This type engine design is not stealthy at all! If they go on to use this engine or any other like it for production Pak-fa than this plane will be in big trouble when it comes to rear sector stealth. The Pakfa already isn't as stealthy as F-22, installing this type as the engine will only widen the gap.
No, this is an old model (Aricle 117s), which was used for the construction of PAK-FA. Those things are buildet in the new SU-35 today. T-50 is using the newest model of 5th generation engine today, the AL-41F1. The next step of upgrading is -Article 129-
@Thestealthfighterguy american has it on f22 but this one is better since the other one need loads of maintenance and reparation after each flight.. What the use of having a failed stealth engine then?
Moreover the russian design help the aircraft to perform manoeuvre that the f22 cannot.

@hotrod4you2 eeem nf-16 was a test plane and used vector thrust nozzle which Mig's and Su's used for decades! if you want to compare the vector thrust than at least say f-22, not nf-16.

Mig-29 built in 1977 with thrust vectoring, su-27 already built by this time. in 1987 they introduced SU 33, probably one of the best planes which uses thrust vectoring. they got su-30, this one is the best fighter with the thrust vectoring. and all USA o=got are f-22 which can't fly. and f-35 which is expensive and tehrefore useless to use against mig.
@thecompactt I have every single book on the Mig 29 and the SU-27 and I have not found a single paragraph on the Mig 29 having thrust vectoring till the MIG 29 OVT which first flew in 1991. FYI the first flight of the SU-35 w/o thrust vectoring was in June 1988, by that time the F-15 STOL,F-16 VISTA, F-18 HARV were all flying with some type of thrust vectoring.SU-35 was then updated into the SU37 variant which has thrust vectoring and its maiden fligh was in April 1996, 10 years after US..

@socshooter the first su-27 with axisymmetric thrust vectoring nozzle (T10-26) flew in 1989. Saturn started the project in 1986. About the same time, a flat 2D nozzle was developed, flew in 1990 - but was dropped for the axisymmetric one. I dunno where the hell you are getting 10 years.

@Ruckerjd01283 Do you know how limited IRST is in range? If you are making comments like this, you really dont. When you can see something from 20 miles away that can shoot at you from over 100. Weather screws with IRST and even high winds can mess with it. Very little IR radiation gets to the Earth and so the technology is very limited to close quarter combat. Godspeed with that against BVR technology. IFthe B2 was so easy to see with IRST it would not have been shot down.

"Developed by US in 60s" means nothing only Russian Multiaxis nozzles were proved on 'In-Service' fighter platforms with no problem yet. West still completely blind about the metallurgy of these nozzle bearings(works in extreme temperature). Western prototypes failed in reliability and consistency tests.. So its the first working-well technology of Multiaxis nozzles. Also 5th Gen.
@JineshJK The F-16 MATV was the first Multi Axis nozzle ever on an aircraft. The Russians copied the MATV design and made the nozzles longer, that is the only difference in the design. The MATV engine was first designed in 1988 and flew on the F-16MATV until 1993. Please do some research before making claims that the US didnt have a 3D TVC working because they had both 2D and 3D going far before the Russians.

It took the Russians this long to develop a fighter to even compete with the F-15. 3D TVC gets you shot down because pilots can over compensate which, killing their speed and causing them to fall from the sky. That is why the F-15 dominated the Su-30MKI at Red Flag in 2008. It was a complete reversal of what happened in 2004. Why? Because the F-15 pilots taht were using in 04' were new to the aircraft.

@JineshJK ummm the IAF were the ones who set the terms of that exercise and I suggest you look that up because the US was flying at 6:1 odds against the USAF and could not use its BVR weapons. There were a lot of rules made up in the exercise by the IAF so please stop saying the US holds immense control when it was the IAF who set up conditions of its own.

This is as bad as when the Russians claimed to have shot down a B-2 bomber when they were showing the canopy of the F-117. Every B-2 is accounted for except one that crashed after take off because of mechanical failure. All the MiG-29 kills from F-15/F-16's have been verified by guncams. @BBEEAANN1 here were a total of 7 MiG-29's scrapped in Kosovo to air to air. 2 from F-16's and 5 from F-15's. The Dutch with an F-16AMs with 1 kill, the USAF with an F-16, and 5 MiG-29's from F-15's from the USAF. The US goes out and takes pictures of the aircraft they shoot down as well. They have gun cams for day and at night when the AWACS doesnt see you on the radar anymore, yeah, you have been shot down. There were also 4 killed on the ground and not to mention the ones killed

@JineshJK The US bought the engine from for the harrier variant of the F-35, not the 3D TVC that they had already mastered. The YAK engine is what they bought because the Russians werent using the design so the saved time and money on research and developement on that specific engine for the harier variant of the F-35. The US did not go to the Russians for help with their 2D or 3D TVC which they were doing more than 10 years before the Russians.

This type engine design is not stealthy at all! If they go on to use this engine or any other like it for production Pak-fa than this plane will be in big trouble when it comes to rear sector stealth. The Pakfa already isn't as stealthy as F-22, installing this type as the engine will only widen the gap.

No, this is an old model (Aricle 117s), which was used for the construction of PAK-FA. Those things are buildet in the new SU-35 today. T-50 is using the newest model of 5th generation engine today, the AL-41F1. The next step of upgrading is -Article 129-

Mig-29 built in 1977 with thrust vectoring, su-27 already built by this time. in 1987 they introduced SU 33, probably one of the best planes which uses thrust vectoring. they got su-30, this one is the best fighter with the thrust vectoring. and all USA o=got are f-22 which can't fly. and f-35 which is expensive and tehrefore useless to use against mig.

@thecompactt I have every single book on the Mig 29 and the SU-27 and I have not found a single paragraph on the Mig 29 having thrust vectoring till the MIG 29 OVT which first flew in 1991. FYI the first flight of the SU-35 w/o thrust vectoring was in June 1988, by that time the F-15 STOL,F-16 VISTA, F-18 HARV were all flying with some type of thrust vectoring.SU-35 was then updated into the SU37 variant which has thrust vectoring and its maiden fligh was in April 1996, 10 years after US..

@socshooter the first su-27 with axisymmetric thrust vectoring nozzle (T10-26) flew in 1989. Saturn started the project in 1986. About the same time, a flat 2D nozzle was developed, flew in 1990 - but was dropped for the axisymmetric one. I dunno where the hell you are getting 10 years.

@Ruckerjd01283 Do you know how limited IRST is in range? If you are making comments like this, you really dont. When you can see something from 20 miles away that can shoot at you from over 100. Weather screws with IRST and even high winds can mess with it. Very little IR radiation gets to the Earth and so the technology is very limited to close quarter combat. Godspeed with that against BVR technology. IFthe B2 was so easy to see with IRST it would not have been shot down.

"Developed by US in 60s" means nothing only Russian Multiaxis nozzles were proved on 'In-Service' fighter platforms with no problem yet. West still completely blind about the metallurgy of these nozzle bearings(works in extreme temperature). Western prototypes failed in reliability and consistency tests.. So its the first working-well technology of Multiaxis nozzles. Also 5th Gen.

@JineshJK The F-16 MATV was the first Multi Axis nozzle ever on an aircraft. The Russians copied the MATV design and made the nozzles longer, that is the only difference in the design. The MATV engine was first designed in 1988 and flew on the F-16MATV until 1993. Please do some research before making claims that the US didnt have a 3D TVC working because they had both 2D and 3D going far before the Russians.

It took the Russians this long to develop a fighter to even compete with the F-15. 3D TVC gets you shot down because pilots can over compensate which, killing their speed and causing them to fall from the sky. That is why the F-15 dominated the Su-30MKI at Red Flag in 2008. It was a complete reversal of what happened in 2004. Why? Because the F-15 pilots taht were using in 04' were new to the aircraft.

White force the umpire of the Exercise(includes AWACS, different kinds of Radar Warning systems. Its a totally USAF controlled situation. @JineshJK ummm the IAF were the ones who set the terms of that exercise and I suggest you look that up because the US was flying at 6:1 odds against the USAF and could not use its BVR weapons. There were a lot of rules made up in the exercise by the IAF so please stop saying the US holds immense control when it was the IAF who set up conditions of its own.

@BBEEAANN1 IAF didnt use any AWACS to control that exercise. They didnt use any third party IAF team to monitor the exercise. Didnt forced to use IAF datalink shared targets,etc. BVR combat is still a prohibitted in Red Flag exercise. Only used in specially organized war simulations. Thats usual.

At first Israeli Air force avoided any contact with Soviet jets. Before that Soviet pilots pushed Israeli Airforce back a lot by only conducting interceptor mission. @JineshJK I suggest you look at who had the most forces in Serbia and what aircraft shot down what over Serbia, that was the USAF and the NAVY doing most of the leg work. Vietnam US losses 47,000 N. Vietnamess/Vietcong losses 1.6 million. The US lost the war politically, not militarily. Read some history. Russia doesnt have the pilots to do that to NATO and the response to that would not go well for Russia.

@JineshJK Yeah that is why the US gives proof of its kills by guncams and everyone else stating they have killed F-15/F-16's have no gun cams. This is as bad as when the Russians claimed to have shot down a B-2 bomber when they were showing the canopy of the F-117. Every B-2 is accounted for except one that crashed after take off because of mechanical failure. All the MiG-29 kills from F-15/F-16's have been verified by guncams. I wanted to learn about my heritage so I started researching. I found out that even though the US military did the Natives wrong, the Natives were doing far worse to themselves iin wars before and after the white man showed up.And if you actually researched the topic you would know this. @BBEEAANN1 What happened in Vietnam? Only Soviet help on other side destroyed US army completely. then imagine a direct war.. Without NATO support US cant shot a fire on foreign soil. Always invading poor countries after well planned intense preparation(5-10 year missions before each war, create internal problems like upraises,riot, shameless political games,Corruption,killing civilians,etc.) B-2 cant conduct any mission against well defined air-defence systems(wth well trained crew or troops).

@BBEEAANN1 B-2 is very fragile and very easy to destroy. If detected by any radar(even WW-I radar-missile too).... then its a dead meat... No doubt.
Also B-2 is a copied technology,design,Concept from Nazi-Germany. US utilized many German head for Space programs,Weapons,Atom Bomb,etc. Stealth- invented by Russians, US copied the technology and failed to design good aircraft,made their own craps. Disassembled Mig-25 and Scud missilies but failed to copy that complicated technology

@JineshJK B-2 dropped 33% of the bombs in the campaign in serbia. It is the first aircraft to go into an area and drop bombs to soften and destroy defenses. In Afghanistan and Iraq the B-2 dropped more than 1.5 million bombs in the campaigns, btw that is more than any other aircraft. Btw the Scub is a garbage missle, yeah the US cant copy that because it has better missle technology. Umm, the Russians looked over the F-14 in Iran and took things from it into the design of the Su-27. In case ...

@BBEEAANN1 Dont copy paste wikipedia to here. 1.5million bombs in cout of cluster bombs and there is only 21 B-2 in service. There is lot of aircrafts dropped twice the amount of bombs than B-2. Patriot missiles were a complete failure against SCUD at that time. Two times US examined SCUD propulsion and navigation systems(in American soil). Still remains failed.

@JineshJK lmao, Titanium was discovered in Cornwall, England, by William Gregor in 1791 so, if anyone is copying anyone when it comes to titanium they care copying Gregor. The SR-71 is the first aircraft to employ a complete titanium frame. Titanium is has been used on propeller and jet engines since the inception of the jet engine. The Russians didnt come up with the idea the US pioneered it. Thanks for researching the topic first though.

@JineshJK There are three ways that you generate knowledge of a kill, 1 is a guncam, 2 is AWACS radar not seeing the bogey anymore because it got shot down at night 3 evidence on the ground. Even the Serbs acknowledge that 9 MiG-29's were destroyed by the USAF and NATO forces in serbia. If Yogoslavia is stating this, why are you denying it genius?

@BBEEAANN1 here were a total of 7 MiG-29's scrapped in Kosovo to air to air. 2 from F-16's and 5 from F-15's. The Dutch with an F-16AMs with 1 kill, the USAF with an F-16, and 5 MiG-29's from F-15's from the USAF. The US goes out and takes pictures of the aircraft they shoot down as well. They have gun cams for day and at night when the AWACS doesnt see you on the radar anymore, yeah, you have been shot down. There were also 4 killed on the ground and not to mention the ones killed

@BBEEAANN1 MATV pulling a cobra not like Sukhois(in altitude, low or high speed). MATV F-16 weighs less than 8 tonne. That means LITERALLY Su-27s can fly with one F-16. Imagine the size and weight difference. I didnt talk anything about stealth composites on F22. Yeah everyone knows the mighty F22 CRAPTOR!! Lockheed made TAX-Collector for american Govt. Is MATV F-16 is capable of Cobra with 2 loop?? at least one??

@JineshJK The US bought the engine from for the harrier variant of the F-35, not the 3D TVC that they had already mastered. The YAK engine is what they bought because the Russians werent using the design so the saved time and money on research and developement on that specific engine for the harier variant of the F-35. The US did not go to the Russians for help with their 2D or 3D TVC which they were doing more than 10 years before the Russians.

F-35 dont use any kind of active thrust vectoring (including three different models). From the first all i am talking about TVC BEARINGs and related components working efficiency. That is US didnt find a good solution for bearing problems in extreme heat. i think they already cancelled it. No more researches..
