The ssc is a really simple concept which is part Italian and part German meaning Italian styling and aerodynamics and German engineering. Basically just a stencil from cars that have already been made. Plus a viper with 1000hp is not amazing considering there is a Subaru sti with 1250hp with the stock motor. Plus countless supras with well over 1000hp.

And no the zr1 Is not a muscle car it is a sports car with really good handling, but other than the zr1, or the ford gt every other American car including vipers don't handle corners.

The whole test was done by top gear. its pretty good. and its done on a controlled track with professional drivers in all the cars. and the ZR1 won the 24hrs of le mans last year

If you crash one with 50 km/h the steering rod will come out the back of your head.There's such a big gap between late 60s and the last Vette that finally made it into the big boys club. I think it all comes down to the top potential of the engine, compare what top hp and torque you can get from an import 4 or or 6 banger vs the v8. I have yet to see an import engine run 8000hp or an import break 300mph. Or run 0-100 around a second. Sure imports can handle, but any car can be upgraded to handle. Sorry the muscle car is and always will be king.

@pandorafake the GTR has been destroyed by american muscle since it was introduces and the 2012 GTR has over 500hp but the Chevy ZR1 has 638hp and 600+ ftlbs of torque. Type in "ZR1 drag king" they race a GTR against the corvette ZR1 and a Porsche and Ferrari. The whole test was done by top gear. its pretty good. and its done on a controlled track with professional drivers in all the cars. and the ZR1 won the 24hrs of le mans last year

@skyZZofreniKdesignS no arguments that imports handle pretty good. but, there's always a but you can do alot with american muscle to make it handle like a train on rails. i have an 87 iroc z and put new control arms, pan hard bar, torque arm, hyperflex bushings eibach springs and koni shocks in it and all for less than 1.5k and it handles good enough to run at Watkins glen race way in NY. and i run right with the BMW's and Porsche's with no problem. all for 30k less than they did it for

He has a scion tC pushing 700+whp with barely any supporting mods and it put BUS LENGTHS on his Z06 when it was only pushing 500whp. Turbo kit, rods, pistons, and camshaft. That's it! okok...the mustang that vaughn drove is already set-up for drifting...hell crash into trees if he drove the 2005 stock mustang...the new 2010 one is much better...that said, pick almost any old imports and they can beat the crap out of a latest muscle around the bends so badly that the muscles cant catch up in the straights...i still love both though...each simply exclusive in their own way...

@shobin05 . i can perfectly turn in an explorer no problem, i can even smoke a couple of little hondas here and there, it all really depends in the driver, also import need huge turbos to even be a bit fast muscle cars already come with a bit of power, a couple of mods and they can be doing 11s or 12s and if you want to race in turns then take it to a drift track im pretty sure a little 2.0 engine without a turbo wont have enough power to even make a powerslide
