I love watching films that look at the second world war from a different angle - like Paradise Road.

Watching this movie just made me realize something: The casulaties of war extends far beyond the battlefield. And beyond the countries in which wars are fought. I went to visit a student in 1990. ...He had committed suicide b/c his family was displaced and he lost everything after kuwait was invaded. War is so ugly and often unnecessary. Greed blinds the offenders and patriotism the conspirators.
