  • you can get zinc powder from lanter batteris open the top get the four batteries out open them get rid of tha stuff inside and the shell is 100% zinc. but it will only be zinc if the lanter battery does not ssay it is an alkaline battery. hope this helps use out

  • Which is best for rocket fuel?

  • The ZnS i would say. While ClO4 has alot of energy, the products of the reaction are not as energetically favorable.

  • i've never used zinc b4. i geuss ill try it out. i like magnesium better though, because its bright.

  • Potassium perchlorate(KClO4) + Magnesium(Mg) burns quick as hell.

  • Then mabye not the best fuel for a rocket. Still, good for a smoke bomb.

  • Omg of course not.... it's a flash powder composition!

  • lol "nebiours are goin to love this" yeah.. my nebiours hate me...

  • Where did u get potassium perchlorate

    w.b. on our channel thNX

  • great video! those components could be a little expensive in large quantites but I see some massive smoke bombs in the near future!

  • Be careful of the fumes - zinc oxide is yellow when hot and white when cooler. those fumes are also toxic - welders get it from welding zinc coated parts. It's potentially very nasty.

  • Lol, its too late for me...

  • Those are some pretty cool redox reactions. My favorite is a thermite, a reaction between aluminum and ferric oxide.

  • nice vid try on big scale

  • will do

  • Do you think any of them would work good as star comps. ?

  • Possibly, the zinc sulfur and KClO4/zinc reactions have a nice yellow color to them. Worth a try i think.

  • Whats the ratios for that comp.?

  • 4 grams zinc 1 gram perchlorate, 6 grams zinc to 1 gram sulfur or 2 grams zinc 1 gram sulfur. the later depends on preference. less solid products if you use the later formula.

  • Zinc/Sulphur flash yet?

  • zinc sulphur burns pretty fast, but i dont know about as a flash. It WILL violently exlpode if well contained.

  • Alan yates' composition is what I was thinking of. Granulated it is used in greenish flash reports. I haven't made it yet but I REALLY want to... I will, someday...

... Someday [insert brave look into sunset here].

  • Nice video.
