  • @princessnisey2 she is saying her last goodbye to her friend/master/boyfriend/however you want to interpret it. the music is upbeat, but you can hear the sadness in the vocals

  • favorite version of this song <3

  • I want these lyrics engraved onto my tombstone

  • Its cute but it kinda sounds like she singing underwater....instead of her electronic voice <.<

  • @PoutineProductions There's a whole bunch of versions of this song. This version isn't my favorite. Search around-- I know Sarriechan has Vocaloid download videos with this song in there somewhere...

  • If i get 30 thumbs up I will cosplay as miku for my first animecon

  • who ever dont like tis iz hartless

  • 喪服な事に気づいた

  • gosh im sure i make up at least 1,000 of those views XD i love this song so much

  • I almost cried...

    A sad song

  • Is this the original song, or is the other, slower and more ambient version the original? I don't know which ones are remixes anymore. @A@

  • @luv4manga This is the original c:

  • @ThePinkDango

I pumped my heart to this beat!

  • nice PV but the translation sucks.

  • at 0:52 you use "prey," since i read the description I think you might mean to use the word "prayer" since "prey" is usually referred to as whatever is hunted. I love the song though.

  • really cute tune

  • I cried for whoever this is about..

  • guys, you can get Onyx's mp3s include this song.

visit original video URL and read his comment :)

    the ZIP is his gift.

  • i luv Kobayashi onyx's compositions <3 i like how he uses the more quiet and soft version of miku!

  • LOL, with so many songs to play at my funeral it will become a 3 days long party XD

  • @ONILEO00 lol ur is gonna be 3 days long gratz :D mines only gonna be about 3 months long XD

  • @ONILEO00 You'll be never remembered.

  • Like if it's-Oh wait, I have a life.

  • ミクの声もさ

    進化してるよね

  • the creator of this got a free seat at the next miku hatsune concert in usa :) so lucky O_O"

  • @CirnosMathClass REALLY?! But then again, the tickets are only 15 or 20 dollars at Anime Expo. Sadly, I was too late to buy them, though. :S

  • @xDaigurenHyorinmarux OH I KNOW... me too :(

  • First time listening to the song: Oh wow, this is so upbeat! :D *taps foot along*

    Reads english translation: .... ;^;

  • AWESOME

  • A sad song with colourful themed.Oh wow...this PV gave me reason for one nendoroid of Miku with black outfit holding flower.

  • 2:29 Chest close up! XD

  • ( note : just something noticed, not that i dont respect the wonderful song Q o Q )

.. notice that mikus picture holding a flower while facing front ? its shaped as a papaya

  • This was one of the first vocaloid songs I fell in love with, and it's still up there in my favorites. Even before I knew the lyrics, this song managed to be upbeat, but it still sounded....sad. Once I saw the English translation, I almost cried, no joke. Now, I feel like crying again, almost out of nostalgia. <3 I love vocaloid...

  • さいはて(最果て)(saihate) (farthest)

    1. Edge that there is from this ahead.

    2. The end.

  • @thiscleverusername

actually, most of the old vocaloid songs are listened till today since theyre so good,

  • @thiscleverusername when did this song come out??

  • @GiggityZZ I believe it came out in January of 2008.

  • @thiscleverusername No!!! This is the year 7088!!! :D

  • This reminds me of Saya... She cosplayed as Miku from Saihate... and now it's almost as if it's come true...

  • play this at my funeral

  • @joey50557 wouldn't this be kind of happy for a funeral?

  • @joey50557 wouldn't this be kind of happy for a funeral? o wait i just looked up at the lyrics nevrmind.

  • ZEBRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • I wander what it's like out there?

  • I can't really hear her over the music, but it's a cute song. It's sad though.:c

  • MarQchizan estubo aqui

  • i prefer the 'sadder' version. its super sad and cute and awesome all at once. but i think this one distorts her voice

  • @MizukiKimo where can I watch it ?

  • This song is supposed to be sad, right? So why does it make me so happy?

  • @origamisnow Two words: Lyrical dissonance. You could hear this and think it's the happiest song in the world... Until you read the lyrics and see that it's a farewell song. There's probably a reason but I'd probably trying to make it make sense. "^^

  • Quality is awful

  • This song (video) kinda gives me the creeps and chills... but AWESOME SONG THOUGH D:D (A smiley that represents a "OMG" and a "EPIC" emotion)

  • This video is about something.

I don't know what that something is, if someone knows, then please tell me.

    But whatever it's about,

It doesn't HAVE to make sense to be beautiful.

  • @Zilla10101042 It is a beautiful song. It's also about saying goodbye to a person you love. The most common interpretation is that it's about someone the narrator loves dying. Kind of a downer, huh? /shot

  • @Venraven But she words it in such an innocent way like she can't believe that her lover is actually gone, so to me it's almost cute in its own way.

  • @origamisnow I know! She makes sad songs sound cute....Rin and Len don't, they make it downright sad :( But I like it ♥

  • what's the voice type miku used here?

  • I`M JAPANESE

  • @Whatdidyoudotome Good for you? So am I?

  • When you listen this song, you should know that in Japan people have the deceased cremated insted of buried.

then you will understand what means "smoke of you" and "the door(of cremator)"

  • I thought this had more views..... such a pretty song ;_;

  • what does "Opening the door heading, to you who are going way beyond." means.. ??

    explanation ?? anyone??

  • @12enma12 Like ono108 said, most cremate their dead in Japan instead of burying them. So I'm guessing they mean the door to the cremator :)

  • lol zebras...

  • Which version of Saihate is this? ;__;

  • @Toetoi I think that it's the original version no wait, I'm sure this is the original version. ^ ^

  • @Toetoi The original. There are three main version: Original (this one), Heavenly, and Ballad. There also countless remixes.

  • I love how you added the whole reference information at the description.

It makes much more sense and it makes it much more meaningful and deeper than by just seeing your translation and images (the river bit always puzzled me a bit until I guess it had to do with crossing over)

    Thanks so much! =D

  • Target invasion

  • this song always goes by too quickly...

  • they have a nendoroid for this, but they don't have a nendoroid for matryoshka?

  • I love this song... especially the chorus

  • oh my god i started crying because of the lyrics because it reminded me so much of me and my brother Q_Q

  • so that explains the Zebra part. XD

  • Man, the lyrics are good but at least this version of this song it's terrible

  • I want this played on my funeral.

  • @fangurls101

    I AGREE

    (ಠ_ಠ)/

  • @noodleX2d996 Thank you.

  • is this a remix???

    its definitely not the original....

    whats this version called?

lol the original is a lot prettier

    you can hardly even hear her in this one ;A;

  • i have a saihate miku figurine. 8)

  • 0:21 MIKU CANKLES! :D

  • MAH FAVORITE MIKU SONG!!!!~ *inserts heart here*

  • where can i find that compiled picture with miku on the guitar and stuff? xD

it would make an awesome background o3o

  • I think this song is lovely and I believe it has the potential to be listened to, but there's too many tracks of sound playing at once. It sounds lovely in the beginning, but when it all kicks in, it's just too much. That, and the track is too loud in comparison to Miku's voice.

This is just my opinion, I'm no music expert and I don't claim to be one - I'm simply stating why I can't listen to this through to the end.

  • @CRIMS0NGAARA Well, that's how most techno music is composed. Many phrases, looping and repeating while stacked upon one another.

Most Vocaloid songs are techno too, but It has to be stated that the full quality mp3 of this song has a better sound to it, and sounds clearer. This one probably sounds too full and loud because of the low quality youtube codec.

  • awwww its cute~

  • when i die, i want this to be my farewell song ^^ and i'm not kidding D: Ok, maybe i am but. you know. Anything's possible!

  • @YukikoKiku I totally agree... Call me morbid, but I'm putting that in my "last wishes".

  • 22 people like sex, drugs and drinking.

  • @SuzumiyaL Boo to those 22 people

  • Kind of funny that the most popular singers are so terrible (save a few exceptions), and obscure songs made by anonymous people on a simple program are a thousand times better. It baffles me.

  • @TheSaintGamer If you want the truth I'm glad vocaloid isn't very well known. These singers are superb, and the fact they're unknown makes it more personal. You know, you feel closer to them. Besides, I wouldn't want them to be categorized with talentless morons. It baffles me too though.

  • @Chiimokosan I'm glad we think alike here, chiimokosan. And yes, Vocaloid shouldn't get too popular, or else people that gave record deals to (anonymous freaking 12 year old) or others. They would exploit it so!

  • @Chiimokosan I dunno... they make these songs to share with the world. It's quite inspiring to watch such artists become famous, because these are the kinds of musicians the world needs right now. We need real musicians that create true music.

  • @TheSaintGamer It's the animation... the animation...

  • @TheSaintGamer

    completly agree XD

  • @TheSaintGamer I was about to disagree with you (because Miku is REALLY popular), than I remembered we're not in Japan... oh!

But still, Vocaloid is not a simple program AT ALL. There's some serious music knowledge required there.

  • @Eniacbc That is true, it is not a simple program, but what I mean by that is that anyone can pick it up and create something. You don't have to sing, you don't have to dance, all it takes is a little time and a bit of imagination.

  • @TheSaintGamer

I attribute a lot of this to how Miku is an instrument that confroms to the composer's instruction, while a human singer can have an attitude.

  • @kendaigmj Yes, I suppose that's correct.

  • @TheSaintGamer Yeah, at Haruhi Suzumiya no Gekisou concert, Aya Hirano was horrible on Bouken Desho Desho. Search it, and prepare for massive ear bleeding.

  • @TheSaintGamer quite true. also, SCREW YOU YOUTUBE. RUINED THE QUALITY AGAIN...

  • @RedOfFlames They keep changing the format! when will they be content?

  • @TheSaintGamer When they find a way to fuck us up even more.

  • @TheSaintGamer lol soo true~~

  • @TheSaintGamer

It's sad. :C but maybe if this stuff were really popular it wouldn't be so special

  • @TheSaintGamer Onyx Kobayashi is by no means an anonymous person, and Vocaloid2 is by no means a simple program. Kobayashi-san's gonna be a guest of honor at Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles, and Vocaloid2 was t developed through a joint research project between the Pompeu Fabra University in Spain and Yamaha Corporation, who backed the development financially. Look it up.

  • @moopMASTER2000Films ah, well then I apologize for my ignorance.

  • @TheSaintGamer Yay! :D

  • @TheSaintGamer Cause popular singers a lot of the times are in it for money and gain. People who make these songs though do it because they just want to purely make great music. ^^

  • @SVDDragonova Truer words have never been spoken, friend.

  • This is the one song that got me into vocaloid. :3

  • Wow...The rapidly flashing images are reallyl bad for your eyes...I'm feeling a little dizzy now...

  • I agree with you NoteDeath, but at the same time the emotion is bought out in the singing.

  • @EldaAndChii Yes, True. :)

  • @ricerox i was thinking the same thing the other day. american music has gone down hill really bad. not to mention most of the songs sound EXACTLY alike. why can't america have songs with meaning like a friend dying n it being okay, or maybe just one that doesnt make sence n messes wit ur brain. anyone who reads this comment knows exactly what im talking about.

  • This is by far the saddest happy sad song ever.

    ...

    If that makes sense,yes.

  • @SpecialKisty

How does "Hello planet" compare? Heck, Might was well throw "Shuumatsu ga yattekuru" in there while I'm at it.

  • Is this the remix of the farewell song??? O.O

  • The 22 dislikes came from all the other jealous Vocaloids and Utauloids.

  • soo... epic... >o<

  • me gusta que namine ritsu cante la de saihate

  • the subs are like Yoda in Miku form...

    <3

  • D: this is such a great song.. I just put my cat to sleep, and I'm crying, and this song really sympathizes with me. That cat was my life... Thanks for the upload. ^^

  • This was actually the song I listened to when my grandmother passed away v.v because I remembered what it was about...

I really do think it applies to losing/missing anyone close to you 3:

  • lolz Attending to a funeral while wearing head phones

people will think you are listening .....

  • im going NUTS here, the links for mp3 dont work, i cant find the mp3 for this version of the song anywhere, somene please help me, I really like this song

  • @XxFaelinexX did you try youtube converter ?

  • @XxFaelinexX

Try using Youtube downloader converter to mp3

    Just Google

  • @Pacmau01

Yuk, that destroys the quality (what little Youtube has). Try looking at soundares profile for instructions to download the mp3... can usually find a 192/320kbps rip.

  • did it mean "pray" instead of "Prey"?cause pray would make more sense.

  • @Scythewielder137 yes. its "prayer".

  • Once again, Soundares proves to have the most robust translations.

  • for some reason all vocaloid songs are awesome... they all have great text... somtimes funny, somtimes sad, somtimes angry, but they all make sense in their own way :3

  • Saihate is such a misleading song. I made a custom PV in Project Diva: Hatsune Miku before I knew what the lyrics meant; it sounded so upbeat so I made an upbeat PV.

    I feel like such a criminal ;_;

  • @moniquekat oooh u got project diva...care to join our custom pv project?

  • @divinecupid Sure. XD Depends on how much time I'd have to devote to it, per se, or if we're using the PV editor in Project Diva or Project Diva 2nd (which...yeah, I don't have the game yet, so I don't know how to use it yet) XDD

  • @moniquekat its fine we're all taking our time with it. so long as u get something done regularly.

  • i am Japanese and i don't know how to speak it. yay!

  • melt make me cry but im glad miku is letting go a little

  • the video with kaito [ MMD ] made me a kaitoxmiku fan no offense to those who like MeikoxKaito i prefer Miku X Kaito ^^"

  • Zebra?

  • @IriomoteMewMew

    Yes.

  • @IriomoteMewMew Black and white stripes= Japanese mourning color, and zebras= black and white stripes XD It makes me sad that my favorite animal means death in Japan T^T

  • @IriomoteMewMew zebra.

  • ...

    My heart

    it was just torn apart.

    WHY DO I READ LYRICS

    WHY

  • It might just be me, but the animation for this vid seems like it was done by White Fox, the same guys who did Katanagatari.

  • It's so innocent and sad, but the beat keeps it really optimistic and happy. Beautiful. <3

  • This video is too happy for the song... if you watch the other one with the 3d animation it brings out the meaning much better

  • @mekurabugoshujinhaha Shut up. You emo fag.

  • @moopMASTER2000Films Lol, never tried to insult anybody. It's a comment, you know? Doesn't need an answer.

  • @mekurabugoshujinhaha I have a question. How do you spell your username? Never mind, I'm going to take it that you are a total shutin. All you do all day is watch anime, or snuff film. My god, you are a waste of space! How do you live with yourself? You shut in. O_o

  • @moopMASTER2000Films I'm far far from a shutin and to be honest, I haven't watched anime in sooo long. Never watched a snuff film in all my days. And it's pretty easy to live with myself, because myself is me. :P

  • I keep thinking the yellow flowers are Len's head ._.

  • @JesusGirlz09 OMG I cracked up when I saw your comment! That was soo frickin' funny rofl o.o

  • errrr... shouldn't this be a sad song instead?

  • @LNasterio If you want the sad version (without the lyrics) find the Ballad version.

    Waay sadder.

  • Miku and Kaito were traveling together one day when they got caught in a car crash. Miku lost her left arm and leg, but Kaito received a much more cruel fate. Miku and a bunch of friends (mostly UTAU, still plenty of VOCALOIDs) went to Kaito's funeral, where Miku got to say her final goodbye and promised to keep on living to Kaito in a vision. Life went on, and Miku was given a new arm and leg. This is her farewell song to Kaito, the more unfortunate of the two.

  • I like the PV better than the softer version. But I like the softer version more

  • Ah~ This is my favourite version of my favourite vocaloid song! Though I'm a Len fan, I like Miku more now. It seems death is not all gloomy gloomy for the rest of everyone's life ^__^ In my opinion, it's a good song for those who have lost someone-..well.. they sure should have time to recover first though.

  • way to make a song about death sound so happy...

  • hey guys i have the same song but diferent version, why?

  • @gaomon99 This is the original one. Many people covered it, and make a lot of version.

  • @remain133 Thank you but I thing I like more the another version

  • I have the Miku's Nendoroid of this song

  • this is one of my favorite songs

love the art, music, lyrics, beat...

i love "touched through one ordinary life"
