  • do you ever worry about his escaping when you take him out like that?

  • @hanhanhanhanhan not with caymus. i would with some of the other cats i know.

  • omg if my cat made noises like that I would cry xD out of happiness!!! mine is 2 years old now and I can count the times I heard his voice...btw gorgeous cat!!

  • @kharbootah100 Caymus makes no sounds usually - so you could take your cat to Petco and see if you get a similar response.

  • @steiff1001 I took him out to a pet shop once,,he froze on my shoulder and was so terrefied his hair was shedding so heavily,,,walked around with a hollow of white hair around me,,,and yet not even one meow T___________T

  • @kharbootah100 bummer. well, how old is he? my rags started to meow when he was around 15 and before then he didn't really meow much - unless at the dogs.

  • @steiff1001 he's 2 years now,,,well after he was born they put him in a cage for like 8 months with no kitties to play with or people around except the guy who fed him,,my poor baby :"{ when I got him he didn't even response to the cat toys I was swinging in front of him,,I think that's why he's very quiet and not that playful...he got better now he's more active,,mom says it's better for him not to meow or she'll get annoyed and sell him xD

  • @kharbootah100 yes, meowing can be annoying. i have one now that meows all the time. you can search for charlie and ragdoll cat and meow to find my little meowing monster - when you play a meowing video on youtube - how does your kitty respond?

  • @steiff1001 xD he's by my side while I'm watching caymus,,no respond at all just minding his own business.

  • @kharbootah100 hmmm, yes, probably has to do with being in a cage. my cats come running interested in who is meowing like that. well, i don't have any tips/suggestions for you other than to talk to him and tell him you want to hear his beautiful voice. he may just understand you.

  • He sounds and looks quite same as my ragdoll, though my cat is usually that loud when it's bathing time. In public places he just sticks on me with his every nail and shuts up.

  • I think that would really help Caymus out of his shell more. It was a new experience and he was just vocalizing it, but he knew he was safe with you and your sis : ) His eyes are too cute!

  • @MoonCradlesTide i am so glad you see and understand that - not everyone is a fan of this video. i was nervous for caymus. it's been awhile since he's gone to petco. my sister will be home from college soon, so maybe we need to make another trip. caymus' everyday meow is so sweet and soft - not this loud howl.

  • @steiff1001 Of course I understand : ) He may also have sensed you were nervous for him and acted on that because it was all new to him. I don't see why anyone would not be a fan since you are helping him have confidence. He saw you two kept him safe. You are doing this for his benefit, and how else will he learn new things if he is never allowed to at least try. At least it helped him a good deal. Don't sweat the people who don't understand, You are fantastic with him and your cats!

  • aha maw maw xD

  • Poor Caymus! Love his sweet meow, but he is not a happy kitty! Adorable!

  • @countrycajunfan1959 I honestly believe doing this sort of stuff with him helped him come out of his shell. he is SOOO much better now with people and doesn't run away when people come in the house. I think Trigg needs to do it too!

  • aww, look at those eyes, he's freaked out. haha

  • awwww poor caymus, to much excitement he doesn't know how to handle it!

  • Why torture him if you know he's going to react like that?

  • @javery100 it was hardly torture. He meows like that walking to the car. He's just a shy guy and donig these things has helped him come out of his shell...I get complimented daily about his improvements.

  • Dallas would shred me if I tried to do that. Rose would probably enjoy it, though.

  • @FergusonTO35 Caymus is tooo sweet to shred me. I should try taking Murphy though, as I have never taken him and it would be interesting. My sister is the one holding Caymus and she lives in Boulder (she's in college), so I would have to wait until she was back.

  • Aw poor Caymus, nice clear close-up though!
