How well do the compression fittings hold the tubing? I noticed while you made your rocking motion to insert them, that they expanded a slight bit. Is there any possibility of damage?
I purchased some Bitspower rotary compression fittings that are of the same length. I am finding it very difficult to screw the fittings in and the thread has turned gold due to the friction.
On some fittings its screws all the way down, so the green ring is not that noticeable, but some don't screw to the same depth. My fingers have blistered a little and the paint has come off a little also.
What goes first? Screwing in the fittings to your system then cut and add the tubing or precut everything and mount your fittings to the tubing and then to the hardware?
@traffety You won't be able to screw the barbs in with the tubing attached ( 1 end you will but not the other ) If you wanna sort 1 end out first, that might be easier, but generally fit the barbs then add the tubing.
That would defeat the purpose of a compression fitting. The fittings are already designed not to leak. Also they are meant so you can take the tubing and put it on easy/take it off.
@juggolo okay i see your point but at the same merit you COULD use smaller tubing with compression fittings. im going from 1/2 id to 3/8 id on 1/2 compression fittings. also gonna switch from feser one to distilled water with a silver kill coil.
do you use compression fittings on the res ---> pump?

They hold the tubing just fine. I have been using compression fittings for around 2yrs now.

I have 1/2 ID - 3/4 OD tubing from Priomflex.

The barbs are so much easier

all you have to do is screw them down all the way until they don't screw don't any more.

@juggolo
They don't screw that much, you can still see the thread? Or is that okay?
Thanks for the reply

@MrGrandDragon
screw down as much as you can you should be ok. If not you will find out when you leak test

why cant you get a smaller size tube and larger compression fittings? wouldnt that be a tighter fit? also hows the new case coming along?

The new case is fine nothing new to report yet.

you shouldn't use a freaking wrench... you have to just hand tighten them.

@Murmedon
I tighten my fittings until the collar is all the way down. My friend mike had to do that to.
