  • the part at 1:25 where syd overdubs his voice to harmonize is and was just freaking brilliant

  • Apparently, color didn't come to TV and film in England until 1970. I'm half kidding; but everything in US television was in color by about '66. But all the footage I've seen from England in '67 and even '68 was still in black and white.

  • @ForeverYoung58 thats not really true amrican bandstand was in black and white in 67

  • This is pure psychedelic music - I like it

  • I've never seen this clip! Wild as it's from much later than when the song was released as Syd's hair is quite longer here. In the original promo film (on a beach) they're less "psychedelic" looking!

  • If you mean much later as in the same year the song came out, yea.. Both are from '67 Im sure

  • this song is what put them on the charts. it's kind of hard to find. the psychadelic style is sort of dated, but the musical ability renders it timeless. of course, it's syds baby. he's all over this video, which is a treat. i'm sure he was fed up with this song very soon after he wrote it. he was one of the first to unapologetically ditch the industry rock band format. he was far from insane. he was being rational and integral. that's my opinion. thanks for posting.

  • I *love* Syd's stuff

  • Actually, there are many antecdotes of Barrett's behavior from late '67-early '68 that indicate he had descended into madness due to his regular dropping of acid. So unfortunate; a brilliant but seemingly tormented man.

  • he fizzled out of the scene for many reasons. remember when chappelle dropped everything and went to africa? nobody really knows why, but they labeled him "mad." nobody will ever know why syd ditched the scene. there were plenty of acid takers that went on to successful careers. i think the reverse...my opinion is that he knew exactly what he was doing...he was shunning the biz and making himself known about it. he hated playing the same song the same way live and in the studio. thanks

  • Top notch tune!

  • ohhh...thank you so very much .. cheers!

  • Wow - you come up with some amazing stuff. I loved the clips of the Who, too.

  • Excellent!
