I think he is lol. Well Gamer to answer your question console still doesn't have control that a computer does over units. It just doesn't work sadly, they make simplified (yet still fun) rts games like Halo Wars, or End War... Kingdom under fire 2 was going to be for xbox but.... it may not now.

@skvakagud Eh. I am almost out of my teens and I can say that I like the xbox. I just consider the ps3 as being more expensive whenever the xbox can run most of the same stuff except with a cheaper console. But what I really consider to be the more serious gaming platform is the computer. So having a crappy laptop doesn't help. But I just barely pass for this games minimum specs!

My main "arguement" for xbox been for more unserious players, is that its mainly showen in what you can get for xbox. Like wheels, headsets, keyboard etc.. All plastic cr*p if you dont mind my language. ( I own an xbox, xbox headset & xbox wheel so i know what im talkin about ) Where as PS3 allows you to use pc keyboards, and such. Which "serious" gamers want.

This game is going to be awesome!

A thing that could be nice to see on the battlefield, or on the horizon is a burning town or hamlet if you're fighting just outside a farm or university building you have just raided, would be amazing to see the smoke on the horizon, or at night be able to see fire on the horizon.

But I can wait with that until Rome 2 is made, i'm just glad that they have made ships availble in land battles. I hope they'll add this to Rome 2 too, if that's the next game :)

there's no use fighting over which title was the best. it's easy:

Shogun started it all, Rome revolutionized the genre on so many aspects, and Medieval 2 polished it all in what is probably the best strategy series of all time.

Empire is a good game, but it doesn't feel like total war.

@hjdutch don't make me laugh, if you look at more than just the graphics you'll see how much better Rome is. Have you tried them both online? There are allmost nobody online on Med2, because they all gave it up and went back to Rome. Now the skilled TW community is disappearing because whoever joins it now are just noobs lining up musketeers and hope for the best. Med2 is a very good game, but Rome is a lot better.

Rome TW is a game that is about six years old, aside from graphics it lacks the depth in diplomacy upgrades since Rome, the tech tree, and ninja assasination videos with 8x antialiasing. Cannot wait to go back and experience it ten years after playing the first of the series.

And people playing Rome online means nothing, just means they like men in metal skirts for some reason.

The graphics look awesome but I hope they put some effort into AI and gameplay. Total War's Achilles heel has always been the AI. If they don't fix the AI, I won't buy Shogun 2, no matter how pretty it is.

I hope they get the melee system right in Shogun 2. In Empire and Napoleon (Maybe even in Medieval 2, can't remember) motion capturing meant, that ALL melee fights were 1on1 affairs, even if you had 10 soldiers for every enemy soldier. Completely unrealistic.

Does this mean you can choose the character traits of your generals? I hope I'm interpreting this wrong, because the old system was 10 times better. Micromanaging the character traits of your agents/generals wouldn't just be boring, it would kill the immersion.
