This is from the show Human Weapon, basically they have 2 guys with MMA fighting experience and train them in a foreign martial art. They train them for a week or so to give them a basic idea on the self defense form and then put them up to a small challenge in the end to show how they've improved.
It's safe to say that in the beginning of the kraf maga episode they where easily destroyed.

@tombee2 there is a difference between all fighting styles. a martial art in its original defintion is a military/militant combat system. And martial art trained as a combat system is still a martial art. the USA army uses plenty of martial arts, everything in MMA to tang soo do. The quesion is have you done combative karate, muay boron, traditional MMA, and combative krav maga?
all serve the same purpose, just different ways of doing it.
I do KM and we do this sort of thing quite regularly. I used to do Kung fu which was beautiful but not good for street fighting. The attackers gave the defender a fighting chance and he reacted very well but in reality he would've taken more hits. Anyone who knows how to fight against GOOD fighters in real life knows what goes on. This is hard skills right here. I wish this was available to learn around my area.
@DAMINK666 I think the closest you get to that is cage fighting I do boxing but have just started a bit of the mma which I know just before someones going to fight they have a few people fighting them one after the other which really wears them down I have done a fair bit of boxing but in that mma you have the kicks and grapple pretty much everything.Try that mate.Ok it aint knife attacks though but tbh I think if they got a knife you better trying to get the f##kout of there.
@Juanicande Which ever style you do you need to do it regularly so that you don't have to think what to do if you are attacked - I also suggest training in a couple of styles - maybe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as you will need to learn how to grapple because a lot of fights end up on the floor and that might be better for that sort of thing. One other thing - if someone attacks you with a knife you should expect to get cut. If you can run that is the best option.

Interesting system. But it seems not much different then any other military combat system. dealing with a knife is tricky. no such this as "had only 3 knife slashes, but doing good". That first knife stab into his liver would be the first and the last one if it was real knife. often those who use knives will not show u they have a knife. it will look like a near-miss punch & next thing u know your jugular is sliced in half - lites out.

I didn't see anything special thing about Krav Maga. Yes, it's obviously a defence but anybody who have an experience in street fighting can do this. Any armed forces in every country train these type of defence. Why would anybody make it as if the israelis forces invented it?..with a special name 'Krav Maga'.I think most of the martial art..whether it's 'ring fight' or a 'street fight' originally mostly from Asia i.e TKD, karate, Aikido, Thai Boxing, Silat, Wing Chun, Taichi, Judo etc. Agree?

@tombee2 there is a difference between all fighting styles. a martial art in its original defintion is a military/militant combat system. And martial art trained as a combat system is still a martial art. the USA army uses plenty of martial arts, everything in MMA to tang soo do. The quesion is have you done combative karate, muay boron, traditional MMA, and combative krav maga?
all serve the same purpose, just different ways of doing it.

I do KM and we do this sort of thing quite regularly. I used to do Kung fu which was beautiful but not good for street fighting. The attackers gave the defender a fighting chance and he reacted very well but in reality he would've taken more hits. BTW jakex4 - if you have nothing decent to say get off here - you are offensive and disgusting - probably an uneducated idiot but that's just a guess - a decent person would not have written such vitriolic rubbish!

@DAMINK666 I think the closest you get to that is cage fighting I do boxing but have just started a bit of the mma which I know just before someones going to fight they have a few people fighting them one after the other which really wears them down I have done a fair bit of boxing but in that mma you have the kicks and grapple pretty much everything.Try that mate.Ok it aint knife attacks though but tbh I think if they got a knife you better trying to get the f##kout of there.

@Juanicande Which ever style you do you need to do it regularly so that you don't have to think what to do if you are attacked - I also suggest training in a couple of styles - maybe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as you will need to learn how to grapple because a lot of fights end up on the floor and that might be better for that sort of thing. One other thing - if someone attacks you with a knife you should expect to get cut. If you can run that is the best option.
