  • I came here because Penn jilette mentioned it on aots

  • It's funny how so many ppl complain about how it's the wring notes.. ITS A FREAKING ROAD PEOPLE!!! how many roads do YOU know play music when u drive over it???

  • That's pretty cool

  • It has been moved! due to complaints from the end house from where it starts the lady didn't like hearing it so I think the new location is over on ave G on the way from frwy 14 to fox field air strip

  • That has got to be the spiffiest road ever.

  • @DynaDuctINC OMG. You said spiffy.

    I love you forever now.

  • there's one in Lancaster Sierra highway and W avenue G Take Sierra highway towards rosemead city and make a left on W avenue G once u make a left u will see signs of directions on which lane it is...

  • hey next time put the description in the description box not the video you fuck

  • ive been livning in lancaster for a year and i still havent gone on it.

  • i only got to go on it once and i live there lol

  • I love my city of lancaster!! So beautiful

  • lawl

  • the high not is flat

  • @abstractviewofu Just "the" high note? It's all bad. From the first interval on...

  • thank god, I don't live in that shit hole anymore

  • I'm with ya someymehra, Lancaster has become the armpit of L.A. County. AND it's called "The William Tell Overture", not the Lone Ranger. Lancaster jackasses, or, better yet, L.A. rejects. Thanks for fucking up my town.

  • ive been on this road before my cousins live in lancaster

  • imagine if they had every song on every road people wouldn't want to use their radios anymore

  • IT suck they paved over that road.. it could've been a historical street..

  • from what i heard, they moved the road somewhere elese

  • I think it might be 70th street west down the road.

  • ok,i just got the directions to where they moved it. it is located on Avenue G, Westbound near where 35th Street West would be.

  • Whoa! What a minor sounding version! And that high note was worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. *shudders*

  • dooope! omg thats so dope!!!!!

  • LANCASTER FO LIFEEEEEEEE

  • I took my best friend out there one night after midnight (We'd just gotten off work). She had not heard anything about this road. So I psyched her a bit. I said "Sometimes I get a song stuck in my head so bad that I think other people can hear it! I'm thinking of one now. Can you hear it?? Concentrate!!"

LMAO Just then we hit the musical road! Hahahahaa

    She will never forget it!

  • they moved it, its now on avenue H. people didn't like the music playing 24/7 lol XD

  • Yeah its by apollo park somewhat.

  • Works on a motorcycle too. I took my Girlfriend out there on Monday and it sounded pretty good.

  • Hows it work? Weight of the car?

  • no....the ground has grooves

  • speed

  • it has to do with the movement of air caused by your car driving. the grooves in the road were made such that they echo back those notes

  • This was a somewhat successful attempt to have the grooves play the "William Tell Overture" (theme to the Lone Ranger)... but they apparently never consulted someone who KNOWS how the tune goes. It's off in its intervals and its rhythm at the end. It's close enough for people with no musical ear to say, "Uh, the Lone Ranger?"

  • now compare that to the commercial. they had to of been going around 80 or 90 when they taped it lol

  • i wanna see somebody hit this at like 100mph, haha

  • What that's cool lancaster is known for alot of stuff and it's the 9th fastest growing city in the U.S

  • Actually it's not "the lone ranger", it's the William Tell Overture.

  • Damn, if I knew about this, I would've wanted to drive over it before I moved away. Shows how much I know about my own hometown. D:

  • Thats fucken Lancaster for ya. A singing road that plays the loan ranger of all things. How about some metallica or maybe some disturbed to listen to while driving out in the middle of the fucken desert.

  • becuz dude do u realize how complictated that would be they choose something simple becuz the math is easier and its only a chang of like 7 notes

  • yeah I went over this once. Everyone I knew was extremely pissed that they were going to take it out, but now that they made another one a little bit further out, we are all happy. I live only about a mile from this spot, and I need to go on the new one, even if it is the same song.

  • They re-did it further out of town away from the homes and added a divider with a turn lane so you can turn around safely.

  • I was sooo pissed when they paved over that. What a waste. This town need to lighten up and appreciate cool fun stuff like this. Well at least I got to drive over it before they paved it.....

  • Aww. They paved it?

  • i wonder if they would do one that is a techno song

    exapmle) sandstorm

  • I think all you critical folks should lighten up. Doing the math for this is pretty intense and would require experimentation. That would be expensive. I think that they got it this close is pretty cool. Beside if Mr. Tell had in deed shot his son, perhaps a minor key would be more appropriate. So Honda just missed...

  • Liverpool should avoid doing this with Beatles songs. Imagine how many people would drive along in reverse listening for Satanic messages.

  • They'd just have to cross over the lane on the wrong way.

  • That's what I mean - traffic would be helter skelter.

  • The idea of doing it for Beatles songs is a bad one - everyone will be driving in reverse listening for satanic messages.

  • At least they tried.

  • LOL!

  • Do a little research of your own knuckle head - Honda designed it to be played with a 2009 Honda Civic. The wheel spacing and tire size allows it to be played in the proper key....

  • True, knew that, and I know that speed should be 55 MPH, but, changing the wheel spacing (2009 Honda Civic = 106.3")or the speed, would not change the interval relationship of the notes relative to EACH OTHER, which is what they got wrong.

  • Damn you are a gay-ass

  • Huh? OMG!! I am?? Thanks for the info.

  • Yes, now you know.

  • Its the speed of travel which determines the pitch, not the wheel spacing or tyre size.

  • Very cool!

The city of Liverpool, England ought to do some Beatle songs this way!

I wonder if you could create some crude speech, like "Slow Down"...

  • They're paving it over! noooooooooo!!!! this is cool! :D

  • haha they should do more of this around the states...but it would be bad for your tires cool though

  • heavy

  • LOL

    brilliant !!

  • That's fucking amazing, I can't believe they're paving it over.

  • Brilliant! They should do that on motorways... got to be better than Radio 2!

  • They should do that to all roads. I want The solo from 'Through the never' on my street.

  • Theme from Knight Rider.
