Ms. Sommers is a force not to be forgotten soon; she has reinvented her sound, the voice is unchanged from the seventies;her persona is even more intriguing;she is one of the great divas off all time because she has maintained a sense of class and style and the public loves her;she is truely a classy and talented lady-Long live the Queen.I love the new album; If you wait long enough the great ones will always come back and give you what you want-Donna Summers is it.
Is this really that good? I love Donna but I think she's done nothing new with this one, at least form what I've had the chance to hear so far. That's a pity.
there is nothing wrong with artistic freedom, i like variety too if its "quality". unfortunately, i dont hear any quality on this album, even the most danceable tune "im a fire" is extremely bland melodically, vocally, lyrically and production wise, even with remixes, its was still lacking that special something that donnas records always seemed to have...she needs to go back to her roots the way madonna did with "confessions"
Must be over 40. I did not like confessions, so we like different types of music. Im glad the songs are not so damn gay, like others from the past. The rest of us need something too.
well djdiscobeats i assume from your name discos your game, as is mine, so the comment about liking different types of music doesnt make sense, you missed my point, i inferred that donna should go back to her roots, her disco roots, where 98% of her success was, madonna was hugely successful with "confessions", as was cher with "living proof" both disco based albums, judging from the chart action on "crayons" id say she should give it a try, its at the botton half of the album chart...
Yeah thats the point of the cd. The public just didnt get it. Maybe you are right, if chart action is your goal. Depends on who you are. Just know I like it and Im glad she left the club based music for a minute. Im sure dance music will always be there to return to. All I was saying is I liked the songs. Yes, I mean songs not tracks. If I want beats I can go to non singers. Keep it hot!
chart action is what keeps an artist alive and recording, it had impressive numbers on its debut, but without a hit single, it fell quickly, "stamp your feet" reminds me of a lame attempt to be trendy with its "aint no holla back girl" beat...this isnt donna at all...
Cant discuss music with you. You are from another generation. Enjoy your Madonna and I will listen to other music. Anything without a techno beat that is. Good Day.
your from another generation and your name is discobeats??? hows that??? what does chart action have to do with techno?? im not fond of techno either, unless its melodic, and most of it isnt..
@discoguy79 - This is definitely Donna because Donna is many genres of music, not just one or two. Crayons was not a big hit, but it's Donna nonetheless.
No there is no Euro pop-dance on it. But there are plenty of pop dance songs. Cher is a different singer. She does not write her songs, yet she is great too. Apples and oranges people. Its something fresh, I was getting tired of the swishy records.
there is nothing "fresh" about this album, the songs are bland at best, i dont see this album being a comeback album for her at all...she needs more dance friendly tunes, the ones that made her what she is...this reminds me of her "finger on the trigger" album, crtics loved that one too, but it was a commercial dissappointment
donna is not cher and chers not donna they are to different type of people and have different successes you know im glad donnas back the pop world was cold and dark with out her now its warm again .
I'm a big Donna fan from way back when and I've heard the entire album. There are tracks I really like. The rest I'll need to listen to more. I'm so glad she put this out but I have my doubts that it will make a comeback like Cher's Believe. Radio is tough these days. Everything sounds the same (pretty bad oftentimes) and they don't give anyone over 30 much of a chance.
hey how are you i am from irealnd and i keep hearing samples of the album its fucking amazon like donna fan of hers but sad to say the album wont be in stores till june and i hate that fucked up and way if you have the album could u mail me the 12 tracks until the album comes out in june

there are no pop/dance tunes on this album. it has a dark feel to it, i was really expecting a "cher" like album, but from what ive heard no dice, personaly i dont see this album doing for donna, what believe did for cher..
I'm really excited by this album. I love Donna and I've never been disappointed. She and Debbie Harry (Blondie frontwoman) are both women I admire because even as they age they put out fresh, fun music. Rock on Donna!!
If you want more quality u can visit the link DoNNa SuMMer tribute look in the news and touch in the notice where it says "stamp your feet" then you´re going to have best resolution video and stereophonic sound the same vid but much better quelity...!!
Donna still looks and sounds great! Love the songs on this clip. Alot of credit goes to Donna for creating new, fresh music. She could have easily gone the easy route of so many established singers with a "standards" set. I'm glad she didn't. I'll definately be buying Crayons. Love the tones of the music here very much.
I agree I like her better now. She definately has a a better message in her songs now and looks and sounds great!
