  • No one sings like you anymore

  • There is no one else in the universe that can hit those high notes! It's just amazing and so awesome sounding! FUCK!

  • @deathconceal1 ... and with this power!! it's like 2 (monster) singers in 1

  • I was there :-D

  • I'm seeing Chris Cornell in November, can't fucking wait!

  • @QualityOfTheBeard Dude saw him last night, get ready to cry tears of joy!

  • Kim, Matt, Ben & Chris in their prime! Amazing!

  • It won't let me post, check out Deep Purple - Child in Time 1970 on Youtube for my video response.

  • @ScottAOD I've seen that, it's not as good because his voice is not as powerful and he doesn't have to sing in quick succession.

  • I'm pretty sure that's a demon that possesses Chris during the chorus...those notes are God like.

  • Birth Ritual has always been one of my favorite songs of all time, if not my very favorite Soundgarden tune!

  • Massive tune !! The late 80's / early 90's, US music, UNBELIEVABLE !!!! GnR, Grunge, Pantera, Social D, Metallica (actually, all the Big 4). And not forgetting The Cult from the UK. And AC/DC (Aussie), of course. Amazing times. I've waited 20 years for something similar, and nothing's come close. What's charting today? R & B, EMO groups with 3 to 4 word names [the longer the name the better the group, is that the theory?], pop, rap, Lady Blah Blah, Britney, Beiber etc, VOMIT!!

  • Weird to see been playing with a pick. I'm pretty sure he normally used his fingers. This song must be too fast or something.

  • @jgraham97mc Ten itself was actually a very political album. It's just harder to tell then with some of Pearl Jam's newer stuff. I feel like none of their new albums can come close to be as good as Ten though.

  • Fuck yes. I'm proud to be a Soundgarden fan because they're so dedicated! Look at those guys pulling Chris back on the stage when he was crowd surfing and forgot his cue! True dedication.

  • love u kim!! great custom!!!

  • daaamn thats great

  • Having this sort of vocal talent would literally turn me insane. I'd become far too up my own ass.

  • its better then any other singer even rob halford or bruce dickenson

  • I wish I hadn't been so young in the 90's...

This is one of the best videos ever

  • Back in those days they were, in the words of Jack Endino "total fucking godhead live". At least I think it was Jack that said that...don't quote me.

  • I have never, EVER, in my life span of 18 years, heard any1 sing as good, or even as high as Chris Cornell. He is a GOD to me, Wen he dies, they need to take his vocal chordes out & put it in the ROck N Roll HOF

  • @worthlessburger7 But if they did that, how would he be able to sing in heaven? lol

  • @worthlessburger7

Chris Cornell is essentially an 80's rock singer, in a 90's rock setting. That is to say that he's awesome. Check out Geoff Tate of Queensryche, Rob Halford of Judas Priest, or Sammy Hagar (especially in Van Halen).

  • @worthlessburger7

Oh I forgot: if you want another one with amazing power and range, check out Steelheart's singer, Mike Matijevic, especially in the song "I'll never let you go".

  • @worthlessburger7 coudn`t agree more

  • someone missed the like button

  • Fucking great.

  • Fucken sick live

  • I always thought Cornell was a better vocalist than Robert Plant, based on the fact he could actually sing like he did on his records, and didn't fuck about.

  • I always curious if he could sing this one like that outside of the studio and.. holy shit!

  • WOW!!! crowd surfing!!!! Brings back many fun memories!!!!!!

  • I fucking love this.

  • Absolutely one of THE BEST grunge bands EVER! This is such a SMOKIN' song!!!! Nirvana had nothin' on Soundgarden (and since Cobain perished hisself, they still don't...)

  • @dclaghorn grow up, please.

  • @Radz117 Why does he need to grow up? What he said is completely true, and really wasn't juvenile at all. Maybe you should stop taking youtube comments right up your butt, and grow up yourself?

  • @Radz117 I'm 49. I'm grown. I have a doctoral degree. I don't have to eat my freakin' lima beans anymore, I don't have to cultivate a taste for port or scotch to fit in, and I've learned to not take myself or life too seriously. Mayhaps you should grow up your own self...

  • @dclaghorn You are 49, ha!

  • this song owns

  • Fucking cool.

  • nobody....nobody will imitate this fucking style.....if this music was a bitch she'd be fine as hell and I hit on her.....then she rip my fuckin head off cuz she rocks

  • This is Soundgarden at their fucking height. I love the Badmotorfinger era more than any other, and this song is amazing. They come out singing it in the movie "Singles" (1992), which also had appearances by Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam.

  • Holy shit!!! I searched for this thinking no way would I find it live! Man how the crap can he sing this live!? Bad ass!

  • @thedukeofrosco Indeed his is a badass.

  • @Radz117 Well not quite what I was referring to. I appreciate the fact he is a handsome fella. No doubt. He does make me cringe a fair bit though. He is definately on the cheesy side of things. But as they take a massive nod to Led Zep, you can see where he got the whole 'shirt-off ' vibe from. Robert Plant was all about the bare chest.

Still...Soundgarden definatley kick a large amount of arse and I wish I could get a chance to see them.

  • @thedukeofrosco How is he cheesy? And how does Soundgarden 'take a massive nod to Led Zep'?

  • @Radz117 Do you not think he can be cheesy? Some of his more commercial solo stuff is super cheesy. As are a ton of posed photos with 'blue steel pouts'. He is a model-esque vocalist mixing up rock and roll with commercial projects. Good for him make the money I say. But it's going to get cheesy along the way. Why ask about the Led Zep comment when you already know the influence? None of this is ment with any malice. like I said, I'm a massive fan and have been following them for a long ol time.

  • @thedukeofrosco Actually yeah I guess he was a bit cheesy with his solo stuff, not sure with Soundgarden though.

I dunno I guess I don't see the Zep influence as much as everyone claims it to be there.

  • amazing, classic soundgarden

  • Fuckin great bootleg man. This is hostory roght here, SOUNDGARDEN IS BACK FROM THE 90'S TO KICK SOME ASS... OLD SCHOOL STYLE!!

  • I understand you not agreeing with their political ideology, but still, I would much rather a band take a stand on issues that I disagree with than a band who doesn't care and have no opinion, you know? I can see the clashing opinions becoming irritating, but at least they have a meaning and a message.

  • awesome!

  • Republican?

  • Hell Fuckin' Yeah!

  • vedder isn't a complete pussy. chicks in tiedye ben n' jerry's tshirts loved him in the early 90s, the same ones who coveted dave mathews. guess my outlook is just tainted by that

  • vedder is more for the happy masses where staley is for the darker of us.

  • Even still, Vedder very much has his appeal for the darker crowds. He may not have been a heroin junkie, but some of the themes on Ten were fuckin harsh and very dark, no doubt.

  • and Chris is for those of us who demand a kick-arse singer!

  • staley was fucking badass

  • Stop bloody comparing. A fine band and one of many to come from a city and also a time of great music. For the record Eddie Vedder is the best singer from the grunge era. Incredible singer.

  • shit! it vibrates the empty beer bottles in the room when he hits the highs! there will never be another set of pipes like that anytime soon

  • At the time he raped all the other grunge vocalists with his sheer vocal ability, unfortunately he lost it with his hair

  • yea I actually am more of a pearl jam fan but Chris was just crazy

  • @barker888 Technically Chris is a better singer because his range is about four times bigger then Layne's or Eddie's. This isn't to say Layne and Eddie are bad singers though. They're both amazing and I fucking love their voices. Chris though, Chris actually took years of opera lessons and did shit like running and working out, all to train his voice and stretch it out so he could sing the way he does. Layne and Eddie are good, and I respect that you prefer them. But Chris is better. Rock on!

  • @mrnikko419 Chris Cornell is the best singer out of all the alternative/grunge bands, hands down 4 octave machine

  • i came

  • Oh Chris Cornell of 1991, Where did you go...

  • That Cornell is gone, but he still lives in our memories and ears, man; on YouTune, too!

  • this is the fuckin diamond of youtube! man i never thought there was any other recorded live perf of birth ritual other than my video.

  • Best vocalist ever.

  • @KobySGSRV

i agree. That tune he did for the 2nd last Bond film rocked. If i had to construct a band Cornell would be the frontman, his voice is amazable.

  • Cornell what the fuck !!1 he was so fucking awsome

  • i thought they only performed this once, in LA 1992! amazing performance and song.

  • Yoooooo hooeeeee at last a clip to go along with this great track ...

    Thank you damiangarden....

  • no comment. amazing!

  • oh my god

  • That was a time, when the drummer could play drumms, guitar player could play guitar, singer could sing and the songs could be written and performed in the right way. The things have changed...Miss old days

  • Cornell, Thayil, Shepherd, Cameron= Dioses.
