  • AUUUUH, dude, my ez flash IV just erased all of my saves. Has this happened to you yet? Can you think what I might done to trigger that?

    ...DAMN ITTTT.

  • @wakooooooooo

    All of them? Including your GBA saves? o_O;

I've only experienced that with GB, GBC, and NES saves.

  • @WildWolfG Yeah, just my GBA saves, I didn't have any other platform's games on there. I just switched it on and noticed the save file for Mario Bros Superstar Saga was back to 'New Game' and then checked all my others which were reset, too.

I mean, it had low battery but I don't remember it cutting out during saving or anything. It's been reliable up until now (which has been about 2-3 weeks of playing).

    Hm.

  • So ugly that I have to hide my hideous face :D

  • @RobGBA

    It's funny because it's true. ^_^b

  • hey man thx for the TuT I have problem using the update file...i follow your guide step by step till the point where i should press R and turn on my gba sp but the update wont start just strange pixel image...how to fix this problem ? is it my ez card?

  • @GamerOnlive

    You're welcome, sir/madame. >_<^

Your problem sounds like it's caused by a problem with either your EZ Flash IV card or your SD card... If you're still able to play normal GBA games on your GBA SP, then I REALLY doubt your SP is the problem.

I would suggest trying it with another SD card (micro/mini... whatever it is you're using) first. If that doesn't work, then it's most likely your EZ card. =(

Also, you're HOLDING down the R button and not just pressing it, right?

  • @WildWolfG my gameboy is working fine...and yes i was holding R ^^' its just the ez flash or the micro sd

i will try mini sd thx for quick reply +++

  • Just something I'd like to share: If you're having trouble getting the micro sd out and you dont have anything obvious to get it out with, try a guitar pick, it works for me!

  • @HawK047

Intesting way to fix this weird little issue!

I'll keep it in mind if I'm ever asked about it.

    Thanks! >_<^

  • i've tried clicking on the link in the video description that you have in red it wount let me do it can tell me the web sit to download EZ4 Client and Goomba and Goomba Colour thank you

  • @starer8

I just tried the links again, and they're working fine.

I'm not able to paste links into comments.

Try copying/pasting the link from the description into your browser instead of just clicking on them. That should work for you.

If that still doesn't work, try pausing my video when I have the URL up and manually typing in the address into your address bar. =P

  • is ther any other paying method except with the credit card on the website you have bought the cartridge? thanks

  • @aljosa91

    I'm not sure... I didn't bother to check. =P

But I paid with my credit card, and everything went perfectly fine.

lol Nobody from Hong Kong has tried stealing my identity yet. *_*b

  • @WildWolfG hehe ok thanks for reply!

  • @aljosa91

    No problem, sir! *_*b

  • Mother 3 in English on an actual GBA, hell yeah!

  • @falconpunch94

lol We shouldn't all have to download the ROM and then use a FAN TRANSLATION to play the damn game in English, but yeah... I guess the developers decided they hated people who don't speak Japanese that day. -_--!

...But HELL YEAH!! The game is awesome. *_*b

  • Brilliant job on the tutorial. I was concerned I'd just wasted my cash on something that I'd have to have a computer science degree to figure out.

  • @wakooooooooo

Thanks, man! Glad I could be of help. =)

Yeah... it's confusing as hell. I spent like 6-7 hours straight figuring it all out.

After that, I decided to use all my notes to re-do everything from scratch after buying a cheap little $20 tripod. lol

  • @WildWolfG Well thanks, it's very much appreciated. I literally just bought one so I could play Mother 3 and Minnish Cap properly!

  • Thank you for doing this!

  • @HawK047

    No problem, bro!

    Glad I could help!

  • does the alocation unit size matter when formatting?

  • @AdventureTimeTube

I'm not sure... I didn't mess around with that particular setting much. I don't think it matters much on most games, since all of my GBA games seem to save just fine.

For Mother 3, however, I think you have to set it to a higher file size... I think it was like 32MB.

Not totally sure about that, though.

  • Once I install the new EZ4 Kernel on the gameboy advance/sp/micro, can it still play regular commercial gameboy games or am I doomed if the EZ-Flash IV breaks down?

  • @jascool90

You're actually installing the EZ4 Kernel onto the EZ Flash IV cartridge- your GBA/SP/Micro is completely unaffected.

I sometimes play Pokemon Emerald (the actual game cartridge; not the ROM), and it works perfectly fine. =)

  • @WildWolfG Good to know, thanks.

  • @jascool90

    No problem, bro. =P

  • @WildWolfG can i play gb and gbc game with this on my gb micro?

  • @cosmicaler

You can, but I should warn you that, as far as I know, you can't save GB, GBC, or NES games onto your EZ Flash IV.

GBA games save perfectly fine, though.

  • nice video man!

but I have a problem: when I want to update my GBA, I held the right button down untill I got a black screen. BUT it stays black and it doesnt update.

    can you help me out?

  • you put a piece of tape on the sd card man! Just pull the tape.

  • @100PercentGOLD

lol that's so ghetto though x__X

  • How much did it cost?

  • @CrocoDuck420

    I paid exactly $31.50 for it. ($29.50 + $2.00 shipping)

It shipped from hong Kong and got to my house (I live in California) in almost exactly 2 weeks. =)

I left a link in the video description to the page where you can buy it from.

The site's totally safe to use and everything! I'm totally glad I bought it!

  • @WildWolfG No man I meant the GBA Micro, where did you get a new one?

  • @CrocoDuck420

    Ahh my bad, bro.

I got it new on Amazon for about $90ish.

It's the 20th Anniversery Japanese Famicom version. =)

I also saw some used Micros selling for about $50, too.

  • Okay, i was like: hmmm maybe i should go buy a gameboy micro and put some roms on it--then i came to this. it looks like such a hassle i figure that instead of having a "stealthy small" micro to play in us history i might as well use my psp with a boat-load of gba/gb/gbc/anything else on it instead. might not be small but... at least my wallet wont be empty... haha

  • @RobotChimpz

Yeah... new GB Micros are pretty damn expensive, but they're awesome. =)

I got one because I've ALWAYS wanted one and I had the money to spare. lol

I have a hacked PSP too! The old school fatass one!

It's pretty cool, but I got my EZ-Flash to use with my Micro purely for its size and because it just LOOKS so badass. lol

  • Thanks for these great tutorials on the EZ-Flash IV, I had my doubts about getting one, seemed too complex for me, but your tutorials convinced me to get one. So thanks for the awesome tutorials.

  • @TomSawyer612

No problem, man. Glad I could help! =)

I've been playing my EZ-Flash a lot lately. It's so awesome having all these old games all in one place ready to play at any time!
