  • You can't actaully use the LATCH anchors when you have the seat installed in the middle as it doesn't have its own anchor points. You are actually using the two inner anchors from the the outside two seats and that is kind of a no no because it wasn't crash tested that way. Its great to put baby in the middle but to put him/her there you will need to install with the seatbelt.

  • Here in Philadelphia you can take it to a Fire house/ station and they will make sure it is installed properly for free. I dont know if they do that there. But check they might. I did for both my cars.

  • If you take that route, make sure you are speaking with a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Many fire fighters are more than happy to help- but often install them incorrectly. They don't necessarily have any more training in car seat safety than your average Joe.

  • The technician who secured my seats also registered them, not fire fighters. Here in Philadelphia the technicians set their appointments at the fire house/station.

    Thanks for the correction.

  • Thanks! We checked it out and our city does that too!

  • CONGRATS ON WEEK 36! :) I can't believe ya'll have SNOW still! It's 80 degrees here right now. Shake it side to side to make sure it can't tip over sideways, and pull the handle towards the back sit to make sure it can't flip that way either. ;)

  • Ah, that is so cute!!!

  • cute carseat it matches your car lol x

  • i cant wait to get to that stage at installing the carseat! only 8 more weekslol!

  • Oh such a sweet car seat! I love the pattern :) Happy 36th week!

  • Ok that looked really easy! I am 34 weeks pregnant and my husband is about to install the car seat. I have been measuring between 1-2 weeks ahead so I def want to get the car seat installed

  • Wow, that really does make it feel real!!

  • Very nicely done.. and good job on reading your manual! A lot of people don't know they have to put the handle down in the car. It sure is getting close.

  • wow it's getting close now, i can't wait to get to that point.good luck.

  • Be sure to check the angle- a new baby needs a 45 degree angle (no more, no less). You can use tightly rolled towels and pool noodles to get the angle.

Also, be sure to have your seat checked by a child passenger safety technician, just to be extra safe! You can usually see one at a seat check event for free. Congrats :)

  • Thanks for the info!! Andy used the built in level that is attached to the seat to make sure the angle was correct.

  • that's a big deal! I love how you guys document the small yet meaningful things. good luck you guys! =)
