  • How tall was he

  • guys he is my weightroom coach!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt know he was this famous!!! he told me to watch him on youtube lol!!!!!!!!

  • His form is so similar to alessandro andrei

  • Hey Kevin, where did you and Glenn throw in college?

  • For High School he Threw at Bayonne up in north Jersey My brother went up against him and beat him because he was the only thrower my brother and his friend threw a 82 Together and Kevin ended up throwing a 68 and he had to get a runner to just stand there and throw and he threw a 12 lol its crazy dude is a monster I was getting trained by him but now i go to a olympic 90's thrower in Rutgers University

  • @darian1211 He isn't and was never an Olympic thrower.. He has never even thrown 50 feet in the shot.. Mr. Naclerio was 'voted' the 1994 olympic coach. Doesn't mean any of those guys even listened to a word he has to say. His title was a mere 'political appointment.'. You should have stuck to training with me buddy!! How is training going??

  • damn, fast

  • Hey kevin. Great stuff. Which college did u and Glenn put the shot for in college?

  • you know, one coach told me to preturn my right leg but a judge told me to keep it linear until the last moment. I see your foot actually half way between both methods. Is any one way best?

  • this is great stuff kevin, what college did u put the shot for??

  • @fonzo512 Rutgers for a year until my grades shut me down bigtime. I threw 59 as a Frosh with the 16.

  • his response at 1:29 was so Italian

  • kev, have you thrown recently just to see how far?

  • my god.. this is just amazing. what kind of workouts did you do for this

  • I remember Kevin and his brother Glenn. They were a few years after me, but I remember following them in Track and Field News. But I can't seem to find anything about their post HS throwing careers. There were a few people talking about the brothers competing at the 2000 Olympic Trials, trying to make the games as a brother tandem.

  • yeah, my genetics are pretty good I think. My brother was pretty good low to mid 50s in distance. He never lifted or worked out though. We've been trieng to really hit the weight room and circle hard these next 2 years. I like how you talk about the goals and images of great throwers. I Will update you on my progress. I've been put up the past few weeks because of a little surgery i had to have done. But as soon as I can jump back to training I'll report. O and my brothers name is kevin haha.

  • I love the form. Adding nine feet to your regular power position is a great accomplishment so early in a persons life. The Explosiveness you have is what I am trieng to build up at the moment. Thank you for showing us some of your meet performances.

  • Thank you. We did a lot of circle work, as well as speed and power work. Plyos will help with explosion and heavy shots, we never trained with light implements. We used 16,18,20 and 24 lbers. Also, genetics comes into play here with the explosion as we were blessed with a high % of fast twitch muscle fibers. Good Luck to you and let me know of your progress!! Kevin

  • @Areagonner

If he added 9' to his stand throw, then does that mean he can power about 58' on average? HOW THE FUCK CAN YOU DO THAT. What kind of lifting makes you able to do that?

  • @MrHav1k i know what you mean. alot of 6 foot grown men can not do that

  • @MrHav1k My best stand throw or Power throw was 63 feet.. That day if all went well I should have went 72'.. I had 3 warm ups and a foul at 72 feet that day. Couldn't keep it in.

  • holy shit he is hella fast across the ring and he gets hella nice air on it

  • Aww what im striving for I'm 5' 8" lol but only 180lbs lol

  • sir, those are not legs...those are tree trunks.

ps. i want to get close to my school record of 55 feet and i throw like 35 now.. yikes. however, i am willing to bust my ass in terms of lifting and speed. i have been told that my form is impeccable in disc, and am about 5 11. do u think a 20 foot increase is possible

  • Thank you, haha. What year are you in ?

    Regards, Kevin

  • sadly, 11th.

  • 20 feet in one year, I don't think so, sorry to say lol. 10 feet ya. 30/40 feet in one year in discus is possible though.

    Good Luck!!

  • thanks man. thats reaassuring...btw..i watched this doc. on u and read this article and it said that u slept at 9 30, got up at like 6 to workout, came back from school and worked out EVERYDAY. IS THIS true? and if so...dont u have to like workout out separate muscles every OTHER day and stuff, cause i want to somehow be as dedicated as u were and dont noe where to start...ur passion is inspirational man.

  • Thanks for the kind words. I did work out every day after school, before school sometimes.. To work out every day you must split your cycle so you do a different body part each day. I was very motivated and inspired as a high school thrower, this is the fuel you need to keep that internal fire burning... I used to study up on all the best gliders, their height/weight/best lifts.. I had their pictures on my wall.. W/out goals and inspiration you have nothing. Good luck to you!!

    Kevin

  • thanks for the quick response. i have another couple of questions. do you know (an estimate) the amount of weight you lifted in the weight room when you threw these? you seem very strong from your build. Also, was the first time you threw a shot put your freshman year? i started last year as a sophmore.

thanks so much for your help.

  • approx. 365-370 Bench, deadlift Low-Mid 500's, Squat Low-Mid 500's. Ran a 4.6/4.7 40 yard dash, hmm, power clean 315. 16 lb shot about 58-60 feet.

The first time I ever picked a shot up was freshman year outdoors. I wound up throwing 44 feet that season (12lb. implement).

  • OMG. I'm sophomore outdoor threw 45'1 this afternoon. I dont quite have your strength though.

  • 48'5 :D

  • is there any way you can post the height and weight of him and his brother. I am a high school shot putter and i can get discouraged at the size difference between me and my competition. These 2 throwers give me encouragement seeing that i can be successful despite not having the body structure of most throwers.

  • Well, my height and weight during these throws was 5'8/5'9 and 215-220 lbs. My brother, Glenn, was 6 ft 215 ish. Steven, my youngest brother was 6'1" I'd say and 230-240. Don't get discouraged from throwing b/c of the size of the other kids, all that matters is who throws the farthest. As a freshman I remember an official telling me that I would never be any good b/c I was too small... and I think I proved him wrong, a little bit.. GOOD LUCK !!! Kevin DiGiorgio

  • So what are you doing now-a-days?

  • I teach, coach, and have a shot/disc personal training business. I also do shot/disc/jav clinics and am half way done with writing my shot/disc/weight training manual. -- Kev

  • 12lb shot, 69'8", high school? Wow that is talent.

  • Yes, 12 lb is the h.s. implement. Should have went 73/74 as a Senior but that's ancient history.
