. In fact, that was the only tailgate I got too. AIRBORNE....ALL THE WAY!!!!!

  • damn! you guys are awesome

  • LOL the guy on his cell phone going 150 mph tweeting lol.

  • Gah! I'm dying to jump out of a Chinook!! You lucky bastard =)...

  • Outstanding. Gotta love a Chinook blast.

  • LOL @ 5:30 ... My thinking is: What in the world is the guy's job on the left. It looks like he's just in the Chinook for the ride and fun of it, and wtflmao at the guy on the right deciding to chill with the spidermonkey on his left, then whipping out his cellphone... It looks like the two are in some romance scene.

No offense at all, I'm meaning it very facetiously. I'd enjoy the hell out of it in their position.. I'm just finding it extremely hilarious for whatever reason :PP

  • The guy on the left is one of the crew chiefs for the Chinook. The guy on the right is the Safety Jumpmaster. It does look like a romance scene lol

  • (reply to hookupsbeau)

    :D

  • that guy is the loadmaster. part of the chinook's crew

  • The guy on the left is a loadmaster. Although you can´t really see it in this video he has a very responsible job. He´s responsible for the safety of the troops inside the cabin and for the slings loads underneath the helicopter. Before the flight begins he´s got to make a lot of calculations and checks, in war situations he´s also a door gunner etc. etc etc. The guy on the right is just a soldier who enjoys the view...

  • @XaviersSecretary Yeah the guy on the left is a crew chief... he runs the back of the aircraft.

  • The guy on the left is the crew chief. That is exactly my job in the Army. haha

  • wow thats just awesome you guys!! my great uncle was in the US Army as a Paratrooper and got Airborne during the Korean or Veitnam War. dont remember..So this is probably what he did too! thats just awesomeee... Hooah you guys!(:

  • great video !!!! can't wait til i join

  • Best of luck to you! When they pin those silver wings on your chest, it will be the best day of your life. Airborne all the way!

  • THANKS.

i'm in high school and i'm training for sf so when i join in about 3 to 5 years i hope to join the us army and try out for either the army rangers or green berets

    HOOAH !!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Video Dave - just thought I'd let you know I'm back on airborne status. I had a jump up at Ft. Benning this past Tuesday...hope all is well for you and your family...I may be heading to OEF. I'll keep you informed.

  • Congratulations on getting back on status! Please tell me you're not in still wearing a black beret. How soon before you deploy? It's about time! Good luck!

  • Thank you very much! No more black beret - got the maroon beret back on!! Not deploying now - the unit I was going to go with ended up not having slots. I've got a position with my unit that starts at the end of May. It's a year long position with them. Hopefully I'll get my chance to deploy overseas after that. In the meantime, I'll get a lot of jumps and more schools.

  • who packs the parachutes for airborne? do the jumpers have to do it themselves?? and what about cross winds? does it affect those types of parachutes?...I'm getting ready to join soon and this is the m.o.s. their offering me the biggest signing bonus to do! what's the catch? haha

  • Riggers pack the chutes.

Not sure what you mean about cross winds. In Airborne school, you jump with T-10 Delta chutes. All (most?) of my jumps after that were with MC-1s. Just steer into the wind to slow down, or run with the wind to get to a suitable place on the DZ.

Absolutely go to Airborne school. Once you've got your wings, you can heap scorn on "dirty nasty legs".

  • HAHAHA! i heard about the whole " Legs " thing....Cross winds are dangerous they can collapse your chute, but hey if it doesn't worry you then i should be fine, i'm just worried about A: my chute not opening or B: breaking a leg or my back on the landing haha

  • Your chute will open. If it doesn't, you've got the rest of your life to figure out how the reserve chute works...

  • if you are a componet USASOC then why dont you fly the MH-47 and not the CH-47

  • It was an "administrative/non-tactical" jump; a fun jump. USASOC has better uses for an MH-47 than keeping its jumpers current.

  • Its very very rare we get to jump a chinook over here in th UK, we only ever get the chance if were over stateside with you guys lol

  • Ft carson we jump between 1800 and 2000 no matter what the bird is, just because we are already at 6500' elevation and the air is to thin to drop any lower

  • Ya USASOC! :)

  • we do the chinook here at carson and it is between 1800 and 2000 feet. but it is an awsome jump.

  • jumping out at fremont with gsb today.

  • haha, the freefall feeling was good isnt it?

  • haha, the freefall feeling was good isnt it?

  • is that 1000ft jump? :)

  • I seem to recall it being 1500 feet.
