I am a Boricua, borned and raised in Puerto Rico, an American citizen of Spaniard, African, Taino heritage and 100% proud of it. I am triguegno, and in my island I was never, never, ever asked what race was I, all I knew is that I was Puerto Rican. It was not until I got to the USA that I found out what racial prejudice was and overall, I am proud to be an American.
Umm Puerto rican is not a race but it is nationality. In Puerto Rico, none of them are 100% european. Some of them are mixed with taino, African black, and European which is Spain orgin, umm some of them are not part black, or taino. If they take DNA then they will know. Rosie is mixed races rican.

I am triguegno, and in my island I was never, never, ever asked what race was I, all I knew is that I was Puerto Rican. Everyone likes to belong to something. I think it is cool to have a culture that you KNOW where you come from. I say more power to you Rosie. My only issue is that she didn't mention anything about the African influence of Puerto Rico and that's not going away. Anybody can look at her and tell she has some African in her ancestry.

I don't know Rosie's ancestry but speaking for myself I am a very dark skinned Puerto Rican with curly hair but my ancestry line traces back to either Spaniards on one side or the Taino natives who were very dark. I do see what you mean about the african influence on PR though. Rosie in my opinion looks more Taino than anything though.
