    What a Setting (3:20)!!!!!

  • many greetings from greece. do not believe to the Western propaganda about the film "300". greek people have a great respect for your culture and particularly for your music. quite regularly i listen to radiodarvish on the internet. it helps me to concentrate on my studies.

  • cha honermandani

  • Excellent music!!!

In India, we also use the same "daf". It is called "dafli" in India...

now I do not know where "daf" originated. I would appreciate if some one could throw some light on it!!

    Take care dear fares friends!!

    Regards from India!

  • This is a dayareh, not a daf. The Persian daf is a bit different than this drum, mainly because it has more jingles on the inside than the dayareh. Dayareh usually only has one row of jingles while daf usually has 3.

The daf found in India usually has no jingles. Am I right?

I believe these types of drums originated in the Middle East...probably Iraq or Iran, but a drum similar in construction was common among native Americans long ago.

  • @desisher16 hay mate really first originated in kurdistan in an city cal Sanandaj or Snah. its not persian its not arabs or mongoli turks. so its kurdish and kurdish are the very first traibe of iranian peoples.

  • Excellent performance! Hidden treasure!

  • How is he doing that? He has got the Daff and cymbals! Magnificent!
