Great stuff! I last saw Battlefield Band at Poynton Folk Centre over 20 years ago. Seeing this recording brought back happy memories. I saw John McCusker at Fylde Folk Festival a few weeks ago, with Heidi Talbot and Boo Hewerdine. He was a great fiddle player when he was younger, but now he is magnificent.

@themanfromfinland it is john mccusker and no alasdair doesn't come in until 2001 where he plays live and his first album is Time and Tide in 2002. To answer the Mike Katz thing if your obsessing he's better your sadly mistaken both of these pipers and very good or if you think it's him then no it's not it's Iain MacDonald

@killiekentman no i believe it is either early or mid 90's as some of this material doesn't come up on an album till 1993
