  • Thanks for this PJDooWop, a fine, swinging record with an excellent sax solo and superb vocals from Johnny Ace.

Hey bugsycline, there's a bunch of people who don't buy that Russian Roulette theory....Big Mama Thornton didn't - and, unlike me, she was there!

  • wow about time i here a new one of his ty u so much my grandma will love this he only has 2 albums out there right on cd i mean that u can by right and ty so much PJ DOOWOP

  • A solid sender for sure !

  • I saw recently a record by Johnny Ace Jr, apparently he had no son, somebody trying to capitalize on Johnny's death. Pure conjecture.

  • JOHNNY ACE.............ACES! TOM D.

  • This song was indeed the flipside to "Pledging My Love", but my copy had "Anymore" instead of "No Money". What a bummer!

  • The copies with "Anymore" on the flip also feature an overdubbed chorus.

  • I love Johnny Ace. His story is quite sad...

however his records are quite common... because they were good and people bought them. perhaps we'd be calling Johnny "The King" had he not killed himself playing russian roulete.

also, there's a guy in New York calling himself Johnny Ace, but it sure ain't "the" Johnny Ace. another fine post from my pal PJ

  • love it!

  • Brilliant - Thanx!

  • Very app especially after Christmas!!! Great post :))

  • This is true lol

  • Just wicked!!

  • Oh Man! I can't believe you got this. I've been trying to find this for ages! My father had this 78 many years ago.

  • It's a relatively common 78. I never really went out of my to find a mint copy because I know they're out there (strange logic, huh?). If you go on Ebay I'm sure there are a few available

  • This is SO nice! Thank you PJ!

  • You're very welcome

  • Always loved this, definitely a GREAT flip side (for the list!!) lol. Anymore by Johnny Ace is great too! I've had and sold so many of these, it's not even funny! One of the first Doo Wop era records I ever bought! Nice post, I'm surprised I never posted this... one of those songs that pops in your head when u least expect it. "I got no money baby no place to call my own..." great stuff!

  • It amazes me how this is a pretty common record on both 78 and 45 and yet this one is commonly overlooked
