..yeah well to continue on the subject... i dont know why he sings i this silly way more and more in the last 10 years... i'm not sure he lost his voice.. but the way he sings changes the songs.. its like he sing in waves.. "heCAthches angEls as tHEy fAal.." etc.. completely different.. i ve seen tull 3 times and it was good but this wavy singing of his just drives me insane.. Na nana NaAnanaNAnanaANa.. up and down up and down..all songs sound the same.. too damn bad.. he still is a genious ofc
As long as there is an Ian Anderson and a Jethro Tull I will always listen to their music and go to their concerts. I've been to at least 10 of their concerts in the U.S. throughout the years and I enjoyed every one of them.
You people saying he should retire are critical jerks, he's doing fine and they stil sound great, obviously they can't sound as they did 30 plus years ago.
Jethro Tull, The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2DVD features concert footage from Tampa 1976, London Hippodrome 1977, Beat Club 1970 plus rare footage from Thick as a Brick/Passion Play tours more info available at Tommygunvideo please see our youtube channel for link/clips/more details
Paid €70 to see him last night in Cyprus. It was truly painful to watch. His flute playing was still excellent but his voice retired over 10 years ago so he should follow. What a shame - JT were so so good....
What's up with all the mockery? Sure his voice isnt the same it used to be but it's not THAT bad. Quite good actually. And I would pay a lot of money to see them and I will at least twice this year. That amount of virtuosity and musicality on one stage is enough to go see them. They are surely doing their best!
Time to hang it up Ian. Its a real shame because the music is not even there anymore. The vocals are really really horrible. The one thing I have got to say that is positive is that he is not using any lip syncing bullshit like some artists do. That would be really taking money from people illegally. This is almost as bad. I feel bad for anyone who actually paid to see this crap. This is making a mockery of Tull's music. Watch the Led Zeppelin reunion in 2007. That stands the test of time.
