  • Hi mate

I have a maybe it's silly question but something that is really worrying me. I bought a 70litre black thin plastic dust bin. I think you call them garbage bins to make and mix my RO di water. I can smell the plastic and worried if this is going to cause harm to my fish. Can you help.

Also I have just started using d I unit after seeing one of your vids.

    Thanks Mark.

  • you just took one messy area and moved it to another, that wire cabinet looks like a nightmare as well

  • pimp my tank!!

  • very nice setup i love it. i want to make a canopy top like that but im no good in building things ;(

  • lol hilaroius caring that pug like that!

  • i want to start a reef tank nothing huge but is it possible to have a reef tank with out haveing to buy evrything like the skimmers and the stuff in the sump. can you just have a simple setup for someone who knows nothing about saltwater tanks and isnt too expensive?

  • mark. i have a 120 am looking around for a used skimmer. was wondering if you had any or knew of ANY. CT is the boonies for reef tanks

  • @Teslasdik your local reef club (if you have one) is always a good bet as is the major forums (3reef, etc)

  • @mrsaltwatertank ya but id rather not sign up. still have any i could buy? plus even tho u dont know me i feel like i know you. not to be weird. lol

  • No kids at our house unless you count the ones with four paws and no, I don't throw the controller. See you online!

  • Anyone else notice the XBOX at 3:27

All I would say is I hope his son never throws the controller when he plays cause there is SO MUCH MONEY invested to the right

  • what ever happened to going Natural? Like the old school way?

  • WOW! i'd dream to go diving in his tank:D

  • wow this is a great tank,im in the process of setting up a small 30g sps tank and hope they turn out as beautiful and healthy as his

  • Great stuff. Enjoying your channel. Keep up the good work! From 1 reefer to the next...thanks!

  • live near a ocean dude, save a lot in equipment

  • im only 15 and already a reef junkie lol

  • NICE TANK WOWWWW

  • I really like the music you choose for your videos!

  • @abaneyone Thanks! I only use John Bohlinger's music and it is all great stuff to listen to.

  • @mrsaltwatertank Does he know you use his music? Have you let him know? Just wondering.

  • @abaneyone Yep. He knows. We've worked on a TV show together in the past so he knows I use it.

  • ok got it

  • @minireefer he's planning a bigger tank for the spring.

In case anyone else is looking for my tank personality report, you can download it @ my website, mrsaltwatertank (dot) com. Youtube won't let me post links in comments.

  • nice setup must admit clean n well thought out.

my only neg thought would be all that setup (externally which i really love and planning on doing further down the track) for a 4ft tank if im not mistaken?

a much larger say 8ft would suit the build.

other than that nice vid n tank

    cheers

    ps

how the hell do i get the tank personallity

cant see a link to download it or do i have to send u a email

  • UV light from the sun will eat away at the plastic in the equipment.

  • best idea for a saltwater tank ever... Live next to the ocean. Pump water in, pump it back out. This is what i would do. Although i would probably not put corals in. Perhaps fish that one could catch in their area. Also i would do it in say a 1000 gallon or more tank. Just what i think would be a great idea for it. Lol

  • @zackiscrazy95 actually a lot of commercial/museum aquariums do this if they are close to the ocean. And they have very precise instruments watching the water to make sure nothing goes wrong.

    Build a 100G tank...I'll come film it!

  • Look forward to that, thanks for your response

  • When you doing more videos really enjoy them and learn a lot ????

  • @dm002a8686 Well, I dropped my camera (oops) and its getting repaired. I should have it back next week.

Thanks for the question and I'll be back as soon as I have a camera to shoot with!

  • Thanks I'll take a look at them .

  • No just how many I would need for my tank thanks 750 litre tank witch includes about 100 litre in sump

  • @dm002a8686 I'd do 2 mp40s for sure, 3 if you can afford it. I'd put the 3rd on the back.

That's assuming you want to do a mixed reef tank. If you want to do a heavy SPS tank, 3 would be the minimum

  • @dm002a8686 I forgot to mention the other day, but a tunze 6215 wavebox would be a great addition to your tank. Way better money spent than a vortec.

  • Could you please help me I am going to get vortech mp 40 es for my reef tank it's 750 litre witch includes sump would I need 1 or 2 off these

  • @dm002a8686 I'm clear on what you are asking...do you need to know where to buy them?

  • you should make a videos on how to do a waterchange

  • @zacguitarshreder12 I made one on how to mix up your salt for a water change...make sure you check it out.

And i'll add a full blown water change one to my lineup. Thanks for the suggestion!

  • Nice sump! What is that other thing next to the tunze skimmer? It nice to not see any micro bubble coming out of the skimmer.

  • @haivang1 Its a vertex reactor that holds Zeovit stones. They are part of the Zeovit system.

  • Keep them coming great stuff

  • @dm002a8686 Thanks! I'm going to run out of tanks in town!

  • that yellow tang looks like hes been thru crap..

  • @ryjack26 He's had a bit of rough going, but he's recovering.

  • that'll be a blast to redo his tank in a year when the coral is overgrown lol.

  • @cmanclan101 I doubt it will be that long!

  • thats crazy

  • @h1n1v1rus yeah. Makes me jealous. For sure the next time I move, the new house will have to allow for such a setup.
