I have a maybe it's silly question but something that is really worrying me. I bought a 70litre black thin plastic dust bin. I think you call them garbage bins to make and mix my RO di water. I can smell the plastic and worried if this is going to cause harm to my fish. Can you help.
Also I have just started using d I unit after seeing one of your vids.
i want to start a reef tank nothing huge but is it possible to have a reef tank with out haveing to buy evrything like the skimmers and the stuff in the sump. can you just have a simple setup for someone who knows nothing about saltwater tanks and isnt too expensive?
@minireefer he's planning a bigger tank for the spring.
In case anyone else is looking for my tank personality report, you can download it @ my website, mrsaltwatertank (dot) com. Youtube won't let me post links in comments.
my only neg thought would be all that setup (externally which i really love and planning on doing further down the track) for a 4ft tank if im not mistaken?
a much larger say 8ft would suit the build.
other than that nice vid n tank
cheers
ps
how the hell do i get the tank personallity
cant see a link to download it or do i have to send u a email
best idea for a saltwater tank ever... Live next to the ocean. Pump water in, pump it back out. This is what i would do. Although i would probably not put corals in. Perhaps fish that one could catch in their area. Also i would do it in say a 1000 gallon or more tank. Just what i think would be a great idea for it. Lol
@zackiscrazy95 actually a lot of commercial/museum aquariums do this if they are close to the ocean. And they have very precise instruments watching the water to make sure nothing goes wrong.

UV light from the sun will eat away at the plastic in the equipment.

When you doing more videos really enjoy them and learn a lot ????
dm002a8686 1 year ago
@dm002a8686 Well, I dropped my camera (oops) and its getting repaired. I should have it back next week.
Thanks for the question and I'll be back as soon as I have a camera to shoot with!

Thanks I'll take a look at them .

No just how many I would need for my tank thanks 750 litre tank witch includes about 100 litre in sump
dm002a8686 1 year ago
@dm002a8686 I'd do 2 mp40s for sure, 3 if you can afford it. I'd put the 3rd on the back.
That's assuming you want to do a mixed reef tank. If you want to do a heavy SPS tank, 3 would be the minimum
mrsaltwatertank 1 year ago
@dm002a8686 I forgot to mention the other day, but a tunze 6215 wavebox would be a great addition to your tank. Way better money spent than a vortec.
mrsaltwatertank 1 year ago
Could you please help me I am going to get vortech mp 40 es for my reef tank it's 750 litre witch includes sump would I need 1 or 2 off these
dm002a8686 1 year ago
@dm002a8686 I'm clear on what you are asking...do you need to know where to buy them?
mrsaltwatertank 1 year ago
you should make a videos on how to do a waterchange
zacguitarshreder12 1 year ago
@zacguitarshreder12 I made one on how to mix up your salt for a water change...make sure you check it out.
And i'll add a full blown water change one to my lineup. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nice sump! What is that other thing next to the tunze skimmer? It nice to not see any micro bubble coming out of the skimmer.
