The guest was a man who called himself "The Major" (a poor man's "Colonel") saying he recorded a song with Elvis in 1988. He played a clip for us on the show.
A professional Elvis imitator got up & yelled at him for pulling a hoax on the fans. That's when I told him if Elvis was alive, they should book him on the Morton Downey Jr show.
Yes, that's me. I was interviewed recently for a documentary on Mort coming out in 2011 called EVOCATEUR. They brought me back to Mort's old studio and I stood where I stood in this clip and repeated the "money making garbage" line.
Unfortunately I wasn't really born when they shows aired but I've been sitting back and watching them lately. They are hilarious. I wish there were more on YouTube. Be sure to put that up on Youtube.
And where are you from because that accent is pretty good, lol.
You are a singer, correct? Based on your website it seems you are doing big things. How old are you?
Mort was really cool when the cameras weren't on. As soon as they started taping, he became the "Mort" that you see in the clips. After Mort, came Maury & Springer, but they couldnt do it like Mort. When a fight broke out on set, Mort would jump into the fight. When fights break out on other shows, the hosts run. Big difference, I wish they'd release a box set of Mort's shows on DVD. As for me, I only have about 12 episodes plus the two I was on.
@prlad85 It's reversed. The seats are all on the opposite side now. I don't know what they are using it for now. Still, they filmed me walking out where Mort used to walk out. Strange feeling being there 20 years later. Keep an eye out for the movie.
@tomdib Wow, thats good to know. I remember when he died (RIP) back in '01 they did a report about him on Channel 9 news from the old studio. I will definteley watch out for the film. It's on my 2011 to do list.
Have a great night, a great day tommorrow, a great night tommorrow, a great weekend, a great month, a great duration of the summer and a great autumn! Puerto Rican Love from New York City.
They only say ass, and even son of a bitch, not other words.

Oh my God did I love this show. Especially the All Stars episodes where he'd have like eight crazies on the stage at once.

Also - who was the guest on this show? Gail Giorgio-Brewer? I think she wrote that book - if not, she wrote many like it, including one I own.

Check out Rob Schneider performing Elvis' "Plantation Rock" on Conan O'Brien's show, 1992.
It's on YouTube. There's an Elvis impersonator {last name Church} who's very good as well.
