Any fine powder will explode in a fireball but you need to protect the flame. I would suggest a ring of burning gas around the container with the powder in it. If you add copper filings to the powder (Cooper dust) you will get a nice colour with the bang. Seriously. Flour, Powdered sugar, etc, virtually any powder will produce a fireball. Even add some sulphur powder from a flare to ensure a good burn. You won't need much.

the problem you have is using the ammonium nitrate/aluminium, thats a high powered explosive and the shockwave from this will put out any flame, high brisance explosives are used commercially to put OUT certain fires such as on an oil well.

if you had used black powder or compressed air to disperse the coffee creamer it will work perfectly.

even though there is an oxidizer in Tannerite, it still consumes to much air, so the flare is extinquished the moment the Tannerite goes off. It never has a chance to light the coffee creamer fume ;)

You need to control the Tannerite explosion so the gas from that is driving all the creamer through a tube that passes the flare. Then you'll get a mean and terrible fireball.

The creamer made a nice geyser though.

They use dynamite to "blow out the candle" on oil well fires, as I recall. So you might have to choose between a big boom or a big fireball, no matter what you see on TV. I say big boom... They've used tannerite to blow up just about anything you can imagine on other videos though.

You can get a BIG fire ball by putting your tannerite on the bottom of a 55gal plastic drum with a flare on the top of the drum with about 20 gal of diesel fuel or kerosene in it. They do it at Knob Creek every shoot do a search for

That is just silly. All that work for that? Dear, if you want to see something interesting, take a large bag of flour, and initiate it with a stick of dynamite if you have it. If you don't have it, use another secondary explosive and primary. But, you want to have it as close to the center of the flour as possible. Then, tighten the bag of clour up with tight wrapping of duct tape. Seriously, give this thing a looong safe distance.

Next time, put the flare off to the side on a stick so it will get into the edge of the dispersing powder cloud, and instead of coffee creamer, use CORN STARCH..

Coffee creamer used to be mostly corn starch, but when prisoners began using it to make flame-throwers, they changed to corn syrup solids.

Coffee creamer is not all the same. The cheap coffee creamer is mostly titanium dioxide. I have heard the thing about it burning, and have worked with it some. there were no extra precautions for handling the whitener than any other powdered metal oxide. I suspect it is mostly like any other metal or oxide of metal where it tends to burn when finely ground and mixed with air.

The best way to do that would be a chemical reaction to add a catalyst / oxidizer, or to mechanically add air.

It's possible you did it backwards. The tannerite might have been supposed to go in first, before the creamer, to launch the creamer up to catch on the flare. I've seen it done with just air pressure and Creamer to make a large fireball. done by the mythbusters.

Jeff, Forget the coffee creamer!! Here's the simple way to get a nice fireball cheap! Tape or tie your 1 pound bottle of tannerite to a 5 pound bag of all purpose white flour. Then, suspend the bag of flour approx 5 feet in the air with TWO road flares spaced 5 feet apart underneath the bag of flour! The trick is, the flour MUST be suspended well above the road flares! Trust me....it works!! Heather will get a BIG boom along with a really nice fireball! Keep your distance, stay safe & have fun!
