I usually LOVE Vishneva, I find her fantastic in almost everything, but my god, I really don't like her in this part. far too nervous in the first part, too acrobatic in the second... you don't need so many movements, or so many affected poses to express despear. I just see agitation there... well, it was maybe a "bad" day
I know what you are saying. I used to think this way about dancers too - they are "too acrobatic". However, the styles are changing from the past. I personally think that Diana has danced this beautifully and with split second timing and poise. She is certainly not having a "bad" day. In fact, I think she is having a brilliant day.
At 4:26, she gets very close to the edge. She must be completely confident and fearless. A couple of inches further, and it could have all ended in disaster. She is very very talented and musical.

The quality of the video is outstanding. The wide screen picture makes me think that a HD High Definition camera was used. Do you know what exact brand and model number camera was used and what format (HD, mini DV, Hi-8 mm, etc) was it done in?
It's Canon HV10 and miniDV tape. The camcorder is HDV. The latest model I believe is HV30. You can find tons of info at this website: dvinfo (dot) net (google canon hv10 dvinfo). Although the camcorder is a very good one, one thing I should mention is the motor noise. Most time it's below the normal tolerable level, but occasionally it would show up, as you can hear from this video.
I like miniDV tape for it's quality, reliability, and easy storage. If one screws up the tape, it'd be only one small segment. But if HD or DVD fails, it'd be the entire video (I think).
By the way, thanks for sharing those rare videos.
Thanks for your quick and great response. If you have more than the two fragments of this wonderful performance, you should post more. I am in the process of posting Makhalina's Bayadere and will probably do Volochkova next week.
Diana makes ballett history. Watching her performance we experience emotions which were experienced of Anna Pavlova.
