Ron Paul supporters lost every procedural vote to get rid of delegates and now they're pouting! There there ron babies.. we have elections at regular intervals in America so there are many more for you guys to lose. Just be patient.
Un-fucking-believable. Carlitos1010 has it right, this is no longer about Republicans vs Democrats - but I'll take it a step further: It's about Americans vs. NON-Americans. I've been a Democrat all my life, and for the first time in my life I will vote for a Republican for President. Unfortunately, I have to take a pen to the polls in order to vote, because Ron Paul will not appear on my ballot thanks to people like this.
When they alleged that McCain supporters were called up so they could simply show up and become delegates, two young men behind me commented that this is exactly what happened with them. Luke Esser was not alone. This room was full of crooks.
I may worry about Obama becoming president, but I KNOW I don't want THESE kind of people running the government. I will vote my conscience for Chuck Baldwin, the constitution party nominee.
While I appreciate your dedication, (Uncle), to RP you are delusional if you think that the voting public wants/is willing to take the dedicated time to understand RP's reasoning behind his solutions. Some of which while on paper may be correct, in real time politics have absolutely no chance. That is the reality you should be dealing with. Dems are down a socialist path and because of short attention spans a portion of the public have not a historical clue as to the path they follow.
All the McCain people are doing is putting a Democrat in office. RP was the only Republican who stood a chance against the Communists, woops, I mean Democrats.
During the Ron Paul morning briefings did you discuss the catch phrase "vote your conscience"? I ask this because it became a talking point through out the day. The most entertaining part of voting your conscious is just how often I actually saw the Clark County group make sure to stand up and sit down when their leader did. It was laughable to watch what would happen and see the panic and verbal concern if they could not see how to vote.
I can't speak for Clark County, but there was nothing like that going on in our side of the room. We didn't need leaders (or big colored signs) to tell us what to do, because we DID "vote our conscience." And the proof is in the pudding - we support Ron Paul not because the mainstream media tells us to, nor because the GOP says he's the only one who's "electable"; we support Ron Paul because we each discovered him on our own and fell in love with his message of freedom. Can you say the same?
Congratulations for you. McCain was not my candidate of choice. My candidate dropped out and threw his collective efforts behind getting a Republican elected in 08. What is your effort? What is the main goal behind your campaign? That is the biggest problem I have and the Republican party has with RP's efforts. If I was paranoid as most of your "Love" fringe I would say you support the Dems chances in 08. To what end is the question...
I think we need to stop looking at a presidential race as a race to pick a prom queen/popularity contest. These two parties are broken.
Republican Party = New Warfare Party
Democratic Party = New Socialist Party
The Constitution,... out the window.
Let's demand as Americans respect for the Rule of Law, The Constitution of the United States of America instead of supporting any of these parties blindly.
I don't think I can speak for all RP supporters, but I'm interested in returning the party to its Barry Goldwater-esque roots. You know, people forget that the Republican party used to be the anti-war party. It used to be the small-government, Uncle-Sam-out-of-my-wallet party before the neocons took it over. I think if we just had a chance to voice our opinions at the conventions and to sway party opinion, we could convince you guys to support the Constitution and return the GOP to its roots.
...Votegop - However, if you're looking for traitorous intent, then yes, it's true that I don't believe in "my party right or wrong." But that's because I realize that a political party is not a sports team - it is a blunt tool that may be used for good, or for evil. And it's the individual's responsibility to be aware of which it's being used for. The Dems, the Libertarians, and the Greens are no exception.
Luke Esser (WA State GOP Chairman and guy on the big screen)is the lead dog in this and will feel the lash back. These criminals on tape should provide evidence for some kind of legal action. The chasm created within the state GOP is irreparable. These people are as far away from being Republicans as the Democrats are.
I voted to have the Skagit delegation removed. I wish there would have been more discussion on what occurred at their County Convention. Even the few Ron Paul supporters in Skagit wanted their own delegation removed. If Skagit had been removed we probably would have had more Ron Paul delegates from the 2nd District.
I like how the McCain folks have to be told which way to vote. Basically, they're clueless and need to be told what to do. Arguably, the RP people are not well versed in parliamentary procedure, but you've got to give them credit for their involvment and political activism, versus the geriatric, spoon fed sheepledom of the McCain set.
I watched live webcasts of the convention on TVW- I went back tonight to see the pieces I missed and the convention seems to be the only archived material that is available in audio ONLY! While I know I shouldn't be surprised, I am. Will you all go to TVW and call or email to complain along with me? They need to know that we are paying attention in every aspect!!!!!!!!
I was THERE, so let me explain what happened: Before this started, a woman motioned to strike the Skagit delegates. Apparently, the problem was that the elected delegates had been replaced due to not submitting papers on time. She then presented 3 documents- all certified receipts proving that those delegates HAD submitted their papers on time. The McCain guys proceeded to use their "yes" and "no" signs to tell their members how to vote, and they all voted to stifle the debate. Unbelievable.

I was also there. Most of the Ron Paul Delegates didn't need signs because the collective umbilical cord that RP's have attached did not allow them to sit or stand against the will of their leaders. Clark county's leader, (Delevar not the canidate but the wife) ran the show for the eastern 1/3 of the convention
voteGOP57: are you really that stupid, or just born that way? Don't you understand? Your campaign leaders weren't using the signs order to coordinate you; they were using them because they were AFRAID you'd vote your conscience and "accidentally" side with the RP people. They were INSULTING you with those signs. The walkout was a further manifestation of this strategy - notice that we unanimously passed the war resolution, THANKS TO those John McCain people who stayed and voted their conscience. That's what your campaign leaders were afraid of.
If you write in RON PAUL, it will be thrown in the garbage - in WA you have to register to be a write in candidate. I was at the convention when this happened. The most disgusting thing I saw the entire time was the McCain supporters voting down the ability for the delegation to hear evidence about very obvious cheating. If the majority of Republicans don't want to hear evidence of blatant cheating then we've already lost by becoming immoral people.
I was there. When the man explained how they were just calling McCain supporters up to the day before, telling them they would be delegates: The two guys behind me started saying "That's what they did with us". Needless to say, they were McCain supporters, and were part of the attempt to walk out and deny quorum, though they were NOT from King county.
I would like to thank the ETHICAL McCain Republicans who remained. Without that 100 people, quorum would have been short by 50.
Yes, absolutely. There was a good number of McCain supporter's disgusted by the actions of the campaign. Two ladies next to me were shocked and told me they were so sorry, and they were embarassed by the walk out and later, the dillatory game to stop debate. Many of them understand that we must tdo the work of those who sent us, not walk line step with the GOP. They said things like, 'we were sent here to do the work of the people, not play politics'. I really felt bad for them. How embarassing!
This was an outrage, the GOP walked out on our convention, too. But to there dismay, they weren't able to pull enough John McCain bunch to go under the number for Quarum-Finally egg on King County and the GOP/Luke Esser's facE! So instead the GOP raan the clock down with dillatory crap, and we ended up going home. Don't believe in the process at the GOP,it has all the markings of Fascism, and there were plenty of sheep following-Kinda like Germany! Freedom dies with applause!

The reason the Dillatory clause was put in the rules is because of Ron Paul delegates and their collective and continuing disruptive and uneducated interruptions.
Man, the GOP is a bunch of corrupt idiots. I'm glad the neo-con filled GOP is going to lose this year.
Ron Paul's movement will continue and we will take over the GOP in the years to come. Good luck to the Ron Paul supporters in Washington and please take legal action if the party doesn't follow it's state by-laws.
Absolutely take legal action! I strongly support that we hold all these "establishment" speakers & commmittee people accountable to a court of law before a fair Judge & revolk all of their political positions, & possible fine & or inprison them.
The Chairperson speaking there is going to be personally sued. Instead of suing the party, the opposition has decided to go after individuals. Don't tell me this isn't so because I heard it straight from the source-the lawyer for Ron Paul supporters. That was revealed yesterday at a rally.
