I use sparco sprint V in my car instead, I really recomend those, they are pretty small and should fit your car and they are alot nicer when you race/drift your car because you don´t move around that much in them.

@jhaze918 Theres no question which one is better...from the factory.you cant call the ka a truck motor cause it came in the 240 from the factory as well.and as a general rule, truck engines are built better and stronger cause they have to be a workhorse for 150k miles or better.and your comparing a non turbo to a turbo.slap a turbo on a ka and its better than the sr cause of the displacement.take both, replace internals, and the ka outperforms sr allways. no one cares about stock so dont try it.

@hksTypeR ....displacement is not the deciding factor here my friend...the difference is a mere 4 tenths of a litre...and if im correct there are motors 1/3 the size of v8's, making just about the same power, if built correctly....the deciding factor here is which one is better out the factory....sr20 is built for a turbo, ka24, not so much...strap a turbo on it stock, and try to make power with it and see what happens lol...wont last very long....i cant even believe this is debated by any1 lmao

sr more reliable??? ka is a forged steel block, take alot more abuse than an aluminum one, and has semi-forged internals, if you lower compression to where it needs to be and boost a ka it will walk on an sr, 2.4>2.0, also a ka has cam on bucket desighn, ro rocker arms that like to fail, the main reason people prefer the sr is the aftermarket support, it was the engine used in japan, so they build parts for it, also with a perfect square build a sr will rev out alot better than a ka will

sorry boss, but i beleive you are incorrect, the SR20 is one of the strongest engines that Nissan has made, i dont think i have seen a 900 hp KA, (which is a truck motor) if you strap up a turbo set up to a stock KA, and try to runn it at 14psi, it will break down, i run 16 psi on my stock sr20 bock and internals and she runs beautiful, i also put out an impressive amount of hp, where as my friend with his KA-t put it to 10 psi and blew the engine.

Of course, unless a KA is rebuilt with lower compression its going to blow at 10PSI, but from my understandings the Sr20 has a higher HP potential but the KA has a lot more torque and a more useable powerband than the Sr20, I'm not saying that either engine is better just suited for different needs is all.

SR 205 hp 203 Torque, better than rb20, the 25 is better though, but the 26, it has issues with its harmonic balancer and oil pump, with the RB26 you cant hold up high revs and build too much power or else engine will fail, SR you dont need to change oil pump or balancer to be able to rev the tits and make more hp, but if you address those issues ont he RB26 then you get a lethal engine

The S15 Sr20's on the other hand are good engines and thats the only SR20 I'd buy because it's quality. RB's are the best period!

Smoke is most likely worn valves. Blue smoke on accel is usually worn rings, blue smoke on overrun is the oil being sucked in at the top end. His engine is fine just needs a freshen up.

if the wastegate got stuck that just means that you could overboost. If it overboosted your turbo could be damaged and in extreme cases the actual turbines can explode. Secondly, the black smoke as stated by someone is USUALLY a bad turbo seal.
