me and my friends played this in 4 play co op, it took us several tries (normal) and i have to say, hardest boss yet for me in this game, i just beat that one monster thats under the reverse barrier in those ruins with the hunting blades.

This boss was the reason I didn't buy the game. I don't know if he's easier or just the same in the final version, but it just ruins the fun when a demo suggests the game will kick your ass. It might be a great game, but I'm afraid to try.

Don't get me wrong, I like hard games - I own a copy, I've beaten it, and I ended up loving it. Were it not for its' solid reputation, I wouldnt've tried because of the demo cruelly taking players by surprise.

Again, I love this game, BUT IT'S THE TRUTH!

@TomServo200X I'm not sure about that, this boss was hard, but me and three others played co op to beat it (it took several tries) but the overall feeling after we beat the boss was one of total success, that made the game worth buying for me.

I downloaded the demo a few days ago, beat the boss second time round. My only other Tales game is Symphonia, but I've been wanting this game for so long. Love the battle system, it's like Symphonia but faster. I couldn't believe it when the little kid character remarks on how the boss 'barely put up a fight'. Talk about throwing players in at the deep end...

This boss fight was pretty easy for me(its cause i spam XD.?My strategy is to beat down the other wolves,then corner gattuso,knock him down,and keep spamming destruction field(if you have it)

I just beat him XD. What i did is i was Rita, and i kept useing over limit. Keep useing like blade twirl, and whirl wind. After you kill the 2 wolves with those attacks, and hit the big guy hard, use freeze lancer, and stalegmite a few times. I ran out of ornage gels, so i let me other members do all the work. Keep Them alive at all times, espically Estelle, and Yuri. Yuri will do the most damage, and Estelle will continue healing.

This was a very tough battle. I had to train to level eighteen, and I had to manually use Estelle for healing. And I had to make my own strategy because the default ones suck.

The boss is ridiculous in the actual game. I was underleveled. It was horrid. and I prefer to play as Rita, so you can only imagine what AI yuri was doing.

Ah well either way it resulted in disaster. If I played as Rita Yuri just kept spamming arts and got killed, if I was Yuri, Rita sat in the middle of the battlefield chanting a spell and got charge attacked because she was too dumb to run off to the side and do it. *sigh* I managed to kill it though.

Yeah~ I'm at the fight with Alexei, so I'm pretty happy. There's always easy mode for the first playthrough. Just set it for Hard or Normal during battles to get sufficient grade.

My goodness, you make this look so easy. It was hecka hard for me. i still didn't beat em. I hate how they run so slow. Rita hardly attacks fast enough for me, Estelle is really hard for me and Repede was fun as heck! I can't wait for the real thing. That way I can get the full speed and effect of the game. The demo just doesn't cut it. I know the Real game will be better.

I don't like ,in the demo, you can only use the life bottle on your party. I don't get how you can't use the other items on them. Oh, how do you do a burst arte?

You had to have the skill on that allows you to do it.

I died the first few times, but once I acquainted myself to the fighting system, I got it every time...

Take the small dogs out first definitely... use overlimit and chain attacks... and you can ge a +30 grad easily with minimal item use ;)

Also if you knock the boss into a billybally flower and hit it stuning it you get another 10 grade and a billybally will look like its in your party when you win.

It isn't on the demo download screen. Go to the whole game list in the marketplace. i forget the exact name, and it will be a long long long list of games to download demos for. Go all the way to T and there it is. Took me forever to get to it but I finally downloaded it two days ago.

your OVL depends on what lvl it is..in the demo it gives you lvl 2 and no higher. I think you have to unlock the other levels later in the game. but I belive lvl 4 gives you non-staggering and at lvl 5 its non staggering with a def boost.

game nut the easiest way to beat this boss is either use Yuri or Rita

and why you need to use these guys is Go in overlimit and make sure you have full tp on either one. so go in overlimit and either Spam (keep using over and over again) Destruction blast or fireball on the mage. oh and take out the small wolves first their a big pain

They are a stage hazard - the secret mission is just to use the hazard against the Boss successfully.

The only "jump" you can do in this game is battle only. I've yet to play it but if its from the abyss guys then they havn't changed anything.

It seems that, once again, you need to have the Item Thrower AD Skill to use non-Life-Bottle items on your party members.
