...yeah, what I was going to mention to the Finnish folk-sophisticates, the fans of this group...check out the Warsaw Village Band...which is somewhat conceived along these lines...they have a very "advanced", accomplished sound, and avoid, like a bad disease any hints of "going mainstream"...are uncompromisig "hard folk"...damn near the hardest I know of...
Out of interest: "Tauti" = "disease". The lyrics of the song (see the Värttinä website) are an invocation to drive away disease, which explains the choreography: depicting illness at first, then relaxing as the charm works.
It is always nice for someone to give sense to the ignorant mind of language.I am always amazed when I hear languages that aren't the ones I speak. They are beautiful to listen to and I wished I could at least,if not speak, but understand them! Thanks!
Yes. And it would still take the pharmacist three hours to put the words into a small orange plastic jar. We need on-the-shelf invocations available. But hey, Mari Kaasinen gave us this one for free. Kiitos, Mari.
This band is THE most expressive in their craft!!! Beautiful!!!
