I really enjoyed the imagery and ideas in this poem...they brought back memories of time spent with my own son. It's strange how incidents like this remain in our imaginations as vivid and as real as the day they took place.

We always lie to those we care for and save the truth for those, we despise.

I'm looking forward to hearing more of your work.

I was sad along with you and your son, then the lie made me feel better too! Funny how the loss of a ballon is still a loss, complete with pain, in the mind and heart...

What a sweet and lovely story Kristine. The subway footage was exciting. (I wanted to say awesome or incredible, but a voice on twitter caused me to hold back) How about fantastic?
