Hilarious. After 6 (game) days DogMeat will automatically go back to the front of Vault 101. You can go back and get him there. If you end up buying Broken Steel there's a perk that'll turn you to Good Karma, therefore you'll be able to get Fawkes or Star Paladin. Good Luck
