In short, the FairTax eliminates the middle man. Corporations only pass their income taxes to the consumer, by raising the prices. Eliminate the corporate income tax, and the price will come down to allow just 5 percent profit, due to competition. Replace this with the FairTax, and the price will come right back where it was. Prices won't change (maybe slightly), take home will rise, the fed budget won't change. Nothing will change except you'll never handle another tax form again.
HR block set up an educational scam where they offer a tax course presented as a job. They charge tuition. The students think they are getting a job at HR block (that's the lure) so they plop down 5k. In the end HR block hires 1/10000 students and pockets a fat load of cash for their trickery. It's just another way companies and people are out to trick and fool and take advantage of others in any "legal" way they can. As a result HR block they INCREASES THE SUPPLY and drives down wages. Wake up.
The tuition is only $250 & if you couldn't pass the test at least an 80% you don't qualify to get a job at H&R Block. This is told right up front. Another reason would be, if you were in trouble with the IRS or have a felony; of course you wouldn't get in. H&R Block works with peoples identities. If H&R Block has to watch who they let in or they would not be doing their job, giving out the best tax return LEGALLY possible.
That has little to do with my comment. It's a tax course offered to people for money (tuition). People listen to your advertisement which insinuates they will be offered a job upon successful completion. So on the HOPES of getting a job given by the insinuation of your commercials they PAY FOR THE COURSE. Then come to find out you can pass with 100% and still not get a job. Best of all H&R block makes out like a bandit. This is misleading. H%R Block is preying on peoples needs for profit.
Yes, the tax course is expensive but you are never guaranteed a job upon successful completion. Also, for the record you should get a job as a receptionist, as long as you are a valuable employee they will hire you on again the next tax season and you will qualify for a $20 tax class. I am a product of this and think it is the best way to go. I took the class for $20 and have been a tax preparer for 2 years.
I have never known anyone going thru the course and making a 100% to be denied a job unless there were other factors. I am an instructor. Some applicants may have other issues that prevent them from being suitable for employment. Some take training and have education but are not hired. The job market is tight We are dealing with privacy issues and federal and state laws. Please allow us to recruit the most qualifies preparers. We owe it to our clients and the IRS demands it.
"the following arguments alluded to by the Lonsdales are completely lacking in legal merit and patently frivolous: (4) the Sixteenth Amendment to the Constitution is either invalid or applies only to corporations; (7) no statutory authority exists for imposing an income tax on individuals" (Lonsdale v. US 1990)

Just because you pass with a 100% doesn't mean there aren't other qualifications that you need to meet before you are offered a job.
No company will hire you just because you passed with a perfect score on their tests.

Like the French. They didn't want to go rape and loot Iraq, so we held them up to ridicule as wimps.
Maybe they were right after all....
