I remember going to a WINZ meeting once where an instructor went around the room and asked every single person to complete an application to work in a factory . It didn't matter that some of the people had degrees. One women stated that she would rather work as a stripper than accept a menial job in a factory. She was then asked to call the club to secure employment. If it was legal, they would probably just send the young women to whore houses.

funny really. Who knows what sort of man Peter Freedom is? perhaps if you know him personally...well then you deserve to have an opinion of his character. I dont know him personally and I am shocked at what he achieved on a benefit. I know Winz lies to clients however, from personal experience. It took five meetings with different staff and finally one with a manager to get full entitlements for my cousin and she is blind and deaf. They told her no, no no no and finally yes. Never gave a reason.

I work hard and am able to live comfortably but struggle sometimes and have never had the funds for a holiday. Bring in working for the dole this will create jobs in communities and is the best way to wean out those who don't want to work. Every unemployed person in the community will have to work including solo mums/dads who youngest child is Ten years old. On school holidays the solo parents wont have to work so they can be at home for their kids. Evey one works 5 days a week with weekends off those that don't turn up don't get paid the dole. Simple.

Personally, I wouldn't go so far to condemn him to jail or the like, because if you think about it, he does have a point. A lot of the benefit receivers in NZ (I personally know many well off immigrant families who cheat the system with excuses about their children's lack of funding etc.). But we must question whether his method/medium of communication is vindicated? Rubbing shit in our face is probably not the best way to get the public's attention, and if anything, turns us against you.
